I would swap my current youth to have been a teenager in the 90’s…
Never spoke a truer word 😅 she and the band are just timeless and just brilliant
❤❤❤
One of the most underrated bands in history... simplistic, easy on the ear, good for so many moods.. just beautiful!
Underrated ???? 😂😂😂
@@tomgengar i mean top 10 singles, quite few numb 1 one albums,critical acclaimed..hardly underrated..
@@tazchars8857 underrated not for sure . Texas are still very popular and apreciated .
@@tomgengar true i really. like their new album hi.
Ffs. Literally every video of everything that's ever been documented.
Julius Caesar. Underrated emperor.
23 years since I've been to Scotland. I heard this song in a department store a year ago...and here I am again.
I just heard it again in a restaurant last night and omg, I've been listening to it on repeat all morning! ❤
Texas were so criminally underrated, but all of their hits are timeless & still sound crisp, tight, fresh & are still fascinating to me.
They were hugely successful. This album was 6x Platinum.
As of 2017, Texas's worldwide sales were 40 million records and they have had thirteen top-ten singles on the UK singles chart and three number-one albums and eight UK top-ten albums on the UK albums chart
No way underrated.. 😳
Criminally underrated? Texas?! Now if you'd have said someone like Tracy Chapman I'd be in agreement, but not Texas. Bang average, like many many UK acts in the 90's Britpop era.

Met these guys at a convert they did at my local theatre while i worked there. I helped cook and serve them food in the day and then worked the show at night. I can say with all honesty that they are some of the most genuine, lovely people i have ever met in the industry ❤
Respect ❤
I believe you... they seam nice and normal.
This song is dedicated to my dad and my mother 😢 lots love to them Miss them always God bless them xxxxxx ❤
Saw Texas live last year-2023 and Sharleen Spiteri still has that superbly versatile voice -a timeless voice like her seemingly eternal looks. She not only sounds great but looks it too ! If you get a chance go see them live -best live band Ive seen in years .
I absolutely love Texas. So jealous!

I saw them in O2 last week absolutely amazing I couldn’t speak next day after singing along to most of songs 😍
One of those things SOOOOOO obviously 90s it hurts!!!!!!

Yep.
Tell me about it....
She's gorgeous, the music is the best
Probably a good thing they’re not from the U.S. Otherwise I would’ve been at every concert in my area.
I had this song on a mix tape in 1998. For some reason this song crossed my mind tonight, and once I played it here I felt like I was pulled back in time and place. I'm young and starry eyed again, and I'm in my old room in our old house, studying hard and believing that the future is mine. Thank you for the good music that helped me survive so far, although nothing went as hoped for.
Wow…this comment is everything and sums it all so succinctly… good times, and feelings, indeed. ✌️

I always think Texas was a very underrated band. They had tremendous songs and a beautiful voice!!!
+Luis Figueiredo Agreed. :) And I would like to add Skunk Anansie as well to that group of underrated bands.
And they were similar to the Corrs, especially since she looks like Andrea (one Scottish, one Irish).
Charlene gets her looks from her Italian heritage.
i seen them when they supported foregone conclusion
More like a shitty agent instead of underrated,, they are highly rated just not publicly opened into sociëty cuz of it :c
One of the most underrated band. Their songs are over 25 years old and are still fresh.
Julius Caesar. Underrated emperor.
So what is the official metric for 'rating' a band? How do we know if they have rated correctly, underrated, or over-rated? Dying to find out!
Alles kommt Perfekt
@@mattthomas1344 so right! on the radio every day on the BBC in the UK.(before Ken left anyway).
90s pop songs were simply awesome and Texas was a gem. I used to listen to the radio and study ... Herd this song in 97-98 and it still is in my playlist.
I have even seen my 8 year old son trying to sing it when it gets played in the car.
The opening bars punch you in the face with nostalgia.
That 90s/early 2000s nostalgia is crushing me 😭😭
Love to anyone who remembers that period 🫂
'97 was my last year of secondary school. I remember it as a year of great music and great album releases. Time has flown and the music was better back then!
I was living in London at the time, it was great..... I'm now 46 and missing it.
Love us all, feeling like the last-standing memory keepers of things gone forever.
Crying 😢
Huge shoutout! Glad to have been a teen in that period, best music and simpler times
This had got to be the most iconic use of rhythmic breaths in a pop song
Please upload in HD/4K quality! 240p puts this amazing song to shame.
In 1997 I was only 17 working my first job at Burger King. Certain songs STAYED on the radio...this was obviously one of them. So I learned it whether I wanted to or not and it is permanently ingrained in mind.
I love the chords that plays during the chorus. Sounds so heavenly and majestic.
Omg I was 25! I feel so old!
It's burnt in my mind for the same readons- I was 17 then too!

One of the best songs of the 1990's. 1997 was such a great year for music, Sharleen really is a wonderful vocalist!

Wow, this came out 27 years ago and I had forgotten about it. Thanks youtube for recommending this song... I recognized the song the first 5 seconds it started playing. Brings back amazing feelings from my youth. :)
If I have a time machine I will definitely go back to the 90s era! The best and last era that is really cool from music to movies everything!!!!!! ❤❤
Hauntingly beautiful. I spent time in Scotland in 2000. Music and dancing was everything there. A magical time in my life.

Heard this for the first time last year and this has become one of my favorite songs of all time. ❤
Missed these songs. Listening bc I saw you on rage this morning. You legend.
This song is pure nostalgia, I often go through periods of listening to music from the 90's I remember from my youth, then buy albums for 1 song. Usually these periods occur when I feel I'm missing something in my life lol.
Im 18 but same hahah

I agree with the missing something part..
Texas es uno de mis grupos favoritos!! Desde hace más de 20 años!!! Empecé muy jovencita a escucharles!!!
This song is my childhood. It takes me back to the times when life was easier, I love it!
So in love with this song and with her, omg. One of my favorite songs of the nineties.
Eternally optimistic sound. It's a lovely mystery how some people transmit an energy when they sing. She's like an albatross in flight with effortless vocals.
Beautiful song, text, melody, rythm.
Texas was always underrated
I dedicate this to the love of my life. Three years ago we ended and still cant get over her.. ❤
sorry to hear this :( is there any reason in particular why u guys couldn’t try again?
Get over it, dude. It's been years, and obviously she's moved on; and you should've too.
I love the way the music starts
With drums and bass and guitar parts
And then Sharleen's voice joins in
Singing words that make my heart spin
"Say what you want, but don't give up"
These lyrics fill me with such love
I sing along with all my might
And feel my soul take flight
The melody is pure delight
It lifts me up and makes things right
When life feels tough and full of strain
This song reminds me to maintain
The courage to speak my truth
To not let fear control my youth
To say what's in my heart and mind
And let my voice be unconfined
So thank you, Texas, for this song
It makes me feel like I belong
And when I hear those opening chords
I know that I'll never be ignored
💯💯💯💯❤️🥰🥰🥰
You are soooo correct I feel the same way ‼️‼️‼️
We deserve at least a 1080p version of this video
I remember being 7 years old and sleeping on the living room floor on a mattress after watching Pet Detective on TV with my brother. And the 70s were the golden age of soft rock music

Oh my god,,, this memories melt my heart,, just like yesterday we were young people with many romantic mysteries, and the songs of the 90's really felt close to our life
Takes me right back to those days... for me, one of the best then and still now. ... Ha, bitter-sweet nostalgia.
The best female vocalist Sharleen Spetteri not to mention being so pretty on screen. I think she has the most beautiful face among all music videos of all time. What makes her even beautiful, she doesnt' even know how pretty, beautiful she is. she is not that aware how BEAUTIFUL she is.
