I wish they would release all the early years (30 minute epsiodes) on a streaming service perhaps? I didn't start watching until the mid 80's I would love to see the show from the beginning

GLBizzie Exactly!! It’s like almost as if 1973-83 never happened. This show has a much richer history than just the Newmans and Abbott’s. Sure they were introduced in early 1980, but whenever the show goes into the history books there is very little mentioned of the first families of Genoa City the Brooks and Fosters. If it wasn’t for Jill, there really wouldn’t have been a beginning years. She’s the only original character left on the show now that Kay Chancellor passed. I wasn’t born when the show was on in its early years, but through tape collections and old readings this show was on fire in its early years.
Marcel Parker the show did go downhill after his death as far as interesting storylines and interpersonal dynamics, rivals. But the world is changing too, everything changes. I miss the dialogue and long scenes between two characters. The monologues where they flashback and talk to themselves, the voices in their heads that repeat over and over to show us viewers the emotional pain the characters are going through, etc...
I miss the old directing style (that’s in the first clip with Stuart and Jill) when the background scene of the Character was completely darkened and a dim spotlight would focus on them, it was a more personal feel.
Stuart was in love with Liz Foster (Jill’s Mother) and Jill broke that up by stealing him from her and saying that she was pregnant by him so that he would marry her instead of Liz. Stuart married Jill and once he found it to be not true he put her out, annulled their marriage, married Liz Foster and moved from Genoa City.
For the benefit of the doubt, Jill was turned into a bitch by the writers. The prime time soaps were gaining popularity and they wanted a villain in Jill the way Dynasty, Dallas and Falcon Crest had villainous campy over the top bitchy female leads
Brenda Dickson may no longer play the role of Jill, but anyone that speaks truthful and is Honest will say Brenda Dickson owns Jill. No one has ever been able to play Jill as Great as Brenda.

As much as i loved Jess Walton as Jill Brenda Dickson will always be Jill for me.. She was the perfect actress for that role

There are NO videos with Liz Foster to be found-why is that? She was a great actress and a big part of the Y & R.
