@@dandrummond9154 He saw and raised both children. He really was trusting and apparently never dreamed she was fooling around with their friend, and was so stupid as to get pregnant to the guy. She pushed him beyond his control and it was really callous and stupid of her.
Most of the time this doesn't happen. It's not naive to think the most likely thing will happen. She was wrong and an _unlikely_ thing happened. That's why it's called _unlikely_ and not _impossible._

She was my music teacher in 4th grade. It's so bizarre to hear it being talked about: I still remember the day when someone had to come into our class and explain to a bunch of 9 and 10 year olds that our teacher was dead.

It's hard not to victim-blame in this situation. This woman was a horrible wife, and that came back to bite her. I feel sorrier for her husband than I do for her. To be betrayed in so many different ways all at once is unthinkable.
I get that. She was definitely a shitty person but she didn't deserve what she got. I'm also opposed to the death penalty in all cases so there's no way I'd have anything but contempt for someone taking it into their own hands

I'm having a difficult time feeling bad for Bob and Kristien. Ken was in the wrong for killing her obviously but my God, how much abuse can someone take before they snap?
I can imagine that he must have felt like an idiot and bitter when he was confronted with how he was fooled. Well, partly he was a bit of an idiot, if his wife really stopped sleeping with him and still miraculously got pregnant. But who knows how she conned him into believing the child was his.
They snap is just a cop-out. Funny how these men only "snap" when there are no witnesses and women do far less of this "snapping".

This case appeared on "Forensic Files" and I'd encourage anyone to watch this guy's interrogation. It becomes really ludicrous when he gets to the part where he's blaming her shoes.

You never truly know someone. I’ve learned so much from watching Dr. Grande! My ex-fiancé was horribly abusive (psychologically and financially), but once he started cheating on me- the physical abuse started. He blamed me for his actions. I recommend watching the psychopathic husband if you haven’t already.
I even questioned if I was narcissistic or psychopathic. But, unlike my-ex, I’ve been to counsellors, psychologists and even a psychiatrist. My diagnosis is PTSD. 😔 Stay brave out there.

And exactly how does one go for decades ignoring a the obvious message behind a conspicuous and omnipresent diamond ring, given by another man, visible on his wife’s ring finger right next to the wedding band he himself gave her? She had $96K life insurance; property valued at $900K, I think. Yeah, the double rings, hmmm.
My grandma gave me her diamond ring and i wore it constantly as well. She could have just explained it away. I havent finished the episode yet though. But It's so easy for us to lie to ourselves. Especially if you've grown up needing it as a defense mechanism to survive...
Many women buy themselves jewelry. There are beautiful vintage rings with precious and semi precious stones, that used to be engagement or commemorative special occasion rings, so someone could easily acquire such rings. It's not really at all suspicious.
I have a diamond ring my mum gave me. I have another one my grandma gave me that has tiny blue diamonds. I have lots of rings. My partner doesn't interrogate every ring I wear. Wearing multiple rings on one finger isn't too uncommon either. I don't think it's that strange.

I lived in Palo Alto when this murder happened; and murders are so rare there (only 2 in the 7 or 8 years I lived there) that if one occurs, the media runs constant, in-depth coverage about it. In this case it was exceedingly obvious from the beginning that Ken murdered Christine. His attempts to stage the scene as a fall were pathetic, arranging for two witnesses when he "found" her body, etc., and his acting during his police interrogation was embarrassingly bad.

This is life ruining level of betrayal that this guy was hit by. I think this should be considered a crime of passion. I think 5-10 would be appropriate. Obviously you can’t let someone get away with murder Scott-free, but this is the closest I’ve ever seen it come.

Comical acting fail.
Of all the jilted lover/spouse homicide cases I’ve heard recently, this one is the least shocking as far as the betrayal ratio goes. I have seen so many with so much less compelling emotions involved. No excuse for killing her but he definitely had a valid complaint. That said; how TF did he not figure it out way sooner? In my experience people who don’t catch on to an affair are usually in denial.

I am a woman, and what happened to Ken happened to me. I had no inkling that the "family friend" who was often our house guest was in a years-long relationship with my husband. I was a very trusting faithful wife. When their daughter was about 15 years old and he and I were separated, a scorned ex-lover of his (in whom he had confided) spilled the beans. I was in shock. One of our own daughters was also 15 at the time. For the record, his name is not Bob, it is Luke.

This case and the murder of Kathleen Peterson (of The Staircase documentary) are very similar! Except Michael Peterson was found not guilty. I believe in both cases the husbands were guilty! It’s truly sad that Christine was willing to betray her husband without a second thought!
And to have Bob's ring on her finger so while with her husband. So disrespectful. She has no mortal nor conscious what so ever.
Peterson took an Alford plea. Not innocent. If you look at the $$ in that case, Michael had lots of motive. How much morality do you have if you kill someone? So he ignored reality and then killed her when $ gets tight. Why all of the sympathy for this? Get a divorce. Sooner or later.
This is one of the most talked about cases that was featured on Forensic Files because of the shoes he claimed he had warned her about. You will need to watch the episode to see Ken’s physical response when explaining the shoes. .
My son grew up believing another man was his father ( Ironically named Bob ) ! It wasn’t till he turned 16 and went searching for his birth certificate to take drivers education that he found out! Bob and his mom divorced when he was 10 and he thought Bob had abandoned him! His mom called and told me about him and I sent him a message asking to build a real when he was ready! When he turned 18 he came here for a visit and we have been building since then! But being lied to really screwed him up!
That's a big concern I have for my son. His mum has lied and hid the truth for over 45 years. He thinks he knows who his dad is, even though he has his mums surname. Let me explain. She was 23 at the time and I was a 12 year old boy back then. She was on a mission to get pregnant whatever it took to achieve it. Even if it meant grooming bullying and coerce and sexually abusing a 12 year old boy.
She disappeared once she became pregnant. It took me up until 3 years ago to track her and my son down online and 1 year ago to get her attention and to read my message I had sent her 2 years earlier. She blocked me and told those who she knew who had shared the post aiming to get her attention to take it down threatening them with the police ! I had made post asking for anyone who knows her to get her to read the message I had sent her.
She had not gone to police ! I know this because I did after she denied knowing me and started bullying others who had shared my post.
Paternity tests should be the norm.

My partners have never minded shopping with me; I used to go shopping with my friend and her husband all the time and it was fun, even if we were just grocery shopping. We like each other and were getting to spend time together. There are poems written about the intimacy of daily tasks done with the people you love.
Even my stepfather will joke about how long my mother takes to shop (and it's true, she does) but he'll good-naturedly wait outside the dressing room or whatever until she's done.
Men who won't go shopping with you strike me as the kind of men who wouldn't go into the store to buy you tampons because period products freak them out. Seems dismissive at best.

Fascinating case. I don’t condone Kenneth’s actions in any way but to say that Kristine pushed him over the edge is an understatement. To me, this was a crime of passion and desperation.

@@wmdkitty- violence is always wrong. With that said - Christine abused Ken emotionally and financially. She had an affair and Ken was the parent to the child that resulted from the liaison. His bio dad was a loser and Christine chose to stay married to Ken because he was responsible and capable of being a good parent. She decided to tell the son who his bio dad was without considering Ken’s feelings. She maintained her assets separate from her husband’s while allowing him to contribute financially and emotionally to the child’s upbringing and college education as well as possibly assisting her lover financially over the years. It is not hard to imagine how devastated and heartbroken Ken felt and with his careers difficulties at the same time was more than he could handle.

I divorced him and gave him everything- snakes are dangerous, just leave! 30 years later my ex is still screwing the married lady, he has the house but I have my integrity unlike Ken - I walked away.❤❤❤Our daughter was the innocent victim. Probably not, although the Juey might have convicted him of a lesser charge. Depends on the state statutes.
That would only make it murder second degree instead of first. Considering the mess and the fact he killed her in their kitchen, it was probably a crime of passion.

Yup. I knew a lady she was arranged married to her ex dead husband for 16 years. He was abusive mentally and physically ( seen him hitting her) she was this perfect wife quite, cooked ,cleaned the house and took good care of their children. She was beaten all the time for reasons like he didn't like her cooking, choked her for sex if she refused( she told me) etc. One day she disappeared. The next day she called her mother and said she had met a guy from work and her marriage with her husband is over. People in the community was shocked. I was too. Fast forward her ex husband end up living alone up until 3 years a go he died people said from broken heart. After that the lady kept going from one relationship to another, she's now married to her # 5 husband for 8 years. So yes don't estimate a person's...

No way! I was told that her friend Bob was Gay too! Then when my son was a year old she told me she lied and Bob was Austin’s dad! That she was having an affair the whole time! I demanded a paternity test and she refused! So I walked away believing that Austin was not my son! But now that he’s an adult we are working on building a real relationship! To crazy that so many guys named Bob are pretending to be Gay!

Isn’t it fascinating that Bob was the one who’s described as being a psychopath? Yeah, it sounds like he like to party, do, drugs, and was guilty of some white-collar crime. Not exactly a role model I would say. But Ken murdered his wife. And his wife engaged in a multi year affair, which involved intentionally having a child with her lover and conspiring to use her husband as a ATM machine with somewhat better parenting skills. When it comes to psychopathy, Bob is in third place.
Ken and Kristine were broke. She was planning on divorcing him. His killing her was more financially motivated than anything else. Kristine had a large life insurance policy that Ken decided to kash in on, instead of going even further into the hole from getting a divorce. He premeditated her murder more for that reason than her betrayal from her affair with Bob and him being Justin's biological father.

I loved living in the San Diego area as a child. Torry Pines, La Jolla, the zoo, Balboa Park, the city proper, Old Town, the Coronado Bridge. As a 5th-6th grader I Hawked the San Diego Tribune on busy street corners with a dolly of newspapers around getting off time every workday for awhile, lol. I went to George Washington Elementary School. It was a good school with caring teachers that taught in a secular fashion and taught us civics. Because of my teacher Mr. Beauchamp I now know that the name is pronounced "Beecham" lol... man I get lost in the memories of the visuals, the sounds, the smells, ...ambience. I actually loved the whole West Coast of the US back then. I suspect that it is not the same as I remember in a lot of places.... just passing thru... thanks for your videos, Dr. Grande. I remember seeing this case on a show like Forensic Files or some such. It showed the police interview with Ken, who blamed Kristine's death on the shoes she was wearing, saying that she liket them even though they were dangerous to wear while navigating the basement steps. (He even left one of her shoes on a step to try to sell the cover story.)
"It was those shoes! *It was those DAMN SHOES!!!"* he shouted, pounding the table in a very, very unconvincing bit of acting. Even the pounding of his fist looked fake: the timing was all wrong.
I agree with the good Doctor: he was guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt.
33 years of unconditional love...genuinely does not surprise me at all. The emotions you'd feel and things you'd think about...it would almost be difficult to comprehend, honestly.

I live in Palo Alto and went to the trial several times. A well respected Stanford doctor hypnotized Ken and presented what Ken explained under hypnosis which is really bizarre. The family had a little dog that Kristine loved. Ken had blood on his shoes and they were found in the car along with paper towels with which he had tried to clean them. Ken explained that the little dog got into the car and ran around the car with the bloody paper towels leaving blood all over the car. The Fitzhugh boys came to the trial. The oldest one was huge, like 6'5" or something, and the younger one was short and slight. Both the Fitzhugh's were short. The older boy seemed to have a lovely wife, who came to the trial every day with him. Very painful for the boys, I'm sure, but they seemed mature and composed.
My nephew was tall and fairly big. His parents aren't big or tall. His dad was 5'9." Smaller people can have bigger kids and vice versa.
Part of the motive for the murder was that Ken discovered/realized that his oldest son was fathered by the friend that Kristine had had a long time affair with, and visually, the Fitzhugh boys heights seemed to confirm that theory. I believe that at that time in the trial it had been confirmed that Ken was not the older boy's father.@@TheBOG3
