First off I want to say you are doing a really good job with these videos, and I am loving learning more about the Cosmere through them. A little constructive criticism for you. I noticed that in a few of your videos that you spend time talking about why you decided to make the video or how you came to the idea. While I don't think it is entirely out of place, this sort of information should be left until later in the video, and you should use the first 30-40 sec with a hook, and then a thesis. For example in this video you could say something like "Have you ever noticed that the magic systems across the Cosmere seem connected? A lot of readers first start noticing the Cosmere by seeing the similarities between the magic systems. Sanderson has down this intentionally, and in this video we will go over Investiture, the overall system of magic in the Cosmere" or something like that. You can leave the comments about how this is a subject mentioned in your other videos until the end, and that can even be used as a hook to get people to watch your other content. Anyway, you are doing a great job with your videos, and please only take this as someone wanting to help you keep improving
Hey you know what, that's actually some really good and constructive criticism / feedback. Thank you so much! I've asked so many people for feedback and criticism on my videos and all responses have just been some basic personal preference things, but this actually would make the videos objectively better. I appreciate it more than you realise!
@@RavensRants For sure man. It is something I have noticed that I do in my own writing, so I totally get it. Often times I will write out an introduction that has the "why I am writing about this" stuff just to get my juices flowing, then I go back when I am done writing and delete the first couple paragraphs and re-write them into better introductions now that I know what I am going to say.
@@kevinatkinson5088 I'll absolutely be fixing this since I didn't even realise I was doing it. Already recorded the next couple of videos, but from the new batch I'll recording I'll make sure that I go back to check it and fix it :)
As soon as I saw this I just screamed “YEEEESSSSS” I feel like I’ll never have to suggest any videos, because you’re just that on top of it! Keep up the great work man! I’m so proud to have subbed so early on😆👌
@@RavensRants Thanks! I’ve been really into the magic related videos that you have made, because I’ve been engineering one of my own. If I were to suggest anything, it would probably be something relating to concepts of magic systems and their balances, limitations, sources, and what powers are granted, as well as how they are used practically as opposed to specifically a warrior. Especially exploring comparisons of different magic systems would be interesting. Hope some of that may have inspired some ideas lol
@@Tguchi26 Those ideas are very much Meta-Fantasy concepts and what I'm building up to. My plan is to get into videos like that once I've got a solid base of content talking about more specific things (like the Cosmere). Give me a couple months and you'll start seeing those videos come out for sure. If I had the time to upload more videos in a week I'd got to it sooner, but I'm maxed out with 3 at the moment. Kinda hitting my limit for now lol
@@RavensRants yeah oh course. I’m actually very impressed that you are able to put out three videos of this quality every week. That is definitely a big factor in why you’re one of my favorite new you tubers for sure
@@Tguchi26 I'm glad you appreciate it. I figured I might as well give this UA-cam thing my all. If after a generous amount of time I was unsuccessful then I'd know it wasn't for lack of trying. And considering I hit 400 subs today, I'd say I'm on the right track :)
@@iveybullard8988 Definitely something that's crossed my mind, and I might do it if there's interest. I'm especially interested in the epigraphs of letters from Hoid and the epigraphs of the death rattles, but I'd have to consider if I could make a video out of it that people would enjoy. Me just reading and commenting on them would be quite bland. That said, the upcoming video on Monday will actually reference a Death Rattle epigraph so that's something XD
@@RavensRants I am fascinated by the death rattles. So thats awesome! I totally understand how big of a project the epigraph videos would be, and i would be you that we all would love them.
@@RavensRants - Yeah, been aware of anti-matter propulsion, but it never occurred to me that anti-investiture might be used in a similar fashion. Very well thought out.
Found your channel a few weeks ago and I think I've binged every video. Could you make more Mistborn Era 1 videos tho, since I feel like they get alot less hype then Stormlight Archive does. I'd be interested in character analysis for Vin and Elend particularly
This is absolutely the plan, but it's been so long since I've finished Mistborn Era 1, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing those videos until I do a re-read. Once I finish Era 2 and Arcanum Unbounded, I'll be doing a re-read of the whole Cosmere starting with Era 1. So those videos are in the pipeline for sure, just gonna take some time :)
Are not the stamps on Sel also a form of bond? Granted it does not include a bond to a living thing, but the stamp maker is still bonding something to an object. Just a thought and it may be off base.
A minor exception to the ‘genetic disorders cannot be healed’ A genetic disorder that the individual sees as a problem or something thrust upon them (Renarin’s poor eyesight and fits, or a trans individual’s at-birth sex) will be healed and/or overwritten by stormlight healing and regrowth at the very least.
How would you categorize aluminum/ralkalest? Is it a kind of anti-investiture because it seems to counteract it? But they don't destroy each other so they aren't true opposites. Is it more like a ground wire in electricity, where it just nulls any investiture it comes into contact with? All of the explanations I come up with have obvious flaws. If it weren't Brandon Sanderson, I'd say he introduced anti-investiture to make the war have more permanent consequences and give mortals a weapon against shards, but because he introduced that purpose so early and because it's Brandon Sanderson, that's clearly not the full purpose.
Aluminium and metals are a whole video on their own. Each metal interacts differently with Investiture depending on its form. Aluminium has the property of disrupting Investiture. Good as a weapon now and good as an insulator for Space Stage Cosmere :)
You wouldn't consider nightblood a negative investiture?🤔 Given that it takes massive amounts of breath just to be used and idk but possessing people and burning there soul alive is pretty evil seeming to me.🌃🩸🗡
Remember that End-Negative is not the same as evil. And if you mean Anti-Investiture, then I could kind of see that it has similar properties, but it's not the exact same thing. Anti-Investiture also doesn't mean evil. These terms are just descriptions of the specific properties held by that kind of Investiture

Using anti-matter powered explosions to power FTL travel is a long-standing sci-fi trope and knowing Brandon, this theory makes sense to me
