    That's an ingenious way to get the wool into the roof rails.

    Subscribing! I really enjoyed this video. I learned so many great build tips from it and you both made me laugh along the way. Love your personalities. I just bought an old cargo van I'm going to build out so they will really help. Looking forward to more of your videos.

    Use chicken wire to put over the wool before the walls other wise with time it will fall and make your walls lumpy and have no wool towards the top. You can also do this for the ceiling as well 😉

    • @EncompassAdventure
      @EncompassAdventure  4 роки тому

      That's genius! Will the chicken wire rust over time you think?

      Hello All! Great looking build! We have not had any issue with slumping of our wool. The trick is to hold in place while you put the walls up and that is most commonly done via string or furring (framing strips). The wool will naturally expand into the space it occupies. Again, great job and thanks for using Havelock Wool!

      Encompass Adventure it shouldnt. I seen other use it and it hasnt rusted for them. It will only rust if you get it wet

      @@havelockwool975 hi! Thanks for watching our video. We actually went this route and used mold proof string, furring strips and a few staples here and there. Great product, thank you!!

    What a great help!! Thank you!! Can I ask how much insulation you went with of Havelock Wool? Now I'm worried I didn't order enough. Also... I LOVE your dimmer switches. Do you use these on 12Volt Ceiling lights? Or? How are they working? Do they dim all the way down? Thank you.

    Why did you not put sound deadening on ceiling? Parking under deciduous trees in the rain really does keep you awake I would say more iretating than the preverbial dripping tap. More on the positive vans gonna be great when done

    How many bags of wool did you end up using?

    I like how earnestly you approach everything but why not use self adhering stick pins for the ceiling insulation. I’m getting Havelock and was thinking of doing it that way.

      Hi Travis! Thank you for the compliment, so kind!! 😊 We thought about going that route, if we used foam board but didn't think they would hold the wool well and thought they would just slide off. Please tell us how it does if you use them though. We love hearing how others do it! 😊

    You all are amazing, thank you for posting such helpful videos! Question about the framing...are you are drilling into the van? What kind of screws are you using? Is it just the screws, or do you need nuts/washers or anything else? 🤦🏽‍♀️ sorry such a newbie to all of this!

    • @EncompassAdventure
      @EncompassAdventure  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Maria Jensen! Thank you so so much, we love comments like these, it's good to know, spreading what we learn is helpful!
      For the framing, we did screw directly into the van. For screws, we used self tapping sheet metal screws and we did not use any washers or nuts for the strapping/framing pieces. And no need to be sorry, we're all learning and we're more than happy to answer any questions we can. Hope this helps and happy building!

    What are the silver covers squares on the walls?

      Hi there! It's Noico sound deadener. It helps muffle rattling and other noises while driving and while you're inside the van. You can see us install it in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/5TdW2WtfZWI/v-deo.html
      There's also a link in the description for it, if needed. Another popular brand is Rattle Trap. Hope this helps!

    I am wondering is it possible to over stuff the wool to where it's a bad idea?

    • @EncompassAdventure
      @EncompassAdventure  4 роки тому

      @AllieKat, thanks so much for watching!! We would say yes, it is possible to over stuff the wool. It would be costly monetarily but also, from what we've learned, it's best to give it some room to breathe. If you have overstuffed in areas though, I don't think it will be harmful, I'm pretty sure we packed it tight in a few of the smaller cavities. We aren't the experts though, so it might be best to consult with Havelock Wool themselves. They're really good about responding and are very helpful. They've commented on here before too. Hope this helps and best of luck! Cheers!!
