  • A tune I've always dug since I was a kid, FIVE BROTHERS written by Gerry Mulligan, & performed on the Suzuki SCX 56 and the Suzuki Sirius 56 chromatic harmonicas.
Chet Baker and Gerry intertwined flawlessly on many of the original recordings, so I've always heard it as a duet. I thought it would be a fun tune to compare the two Suzuki harps with, and I identified them as they're being played. Can you tell the difference? To me, the Sirius sounds a little "sweeter", but the SCX has some texture that I like as well. They're pretty damn close...
BTW That IS Gerry Mulligan playing along on the head. The play-along track I used had him performing, and I couldn't resist the chance to blend him in to my little harmonica duet. Cheers!
