Austin, you got me into tech and pc building in 2014. What a great hobby and glad you’re going strong
🐸
This video is the first of his I’ve watched. I want to learn more about computers now.
Wow, me 2. I built my 1st PC Nov 2014 with his reviews and bought Arkham Knight as my 1st expensive PC game.😅
The real question is what's the best buy at worst buy?
Well right now probably the $99.99 touch screen chrome book lol

I guess this is a new series cuz he seems to be roasting best buy every other week
Could say so but this comment is 2 minutes old
Roasting Best Buy every single week series
It's been the thing with creators lately. There's been nothing new and they just go into monotonous episodes either doing Tik Tok reviews or things like that. I've even had to quit GMM because every episode was them eating food and rating it.
Austin is just a broken record at this point. Never really reviewing tech, just buying crap n getting lolz I guess

It makes sense since a large percentage of people who didn't lose their jobs during the pandemic were working from home (if they had jobs where you could) so they wanted the cheapest computer possible. You also had millions of kids doing learning from home and if you needed a computer for them, the cheapest would do for homework and such.
There are better options for that price for laptop's on bestbuy, especially during black friday
oh wow thanks for explaining the pandemic that none of us lived through
As someone who does IT support at schools, vga and hdmi is the standard. Its very rare for any of the towers they buy to have display ports or dvi connectors. Some of the pcs they have only have vga and so you need to use a basic graphics card to add hdmi and dvi functionality.
Realistically if you're using it with a monitor or TV, you're set with HDMI. VGA is good for projectors and other legacy stuff
@@szba98 In many cases VGA is not only good, it is essentially NECESSARY for projectors and external displays in many school and corporate environments. I WFH and was sent a pair of external monitors, the standard desktop displays the company uses, they are Dell, and they have 1 VGA and 1 HDMI, nothing else. They are 2019 models. In these environments NONE of the extra capabilities of "better" connections are used. We're still talking about 900-1080p displays at 60Hz still being standard. It gets the job done and they are cheap to replace when they are damaged or fail.
@@szba98 Well, a lot of monitors only practically have vga ports too as its all good a monitor having display ports and dvi but if your tower only shares a vga port with the monitor, which is often the case, you have to just cope with vga and tbh, teachers and pupils aren't really gonna notice the difference in quality
Plenty of people, businesses, and schools still use VGA monitors, they are cheap and still deliver pretty good video quality.
came here to say this same thing
If your staff don’t know Dr. Dre you need to fire them now lol
Yeah, old people that come into Best Buy usually go for that HP Envy desktop. They don't care that its $800, they just want something that has a lot of storage and "futureproofing" so they don't have to buy another one. They end up not even using a quarter of the storage and the only thing they use it for is banking.
I usually do not recommend that ASUS laptop though, I try as hard as I can to not get people to buy it because I see it returned so often. They end up buying it anyways thinking they can try to run their car tuning software on it, or use it for college, and it ends up not working for them.

ARA Here- You're exactly right. These machines are not for enthusiasts. These are typically for the elderly or some remote workers. I'd be more than happy to build everyone a decent machine, but the reality we live in is this: as soon as I start breaking down computer components, how things work, and why other things are better, I'm almost instantly hit with "I'm not tech savvy" and "I don't understand a word you just said" even though all I did was explain what storage is vs memory. Had to walk away from a lady who insisted I was scamming her by not finding her a computer with "256gb of memory." I told her what the difference was, offered her a larger hard drive if she needed more storage, she insisted she knew more than me, and I went on my lunch.
We can shame best buy and manufacturers all day about these machines, but users today are so willfully ignorant that this is a perfectly acceptable standard for a lot of them. I'm won't feel bad about it anymore either lol.
If this is a new series, I'm so happy! I've been watching you since the beginning of your channel and I still enjoy all your videos!
People won’t go out of their way to spend a lot of money on a pc or phone, for whatever reason products like these aren’t viewed as necessary by average consumers on a budget so they simply don’t prioritize spending extra money on them. The beats headphones are popular in contrast and most people buy them for style points, their phone, and simply their music. Everyone listens to music.. it isn’t too hard to believe no one seems to care about buying a product everyone is going to see
The thing is that beats are overpriced for what they are. They always seem on sale to deceive consumers that they are getting a quality product for cheap when beats are almost always on sale. You can find other brands around the same price that deliver way more and more affordable products that sound as good, if not, even better than beats for around half the price. Yes, I know that many people are okay with buying more affordable products when it comes to electronics. Still, when there is better bang for your buck options, they should do some research besides just organizing by best-selling and picking the top item in the results.
As someone with the powerbeat pros, there aren’t any other Bluetooth buds that sound (ok) and refuse to fall out of my dumb shaped ears. I did not buy them for the style points, I’m a regular jeans and t shirt guy lmao. I can shake my head super hard and the ear hooks keep them on my egghead. No complaints would buy again 😂
Lmao, I work in the warehouse at bestbuy, and I was able to guess the exact item every time before he revealed it.
Same. I was also able to know the exact msrp and sale price for each item. One thing though... and I'm NOT defending BB here, I would be judging the customers who spend money on these items and not the store selling them.
I like how the headphones are more expensive then the laptop and phone put together 🤣
I had an HP Desktop in 2008. In 2010 I added an Nvidia GT220 to it, was my first ever GPU and it was amazing compared to the onboard graphics. It was the first time in 5 years I had ever been able to enable shadows in WoW, LOL. I also bought it from BestBuy as it was recommended by the employee and I bought a RocketFish brand PSU for it... I still have the GT220!
Have you used the gt210 recently to compare to todays outstanding performance?
@@MrEelement Not yet! Though I'm looking to upgrade it to the Asus GTS450 I have in my parts bin!
first desktop i ever owned, my grandma took me to bestbuy and i got an HP Pavilion. I loved that thing for years. rip grandma ily
the funny thing is him saying “call HP support”
my brother in christ they go straight back to the store and harass the sales people
Haven't been into a Best Buy lately have you? They barely have sales people anymore.
@@manossteele1335 I have, every week, 5 days a week actually
@@IcyIceCube me too. Wow! Does that mean your store actually has a labor budget that supports more than 3 people on the sales floor, cuz mine sure as shit doesn't.
As someone who works for Best Buy these computers get roasted and returned all the time, especially that asus laptop lmao
I've been loving the recent content more than ever! Y'all have one of the best teams on YT :)
I love watching off brand logic talking about nerd stuff, legitimately one of my favorite time wasters.
A complaint I can see with the Galaxy Ao3s which they didn't cover is that it doesn't come with a charger in some packages, but it has a C-C cable which means those upgrading to a new phone need to find and buy a new charger.
Hey Austin just want to say been watching you for a long time and love your videos!! hope you're doing good
I mean I work at best buy and the reason these are best sellers is because they're cheap. A lot of people just want the basics of being able to check emails and watch UA-cam, but still want a laptop or desktop
Currently having a fun best buy experience, ordered a power supply from them for a PC build. Everything else for the build from other companies got here a few days ago, but Best Buy has yet to have the PSU picked up by the shipping company... it's been a week since I ordered it, and they haven't even put it in the mail.
Very insightful. My workplace buys devices on my recommendation and I'm pretty sure we bought both the windows laptop and boost mobile phone. The phone died within a year due to the battery no longer holding a charge. The computer works but its only been a few months.
I just priced that HP system out on PCPP (list/pgMJ2m) with the cheapest options and it's $639, after a $40 MIR, and assuming they at least put a quality NVMe drive in it (WD Green in this case). The only reason it is that expensive, is the i7-12700 in that thing is $380 by itself, and the cheapest case listed on PCPP that fitr the parts is apparently $42, so I'm sure that could be even cheaper.
Those old people come into the store and raise hell at geek squad when they throw away or forget the USB receiver for the mouse and keyboard. Really fun!
For almost 2 decades I've worked for a non profit for seniors(BTW I'm 41) where I run a senior center my small hometown, and part of my work is to try to make tech easier for my clients, and I have seen a similar thing happen when one of my clients bought a wireless Logitech keyboard, and mouse combo, they did not know that it needed the unifying dongle, and thought it just worked when you turned it on, thankfully the dongle was still inside the keyboard, and I said plug this in, and it worked.
How many things will Austin smell lol love the channel Austin and I love watching “This is” as well
Joanna is literally the best when she just randomly comes in taking the video actually enjoy all of you working together good vibes tbh also sorry if I spelled her name wrong 😅
talking in*^
What’s her @
This was great, I watched this on my lunch break while working at bestbuy
Watching this at 4:09 am rn cuz am depressed af and this is what is making me happy for the moment
Love how the Beats headphones come with the earpads pressed in and with seam on the earpads completely rounded over and destroyed. These are still a terrible buy. No other headphone at that price would come in a damaged condition brand new.
POV Austin taking to ken 1 week ago: I wonder why HP won’t sponsor us.
These videos 👁️👄👁️
Love your videos Austin have a great day ❤
"Someone purchesing a desktop not for gaming is a little strange to me" is the most idiotic thing I've hear in a while
Nnnnnnn

It's not at all idiotic. 😅 "Is a little strange TO ME" 😂
1. Learn how to spell.
2. Thanks for letting us know you’re too poor to afford a gaming pc.
3. Stfu
i'm so glad Austin didn't roast that cellphone too bad😂😂, because that's the phone i've been using for the past year
How is it?
I absolutely LOVED my old HP Media Center PC (purchased in the early 2000s at Future Shop ...so perhaps even worse than Best Buy! 😁) but that was many years ago. If you're looking to dump that HP Envy TE01-3254, I know someone who could use it!
I really appreciate your valuable time, you're among my shortlisted winners.✨️ Contact above.🎁....💬
austin i love ur videos they make my day always
I always look forward to your videos so entertaining how you finding the steam deck my first insight to kind of pc gaming
I don't know what screen my work laptop has, but the viewing angles are insane. If you can physically see the screen it's still crystal clear, 0 distortion of any kind
I worked in IT for about 5 years, when you mentioned an HP desktop from best buy, I was immediately very familiar with what model you were about to show lol
literally watching this with my studio buds
The Asus laptop is probably *halfway* decent for basic productivity and entertainment use, but I would upgrade it to 8 gigs of RAM. Win11 may be lightweight compared to previous versions, but you're not going to get much to run in terms of multitasking with only 4 gigs.
It's not. While the one he bought is more current...the specs are virtually the same as the Asus Laptop I bought back in 2014 and used for 7 years. That laptop was a monstrous pile of garbage and I can't imagine this 2021/2022 version he bought here would fare much better. It could browse the internet and watch YT videos at 720p, but try to do anything even slightly more taxing and it slows to a crawl. Only credit I can give that laptop is that it survived for 7 years until I came to my sense and got a better desktop.
@@TheViper4Life I also bought an E-410MA (Celeron N4020, Intel UHD 610, 4Gb DDR4 64GB eMMC). It does MS Office productivity just fine. YT videos are fine up to 1440p. Most 4K videos are fine, some might need to buffer. The eMMC storage was quite small. So, I cloned it to a 512GB NVME SSD and made the latter the boot drive. Only games from the early 2000's run fine such as MechCommander 2, Command & Conquer: Generals, Neverwinter Nights, etc. But, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl also ran fine so long as it's set to Static Lighting. Not bad for a very basic laptop. I would take it over any Chromebook.
Dankpods would disagree with the beats feeling premium haha xD Great video, love your content!
I still think it's crazy that something as overpriced as Beats are the best selling headset at Best Buy. Just goes to show what advertising does.
Yes, my sister was looking for PCs and I guess she didn’t consult me and got that HP pc, she wanted to install a graphics card for the sims, but when I went to check I was greeted with the same surprise, a single stick of ram.
I love the fingerprint swipe gor notifications on my Fold.
You can actually swipe the fingerprint scanner to open and close notifications on android since i believe android 10, i've used it on my Xiaomi mi A2 lite for at least a few years now and its one of the best features a (almost) 5 years old phone like mine has
Love these videos
I bought a version of that desktop last year to use as a Plex server. 😂 I just threw extra drives in it and it works great.
2:13 - This is soooooo true. This happens at my job too
Funny how in that Dropbox Capture ad, there was a 2009 iMac that doesnt even support Dropbox Capture because being too obsolete with MacOs X El Capitan... Just pretty funny for a tech brand...
@Austin Evens the Celeron isn’t the cheapest processor Intel. There is the atom that gives up everything for efficiency. But the Celeron is more for business work like spreadsheets, Internet, surfing and PowerPoint
i'm watching this on a computer i bought on bestbuy, and while it isn't great, when i bought it (during the middle of covid) it was quite price effective when compared to building my own for example, or buying from a pc builder. not great, but at the time it was decent specs at a relatively ok price.
The ASUS laptop? Back on Labor Day last year, I got it for $99. :) Labor Day is GREAT to hit them up for bargains; best day of the year to shop there.
If your gonna get headphones. Just get Astro A40s... They lasted me like 4 or 5 years of near constant use and the speaker blew out. Every headphone set I wore from the old Triton sets to Turtle Beach to Beats and Logitech all broke in the same exact spot. Where the adjustable size slider thing is. Cracked straight through every time after maybe 12-18 months of constant use. They were worth the 200$ then and are definitely worth the 130$ now.
I had someone bring in a netbook disguised as a desktop. The cpu had a 1990's style socket 7 cooler and fan. Like maybe 10mm with an aluminum heatsink that had 4 fins
2:10 This actually happened at my repair shop, we sold a brand new AIO to an elderly man and he called a while later complaining his wireless keyboard was not working
10:35 "I cannot hold this with one hand. It's too big" I have heard that quote in other videos.
7:30 it's funny because you're describing my laptop.
Wait.
AUSTIN YOU SERIOUSLY CALLED MY NAME ON WHAT HEADPHONES YOU BOUGHT STARTED LAUGHING 😆 I like Sony headphones and Samsung headphones
Roasting Best Buy never gets old lol
papi austin back with another banger video
with the first hp, seeing vga isnt scary....lots of the monitors you buy or would get for free is either hdmi or vga
Why y’all gotta roast my laptop like that lmao
I just wanted a cheap thing to watch UA-cam on
10:20 I'd bet that phone is still miles ahead of the last $100 phone i bought. Last time I paid $100 for a phone was many, many years ago. Like 2012. I got the ZTE Z998. A terrible phone, but it made calls and could text, so it worked for the time. I actually still have that phone and it hurt me the last time I looked at it. It sucks so hard.
Why does Austin have that game show host/anchorman voice every now and then?? 🤣
You should do a video with different keyboards around the world, in the UK the enter button is much larger and the @ and " are swapped etc
2:11 is half my job working for an ISP lol get trouble tickets saying the internet is not working when its just their device is not even connected to it or doesn't use wifi at all LOL
Say what y’all want. But the Beats headphones are DOPE. Sound great and are fashionable, can go with a outfit if you care about that. I only do if I’m like on vacation or not
5:45 Crash Bandicoot 😂👏🏽
would be cool to see a follow up with that hp maybe put a 6400xt in it that doesn't need external power and dual channel ram
6:45 That is the exact laptop I have. It does not have good CPU and GPU speed levels, it's like 1.00 GhZ. However, mine is 12 inch.
That gets to live in my head rent free now 🙂
with that dropping joke i was expecting an ltt ad ;)
I see Austin's studying at the Linus Sebastian School of Sponsor Segways is coming along nicely 💪
Love the new set
Crazy thing about that HP desktop - HP has the same one on their website for the same price BUT with a GTX 1660 Super
Why did I think Austin would start playing Logic?? 😂
I’m mainly a Mac user but needed windows for for work. It’s a $99 sub to run windows on the m1 macs. I found the same laptop that was on this video for $99. I bought it and kept it. It wasn’t a bad purchase, I got windows and a whole laptop for free.
Yeah I'd still buy this moto g stylus over that lol
But depending on who you get the phone from you can always use the trash cheap minutes for a year then unlock the phone for any carrier so 60 isn't bad
The integrated graphics on the intel 12th gen still cant come close to the 5000 series APUs from AMD (including the laptop versions) crazy.
To Austin or anyone in the comments, is the hp omen 27i monitor worth buying for the discounted price it is at right now to be able to play my ps5 and Xbox series s? I need to know if the hp omen 27i is a good monitor to pair up with my next gen consoles. Please let me know asap
Thanks for the shout out!

Austin i need help im getting a refurbished pc. what should I do?
The way Austin said "mids" at the end really sounds like spongebob.
Damn Austin ,he literally did'nt want to give that sticker away lol
I bought that laptop and immediately returned it, it has problems even doing basic stuff, and I just wanted an office laptop and it couldn't even do that.
What was the laptop?
@@MetalBlue69 that intel celeron 4gb laptop
i have that one or something very similar. its one of the worst laptops i ever had. i still use it because most of the work i need it for is off of web browsers so it works for that purpose
Since Windows 8/8.1 anything with less than a quad core, and 8GB of RAM for Windows is a no go, but I have a feeling if these machines came with a good lightweight Linux distro like Solus w/Budgie DE, and Libreoffice they would do just fine.
4:59 not the mkbhd waveform podcast trivia song
Whoever was in the room with you disappointed me, how do you not even know The Next Episode 😂
Those cheap Asus machines are not the worst when it comes to $200 laptops. You'd be surprised to learn that they have indeed got NVMe slots in them (the E210, E410 and E510). I've found that yep, it makes a HUGE difference, even a cheapo SSD.
i guses it my fav headphons beats audio omg
Weirdly enough some of those boost mobile phones and some us cellular phones are fully unlocked when you buy them, so they can be a good deal.
That sponsor was too smooth 😂
That desktop almost got me because I was all "If you don't want to game and you just want the basics, then it's fine". But almost 1000??? That's just highway robbery
5:43 when u fall down a flight of staire
I'm a builder all the way but i will say that Bestbuy does have some good gaming setups and a lot of times when you get them on discount you can almost get them cheaper than building them because they buy and build in bulk. Also he completely forgot to add in the cost of the CPU 250$ probably more like 300 a year ago which is the most expensive thing in that computer. Still not super great but not as bad as he made it out to be. Also it's not even labeled as a gaming pc.
“Sit down for a moment, shall we?”
Sir, I’m pooping.
Same. 1 year later.
The only way Beats can achieve MIDs is on reviews: "MID Headphones" lmao
Austin the AO3 is a good phone for older people it's not to flashy but all the way horrible my mom uses one and she likes it
