Yes, I'm in the UK and I've had this update on both my Firestick 4K Max 1st Gen for over a week now. The only advantage is that you can scroll horizontally and see all your installed apps. On the downside you have to click down 3 times to get to that row, which is now called "Your apps and channels".
It's just like the supermarkets moving stock around to push us to have to browse around more than we would normally do.
Reside in New York State USA. I have not seen that template / layout. I have the latest update as Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max version 2 gives me as of December 2024.
Thanks for the video Doc, I am still running an old second gen fire tv box so I don't get any updates but at some point will need to replace it and the way Amazon are going I might need to change brand, I'd best start looking at reviews and videos to see which are better.
I’m in Miami, Florida and my home screen on my Fire TV is still the same. It hasn’t changed or move further down as of yet. Hopefully it won’t.
Yeah I've got this since the update and it is really annoying. Glad you did the video though cos I was wondering if something had got into the system, now I know it's another garbage update. Thanks for all the info you put out in your videos it's really useful.

Im from uk Leicester and i have the update and my apps have moved down
Bought a fire tv 3days ago and downloaded latest software etc but has not got the new version you are showing
I live in New York I checked and everything is still the same on mine. Also checked for updates and none. Hopefully they won't change it.
I can't say I have noticed ,but will check when I next use it, but I have noted that amazon now pick up vpn usage. I use nord at the moment and cannot access prime video with it connected.
Have u tried multiple different servers
@DocSquiffy no but I will have a play when I get 5 mins as it is annoying to say the least as I am in France and French prime has different content.

I just turned on my T.V checked for an update and it's still the same. At least in my part of Canada
I am in the state of Virginia and at this time I don't have any change to my firestick.
In the U.S. and don't have this update yet. But what I'm curious about is, if Amazon is going to soon be rolling out a new device with a different OS, why are they bothering to mess around with what might be an obsolete device in a few years?🤔

@DocSquiffy Oh really? So you think the current Android-like OS will still be available for purchase after the new OS is rolled out? That wasn't the impression I got when the news first broke about it. Have you learned more about that?
@donnamentrasti2695 it's an interesting one due to the whole app store being android. The current os is good till 2027 but I believe it's more for the Alexa devices
@DocSquiffy When you say the "Alexa" devices... do you mean the Echo devices, of which the Cubes would be included, I assume?
Yes, I have that update annoying. I hate it try to move them back. No luck
They’ve been doing it on my fire stick for quite a few months on mine , thought they’d erased them but no after searching I found them lower down moved to front and after a few days gone again

I haven't experienced the favorites bar moving yet. BUT it no longer supports 6 apps. As of this morning, 11/26 my fire cube only supports 5 apps. Weird.
I have the FireTV, did the update last night & nothing has changed. Could be device dependant.

Mine does that to bottom of screen, but I just press home button and my list of apps return to centre of screen.

This update is still being pushed, and several posts on Reddit today from UK users state that they have already encountered it.

They have done this but in my case they went much further, and some how locked my settings, closed unable to get to application, my fire tv, etc..
And my apps side loaded , gone completely.

Hi doc I purchased a new fire stick max yesterday and it's all good and with a new update and it's not changed the position of the apps 😊
First World problems 😂 I get people like quick access to their stuff but a few extra clicks on a remote control aren't worth moaning about. If only there was a way to stop it connecting to Amazon, that'd end the pushed updates etc... Great channel by the way 😉👍

Did you pay for the premium if not than your limited to what can be done on Tivimate being I paid for the premium & have full access to all the features, hopefully this information helps

Not yet but not a problem. I make my first APK a menu GUI so I click on that, get all my apps with no ads.

You can manually increase the size of text yourself

Too be honest I’ve been thinking about ditching Amazon altogether.I have been using the onn box from Walmart on my bedroom and so far I prefer it.
Amazon will ditching android for their new OS at some point and side loading will be done.
