I can't tell if this is genius writing that intended to make literally every character unpleasant to illustrate how we always manage to find something to fight over and nobody is exempt, or if it's written by a hypocritical athiest with a chip on their shoulder. Either way, it's a good example of how we're all pretty damn unpleasant.
It's impressive that nobody sounded like a pleasant person in this story.

This is the most realistic sci fi story. All humans involved are still flawed shit sticks. 10/10 story for realism
