Hugely important point to anyone considering this: anoles need UVB. If they aren’t outdoors in direct sunlight, they will die without a UVB lamp that is replaced annually. Sunlight through a window does not work.

Theres a frog that's lived in my planter on my front porch for 3 years now. I think maybe originally a bird might have dropped him in my yard because theres no water anywhere around where I live. I toss bugs in there for him from time to time but he mostly survives on its own.

All of those indoor plants at the beginning could live outside, but only in Florida or California, or certain locations. It depends… but they’re sold inside as houseplants, in the houseplant section, inside the store, for a reason 😉 lol because they’re mostly shade plants. Not really dark shade but bright indirect light. So getting the benefits of the lights but growing towards it rather than into it. The best trees for anoles are things like Schefflera and Ficus trees, especially _Ficus benjamina_ with smaller leaves and lots of branches. Something huge like a rubber tree _Ficus elastica_ might have too much flat surface area, not enough climbing space, but of course they can adjust…ferns are good for them too. I’d say just don’t have the basking light on a plant. The basking areas should be a rock or driftwood, something that can absorb the heat for them to soak up. Plants should be the cool-off areas, in my opinion.
