Your opinion. Jess and her deep cigarette voice and trying to mimic Brenda never worked and the character was written off the show. Brenda was classic, the original and the campy way they directed her to act was priceless. Jess was a royal snooze as Jill. Jess could not get the sex kitten act down either. She tried, but hopelessly failed
I can't believe one of the nighttime soaps didn't snap Brenda up after her tenure @ y& r came to a close. Even if she was blackballed in daytime, the producers couldn't deny she brought in the ratings.
She would of made a great Amanda Spaulding, the actress who replaced Amanda in the 90's(Toby Poser) had all the Jill mannerisms almost like a bad imitation and I could see the sensational promo's of Brenda joining guiding light ala Joan Collins!
She's kinda old to have played Amanda Though! The first actress as 25-28 but the character was like 18-21, Meanwhile Toby Poser was in her 20's in 1996, So Brenda wouldn't have been exactly convincing! Especially because she has the same age as Ron Raines! Now what I heard is that before the Blacklisting she was being considered to join OLTL, some say she might've played Dorian Cramer Lord!

Brenda's Jill was a calculating and venomous bitch who was ruthless in her pursuit for whatever she wanted something Jess' Jill lacked BIG TIME! Phyllis would be no match compared to Brenda's Jill.

She was really good when the show debuted in 1973 more subdued but still knew how to throw daggers with her looks. Loved the early days of Brenda but in the later years when she returned she was just so much fun to watch.
