As someone who does IT support at schools, vga and hdmi is the standard. Its very rare for any of the towers they buy to have display ports or dvi connectors. Some of the pcs they have only have vga and so you need to use a basic graphics card to add hdmi and dvi functionality.

The Asus laptop is probably *halfway* decent for basic productivity and entertainment use, but I would upgrade it to 8 gigs of RAM. Win11 may be lightweight compared to previous versions, but you're not going to get much to run in terms of multitasking with only 4 gigs.
It's not. While the one he bought is more current...the specs are virtually the same as the Asus Laptop I bought back in 2014 and used for 7 years. That laptop was a monstrous pile of garbage and I can't imagine this 2021/2022 version he bought here would fare much better. It could browse the internet and watch YT videos at 720p, but try to do anything even slightly more taxing and it slows to a crawl. @@TheViper4Life I also bought an E-410MA (Celeron N4020, Intel UHD 610, 4Gb DDR4 64GB eMMC). It does MS Office productivity just fine. YT videos are fine up to 1440p. Most 4K videos are fine, some might need to buffer. The eMMC storage was quite small. So, I cloned it to a 512GB NVME SSD and made the latter the boot drive. Only games from the early 2000's run fine such as MechCommander 2, Command & Conquer: Generals, Neverwinter Nights, etc. But, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl also ran fine so long as it's set to Static Lighting. Not bad for a very basic laptop. I would take it over any Chromebook.
Love how the Beats headphones come with the earpads pressed in and with seam on the earpads completely rounded over and destroyed. These are still a terrible buy. No other headphone at that price would come in a damaged condition brand new.

Still not super great but not as bad as he made it out to be. Also it's not even labeled as a gaming pc.
His point is that, for general use, there are far better devices for the money. You can get a laptop that has the keyboard, mouse, and screen for far less than the cost of this tower and it'll perform about the same when browsing Facebook or checking your email. I just priced that HP system out on PCPP (list/pgMJ2m) with the cheapest options and it's $639, after a $40 MIR, and assuming they at least put a quality NVMe drive in it (WD Green in this case). The only reason it is that expensive, is the i7-12700 in that thing is $380 by itself, and the cheapest case listed on PCPP that fitr the parts is apparently $42, so I'm sure that could be even cheaper.

I really gotta ask, for the price of that desktop, wouldn't it be better to just get something like an HP Pavilion? and before someone says something, I'm talking about pre built pc prices since a custom would've been cheaper
Very insightful. My workplace buys devices on my recommendation and I'm pretty sure we bought both the windows laptop and boost mobile phone. The phone died within a year due to the battery no longer holding a charge. The computer works but its only been a few months.
Yes, my sister was looking for PCs and I guess she didn’t consult me and got that HP pc, she wanted to install a graphics card for the sims, but when I went to check I was greeted with the same surprise, a single stick of ram.
As a ex Dell vendor who worked in Best Buy is that 1. people think good windows laptop cost $400 and Amazing laptops cost $600 without a sale. They think anything over that they should just get a apple computer. They all go right to the value wall and when you tell them they can do nothing more then use word and visit basic websites they say thats all they need. Its a lot of convincing to get to over to the mid tier 14" laptops that are $800 2. Desk Top towers are mostly purchased by older people, easiest sale you can get after telling them about the additional fee for a disk drive they buy it right up. 3. Something I heard a lot was "I just need to use this computer once or twice a month to pay my bills"
10:20 I'd bet that phone is still miles ahead of the last $100 phone i bought. Last time I paid $100 for a phone was many, many years ago. Like 2012. I got the ZTE Z998. A terrible phone, but it made calls and could text, so it worked for the time. I actually still have that phone and it hurt me the last time I looked at it. It sucks so hard.
You've got to give it up to the Beats branding and marketing department that they're the best selling headphones 7 years after their peak relevance. Apple essentially killed the company and yet, still, there they are.
"...where my money went." Uhhh, straight in HPs pockets. That system is nothing but cost cutting in every possible way because most buyers don't know any better.
That desktop almost got me because I was all "If you don't want to game and you just want the basics, then it's fine". But almost 1000??? That's just highway robbery
I absolutely LOVED my old HP Media Center PC (purchased in the early 2000s at Future Shop ...so perhaps even worse than Best Buy! 😁) but that was many years ago. If you're looking to dump that HP Envy TE01-3254, I know someone who could use it!
To be fair when people come into BestBuy and want a laptop, they don't expect to spend more than 300 $ people do now know/want to spend money on a good computer
@Austin Evens the Celeron isn’t the cheapest processor Intel. There is the atom that gives up everything for efficiency. But the Celeron is more for business work like spreadsheets, Internet, surfing and PowerPoint
You can actually swipe the fingerprint scanner to open and close notifications on android since i believe android 10, i've used it on my Xiaomi mi A2 lite for at least a few years now and its one of the best features a (almost) 5 years old phone like mine has
Just for reference, I just bought a prebuilt from Best Buy for 1050 dollars so it’s not that much more with a Ryzen 5 ,16 GB of RAM 250 GB SSD with a 1 TB hard drive and a 3060 holy cow. This deal is so bad it’s crazy.
On Amazon last month I got a PC for $850 it was on sale Has Ryzen 5 5600G 16GB DDR4, RTX 3060 12GB, about 500GB nvME SSD.. I then bought another exact same copy of 8x2, so now I have 32GB of ram so now the price I say is $900

Say what y’all want. But the Beats headphones are DOPE. Sound great and are fashionable, can go with a outfit if you care about that. I only do if I’m like on vacation or not
AUSTIN YOU SERIOUSLY CALLED MY NAME ON WHAT HEADPHONES YOU BOUGHT STARTED LAUGHING 😆 I like Sony headphones and Samsung headphones
That sponsor was too smooth 😂
9:04 I actually am watching this on that phone lmao
papi austin back with another banger video
Roasting Best Buy never gets old lol
with the first hp, seeing vga isnt scary....lots of the monitors you buy or would get for free is either hdmi or vga

2:13 - This is soooooo true. This happens at my job too
As a ex Dell vendor who worked in Best Buy is that
1. people think good windows laptop cost $400 and Amazing laptops cost $600 without a sale. They think anything over that they should just get a apple computer. They all go right to the value wall and when you tell them they can do nothing more then use word and visit basic websites they say thats all they need. Its a lot of convincing to get to over to the mid tier 14" laptops that are $800
“Sit down for a moment, shall we?”
Sir, I’m pooping.
Same. 1 year later.
honestly speaking, as bad as that laptop is the fact that you get the laptop free with your windows key is a great value.
I can’t hold this with one hand, it’s to big 😝🤣🤣🤣 10:36
The way Austin said "mids" at the end really sounds like spongebob.

That switch to the sponsor was smooth😳
Thank you I try
That desktop almost got me because I was all "If you don't want to game and you just want the basics, then it's fine". But almost 1000??? That's just highway robbery
Shaq is probably using an IPad
I absolutely LOVED my old HP Media Center PC (purchased in the early 2000s at Future Shop ...so perhaps even worse than Best Buy! 😁) but that was many years ago. If you're looking to dump that HP Envy TE01-3254, I know someone who could use it!

To be fair when people come into BestBuy and want a laptop, they don't expect to spend more than 300 $ people do now know/want to spend money on a good computer
"One of the Phones of all time" 😂😂😂
6:45 That is the exact laptop I have. It does not have good CPU and GPU speed levels, it's like 1.00 GhZ. However, mine is 12 inch.
@Austin Evens the Celeron isn’t the cheapest processor Intel. There is the atom that gives up everything for efficiency. But the Celeron is more for business work like spreadsheets, Internet, surfing and PowerPoint
Why does Austin have that game show host/anchorman voice every now and then?? 🤣
Love your videos Austin have a great day ❤
No way they reviewd my pc. At least I bought a graphics card for it
You can actually swipe the fingerprint scanner to open and close notifications on android since i believe android 10, i've used it on my Xiaomi mi A2 lite for at least a few years now and its one of the best features a (almost) 5 years old phone like mine has
Just for reference, I just bought a prebuilt from Best Buy for 1050 dollars so it’s not that much more with a Ryzen 5 ,16 GB of RAM 250 GB SSD with a 1 TB hard drive and a 3060 holy cow. This deal is so bad it’s crazy.
On Amazon last month I got a PC for $850 it was on sale
Has Ryzen 5 5600G 16GB DDR4, RTX 3060 12GB, about 500GB nvME SSD.. I then bought another exact same copy of 8x2, so now I have 32GB of ram so now the price I say is $900
4:59 not the mkbhd waveform podcast trivia song
Tellular got me dying 🤣
0:11 Noooo, please don't abort the video!
"I just cannot hold this with one hand it's too big ssshhh" -that's what she said
I’m surprised the studios outsold the Solos. I rarely see the studios out in the wild
The only way Beats can achieve MIDs is on reviews: "MID Headphones" lmao
Why did I think Austin would start playing Logic?? 😂
austin i love ur videos they make my day always
Funny how in that Dropbox Capture ad, there was a 2009 iMac that doesnt even support Dropbox Capture because being too obsolete with MacOs X El Capitan... Just pretty funny for a tech brand...
My son plays on a GTX 1050 which doesn’t require external power. It’s fine for a 10 year old. But I wouldn’t do it myself
Pretty soon the Old People will be the computer/Console pioneers from the 80's.
When it comes to headphones, the NUMBER ONE quality is COMFORT. I realize Austin sometimes forgets where he came from, but this is just common sense. If you can not wear them and be comfortable, they are pretty much paperweights.
Was the RAM-Upgrade possible?
