- Ted Summer’s Dance Devils (Harry Bidgood’s Dance Band) - I’m In The Market For You, Fox-Trot (Hanley-McCarthy) from the Fox Movietone “High Society Blues” [Label on this side has incorrect song title] Vocal Refrain by Sam Browne, Broadcast Twelve 1930 (UK)
NOTE: Harry BIDGOOD (born London 1898, died London 1957) British jazz pianist and dance orchestra leader. He received early musical education from his father and continued it at the Royal College of Music. He began his professional career just after the First World War as a pianist with De Groot at the Piccadilly Hotel in London. In 1926 he began directing recording sessions for Vocalion, which began releasing the famous Broadcast Twelve 8-inch records in 1928. Harry managed the house band for these records, known as Harry Bidgood And His Broadcasters. Other studio bands under his leadership included: The New York Nightbirds, The Manhattan Melody Makers, Al Benny's Broadway Boys, Ted Summer's Dance Devils, Ciro's Club Band, The Riverside Dance Band and Nat Lewis And His Dance Band. Bidgood was also the musical director of many films, including several starring George Formby. In the 1930s he released over 200 dance records as Primo Scala and his Accordion Band, which became very popular in the UK. Bidgood’s music programs were regularly broadcast on Music While You Work until his death at the age of 59 from stomach cancer.

Witam dziekuje pozdrawiam
Pozdrawiam Pani Jolanto :-)
Excellent
This is a song I have always loved and this is a most remarkable, particularly peppy version I have thoroughly enjoyed. Sam Browne's vocal was precious and the orchestration was so colourful! Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes, it's one more perfect example of the great British Dance Bands Era... And Sam Browne is such a lovely vocalist, indeed.
Witam Panie Grzegorzu 🌺 Bardzo ładna prezentacja nutka nostalgiczno romantyczna 🎉Pozdrawiam cieplutko 🌹
Witam i również pozdrawiam :-)
Amazingly balanced and danceable orchestration, complemented by the very appreciated vocalist, entering the troubled 30s with pep and leftovers of the passed 20s care-free days… not any more… thanks for sharing
"entering the troubled 30s with pep and leftovers of the passed 20s care-free days..."
A very inquisitive and intelligent description, I appreciate it. Thank you.
@@240252 I am self raised in the 20s culture and the fake glamour which led the world 🌎 to one disaster after an other, plus the movies industry myth…. When all this collapsed, after studying the true lives and consequences of stars and artists in general, the only thing that's left inside me are some sweet melodies and the dream 💭 of WHAT BETTER MIGHT HAVE BEEN… no more delusions. In any respect or matter…. Thank you for the most complimenting replay
What a lovely arrangement. I love the delicacy of the accompaniment of the vocal-guitar and other instruments come through so nicely. Thank you!
Wonderfully entertaining fox: splendid music, clever amusing lyrics, and fine singing. Lovely images of dancing in London's entertainment venues.
After Berlin falled in 1933, London became the most swinging European capital in the 1930s. Even more than Paris was, that's exactly what admit in memoirs those who were participants of the European einertainment in that time.
I LOVE IT❤
Thank you :-)
Dzięki serdeczne ....Miłe obrazki i dżwięki!!
