You are so right that simple is not always easy. A lot of people overlook that living simple requires a lot of work, being willing to try things, and as you said accepting failure. But, on the other side of those failures is what you learn along the way. It helps to shorten the learning curve for other things that may be related. I was glad to see that The Wizard has now created himself a proper workshop.(smile) You too can now focus on your art work (which is amazing) now that a lot of the homestead setup is done. Wishing you three great happiness in the new year!!
Haha yes, the wizard is happy finally having a space to himself and all his favourite toys ;) Now he doesn't has to share it anymore with my gazzillion garden supplies :p Thank you Cherrie, and I wish you a great start of the new year too
Wishing you health, peace & prosperity in your land of slow living for the new year. Thank you for grand videos as we glimpse your serene, hard working lives
merci beaucoup pour votre authenticité réelle, et votre simplicité joyeuse! vous êtes des pionniers, d'une vie qui elle seule va devenir "possible"! loin du stress, des machines, du virtuel, et du mensonge! bravo! merci encore de partager!
One of my favorite parts of your home is the incorporation of water just outside your front door. That zone zero water feature was one of the best things you did on your property thus far. I appreciate you showing the water storage area for showering, etc, and talking about how that works. It's another little glimpse into the slow living adventure that keeps me coming back to your channel for every.single.minute of content.
Dearest Laura, another cracka of a video!! Thankyou for always being so genuine and giving of yourself and your life on your beautiful, remarkable and blessed homestead. I know from small experiences how tenacious one must be to achieve all that you have thus far! I can well appreciate how incredibly hard both you and Jonas have worked to build (and continue to build) the life you have carved out for yourselves and your gorgeous little girl. What amazing parents you are! I only wish I lived nearer to you so that I could help give you some much needed time to have a small break away…..but Australia is a bloody long way away! The peace and happiness you find in your heart when you are in nature resonates so deeply with me, I feel we are connected in some small way because of this. Thankyou once again for your kind and gentle observances of life and for sharing them here on your channel. I look forward to receiving your newsletter and as always, I wish you much love and abundance. May 2025 ensure that you and your beautiful family continue to flourish and learn through all the constant and precious work you do to make this world a better place. Have a fabulous day, Alli ❤xxx
Thank you so much for this thoughtfull and kind comment. Such wonderfull people in the world. Thank you Alli, warmly appreciated, and have a blessed start of 2025!
Really love this way of living, your location, home and beautiful family. We are in the process of setting up something similar down in Kent, UK. What we feel might make a simple life easier, is to not farm animals. That will take a lot of the work away and is not a necessary thing to do. All the best you all and happy new year!
The beauty and peacefulness and connection to nature certainly come through your videos! These are things most people have lost. Kudos to you for building them so well. The hard work comes through, too! Gotta be very satisfying!
Thanks for sharing your experience… that inspired myself…. I am 65 lives with my two dogs and two cats……for the last year I was bullied my straw bale house in the mountains in Colombia….for problems during the building, the burgers was not in off. Now I ready to move at the not finished house, I little afraid but with full of motivation. Buy the way I am a ceramics!
The life you have created just seems so magical, yet I can certainly see that it takes a lot of hard work. Now, you will find a way to have some days off to rejuvenate, as I feel that is so important. Eliana is adorable and growing so fast. As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother I can honestly say life is whirlwind. ❤ Happiest of New Years to You! 🥳
Thank you for sharing. Wishing you much happiness and accomplishments this next year. The workshop space must be so helpful. You have accomplished so much and I so enjoy seeing the things you both do.
A grand way to end the year! I too would like to be more self sufficient. It is a lot of work but the rewards are fabulous. Your little family is beautiful. All the best in 2025!
Oh! I love the workshop! Well, everything you do I love. Homesteading is not easy but like you say, managing the time is the greatest perks of this lifestyle and quality/taste of the food, being surrounded by beautiful landscape/nature/architecture, to your taste and taking the time to do, to do well, to enjoy … but don’t count the hours :) ahaha!
Thanks for the forecast! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Beautiful - a beautiful dream: & for most people in the UK, a ‘dream’ is all it can ever be…even a small ‘conveyor-belt’ dwelling with a ‘pocket handkerchief’ garden is beyond their means: Next best is an allotment - if you can get past the wannabe trendies above you on the waiting lists I wish this young, strong, healthy (& wealthy) couple all the best… Don’t you need motor vehicles for this - or would a pony & trap be sufficient? Unconvinced 🙄
Why did you choose to go for "off-grid" on energy? Is it necessity or a world view thing? Did you ask from power company for a price of creating connection to your house and it was (way) over the price of solar panels? In Estonia, they can ask anything from few thousand to yes, sometimes tens of thousands for building that connection. But if power lines are close, then it should be the lower end. That would solve a lot of issues. In the countryside, you still need generator or two for blackouts, that do happen. But still, vast majority of time, network energy works even in the countryside.
Yes it's true, we mostly liked the challenge of setting up our own energy system, and see if we could come up with 'off grid' and simple solutions to our energy needs. We did ask for a quote out of curiosity recently and were quite suprised by the amount they asked for though!

this is it... exactly how life should be, I will do this also on our land and I try to convince also my grandsons to live like that
You are certainly a brave, intrepid and beautifully creative family. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽

That's exactly why I do this organic thing...to not have to hear about others mistake.😊😊

That would defeat the whole purpose of off grid and being self sufficient
😘
Miss the husband in the thumbnails 😢🥹😅
The crazy thing is that when 3rd world countries live like this , they’re considered poor.
