    In January this year, at 57 and single after a long marriage, I Ieft the city and bought a small abandoned cottage in rural South Australia, population 80. I literally thought that if i stayed in the city, with a large mortgage, it would kill me. I know that sounds dramatic but felt very real. Best thing I've ever done. Thank you.

    Hola from Spain. A fascinating story & Thankyou for being so honest. We moved from the UK to Spain 20 years ago, to live totally off grid in a tiny cabin. No water, no electric, no mod cons of any sort. After 6 years we built a beautiful house, lived in that for 12 years, but still craved simplicity, so at the ripe old age of 73 we upped sticks and bought an old Spanish Casita that hadn't been lived in for over 20 years. Renovation & hard work ongoing. We love the life, we have a lot of land, Olive Grove, dogs, cats & still choose not to have a tv. I think our kids are proud of us for being adventurous, and like you we are still learning. Look forward to following your journey. Take care, hugs ❤

    Great story, thanks for sharing. I did the same. Left a job that I hated in the lower mainland, sold my house and bought a cute little house with two big workshops (and gardens) on a 1/2 acre in a tiny community of 700 in the middle of BC. I've only been here a couple of months and I'm still decompressing but I'm starting to feel better already. My life at 63 has also changed since 2020 thru so much loss, grief and isolation, leading to great personal transformation. This IS truly inspiring and I can just feel how grateful you must be. Unfortunately, many people live with just enough money to keep a roof over their head and the heat on without the business success or the savings and may not have a partner that is willing to make that kind of move.
    Don’t get me wrong, I am not dissing anyone that can do it- just wish there were more stories also of how or even IF people have made a change in the harder situations.
    You are lovely and eloquent. Keep living the dream and inspiring others to do the same.

    • @thetielife
      @thetielife  4 дні тому +12

      The truth is, before I grew my business, I was the person barely scraping by, just trying to keep a roof over my head. If you think about how much blood, sweat, and tears it took to reach my breaking point with my business-and how that breaking point eventually paved the way for my huge life transformation-that’s really the heart of it. But being a business owner is no joke. It’s nonstop, every single day. You can’t just clock out and leave your work behind; your mind is always on-planning, problem-solving, trying to make it all work.
      It took an unimaginable amount of effort, sacrifice, and sheer grit to get here, and I know there are people in far worse situations than I was!
      That’s something I’ll never lose sight of. But for me, pushing through that overwhelming, all-consuming hustle was what finally turned my life around. It’s been worth it, but man, it’s not for the faint of heart. ❤️ Thank you for watching and sharing your perspective.

    YT fed this video to me....first time seeing your channel. I am a fifty four year old single female, mother of three, Nana to two, and operator of my own small business (all loves of my life) in Ontario. My business is one that I’ve kept going throughout the last five years, with feelings of satisfaction, accomplishment, contribution, but also frustration, (with more frustrations over the last couple years though). After a marital separation in 2018, I was just getting on my feet in 2019. And then Covid, a challenge I met like other challenges, with practical perseverance. In 2022, I was at the same place you describe, of processing grief, and redefining what success means. It’s become clear to me over the last 2 years, even as I continue operating my business, (which I still love) that I crave space where I can regulate my nervous system, claim sovereignty with my own life decisions, and live in a meaningful way that allows me to support my own growth and those I love. And this awareness of what I need means a shift is coming for me soon. I feel this deep in my bones, but Im just not sure what that shift will be, in a practical manifestation, yet. I’m open to the potential, while actively taking steps. My biggest active step right now is trying to sell a commercial property. And in that process, which currently is slow, I have to remind myself I can’t force anything. Like you have done, I’m envisioning a change, which for me is space where I too can hopefully have a garden, chickens, maybe rabbits(?), and be close to nature for my two young grandchildren to spend time with me, so we can play, while perhaps continuing my business in another way. I don’t yet know the mechanics of finding that space, but I have an idea of where it will be, so I am looking. I don’t know how to do many of the gardening tasks, but I do know I’m a good student. And I look forward to learning. I love learning actually. And I’m grateful for my life education so far. Even though I stumbled upon this link, and was about to move on to start my days tasks, I’m glad I stopped, and took the time to watch and listen to you speak, which you calmly did with sincerity, and grace. By the tone of many comments, it’s clear your message has resonated with so many in similar places, who love your encouraging message, and how you delivered it. Like others, I am grateful that you shared it and that I found it, or it found me - (an algorithmic synchronicity perhaps ). 🙏🏻💜

    "Too much" is a thing and to recognize it, reevaluate, take action (yes while being brave) in order to choose to listen to our intuition, our senses calling us towards health and wellness and the necessity for very personal self honor is usually monumental in a woman's life while most certainly a tremendous time to radically blossom........ A strong sense of discomfort, a feeling of being off course and usually a time that we hyper analyze while focusing on a primarily logical perspective rather than leaning fully into our intuition, a true struggle within, yet in my opinion a transition phase to a birthing of sorts, a painful growth "chapter" and a time that takes legit bravery and courage.
    Michelle, I sincerely live your story and I am so very happy for you. I'm sixty one, living at a high alpine lake of California, fulltime for over foury years. I've been living my dream, not to say that life hasnt also had some tremendous challenges, yet regardless living my dream. I've arrived at a crossroads over the past three years due to a sudden change of my prior very good health and wellness, very active lifestyle that allowed a very intimate relationship to my environment and community. Ive had to reevaluate, consider radical change and possibly starting over elswhere once again and I can certainly see the possitives in that, but I'm also looking at the snowbird approach to a warm weather migraion for the freezing cold/icy months. Financially I need to figure out a way as my health issues have become a realty. Bravery, courage and change are so very dynamic with aspects of mystery, yet also so stimulating as new doorways open and the joys of discovery unfold.....
    I just "happened" apon your UA-cam channel while sipping some hot coffee, smiling from this share of yours and joyfully inspired. I'm reminded by the landmarks in time and opportunities for change that surface unexpectedly, at different times and throughout our lives that eventually delight, making our lives what they are. Sensing, trusting as we choose to take steps into the mysteries ahead and making the most of the creative journey is what life is truly about, in my opinion.
    Wonderful that you and James have your lovely partnership and along with family and community I wish to you endless beauty, joy, endless creativity and infanite love.
    Ode to talking stories and to our modern villages that can cross continants while resonating in the hearts of many.......
    Congrats to you and a beautiful day too,
    Tara

I think in the beginning she said something about it being hard to start over, especially as a woman. So I listened.hoping for inspiration about how a woman could create such a thing for herself. I know it is possible but very difficult. Much easier when you have a partner that loves projects and can build beautiful things for a rural homestead. I came for hope, but left depressed.

    In the heart of a dense forest, where the sun's rays had to fight for every speck of ground, stood a cluster of sticks.
    These were no ordinary sticks, they were bound together by an invisible thread of unity, stronger than any sinew or vine.
    Each stick, though humble in its individual strength, contributed to a collective robustness that defied the wind's relentless attempts at separation.
    Unite we win divided we fall like a house of sticks, unite heart of the storm, united we stand with might, winds howl, whisper old, ears calls.
    Divided we fall into the endless night, tapestry woven from diverse thread, each fibber a story, each colour widespread, together they bind, in strength combine, a fabric of nations, design divine, bundle of sticks.
    From valleys low to the mountain's peak, unity sought, it's strength we seek, when we are as one, no force can repel, In division, giants will fall.
    Trials and strife, dark through light, bond unite let us flight, above every wall, "United we stand," our collective call.
    Let us teach history, history teach us, wisdom of all, laydown our differences lay down our tears,
    Is the strength together, come what may.
    Here is to unity, standing tall, we will not fall, when we are many, yet stand as one, “United we Stand divided we fall" Prevail against them, conflict remains, universally resonant.
    Each of you is but a twig, frail and breakable, the same winds that break them through the ages, shield against the tempest, whispered sweet nothings of autonomy and freedom.
    The sticks, one by one, began to untangle themselves from the bundle, each thinking, I am strong enough on my own. but not strong enough, impermanence of strength divided, united, as a fortress," divided, fall like leaves in autumn."
    Forest retain this tale, not just of sticks, but of every collective that ever stood against adversity, unity, there lies an unbreakable spirit, a force that winds cannot overcome, division creeps in, a house of sticks, even the sturdiest can fall.
    Here's a prose piece inspired by the theme "United we stand, divided we fall," with a nod to Aesop's fable. Encapsulate the essence of unity strength and peril division, echoing the moral of Aesop's fable.

    Your life story is amazing but in my opinion you landed in Heaven on this earth plane. I am 77 years young and live in Arvada Colorado and would like to move back to my Hometown of Minturn which is a small mountain town where I was born and raised and love. God willing I hope to move back and hopefully with the Tesla technology of the Med Beds that will be released as soon as the Military Occupation is over that could make it possible which would heal and give my body extra years to enjoy life. So happy for you and James and love your channel ❤️❤️❤️

      @ I’m 36 I run an asphalt biz in Seattle and have a few rentals in that area. I paid them off along with the house we live in on 4 acres. Never made much more then 35-50k a year just did a lot of hard work and good investing it crappy land. We love it here and got away from the frenetic energy.

    does the politics of your country affect you at all? or do you feel you still have a lot of freedom there?

    • @thetielife
      @thetielife  День тому

      Leaving the city alleviated most of the heavy politics we faced during the pandemic. We felt it the most during that time and it was a big reason why we left the city. Living rurally it's felt much less.

      Are YOU on crack? Money isn't everything. It helps, certainly. But she clearly said her home life wasn't good, and she traveled to escape it, and worked and lived in hostels. Instead of being jealous and judgy and tearing others down, work on your own life.
