Thank you for another amazing season of AI Survivor! I appreciate all the work you do when it comes to the spreadsheets, fantasy contest, picking contest, preparing the games, etc.
I have a suggestion for next year’s championship: the removal of barbs/barb cities. The reason we do a mirrored map with no tribal villages is to make the championship as equal as possible, but the positioning of barb cities make the map inherently unequal. But again, thank you for another amazing season and I hope you get well soon!

Thank you for this season! If you're planning on doing more Civ IV solo games, here's a suggestion. Choose a philosophical leader (Sitting Bull?) and build an economy where you lightbulb techs with great people while forsaking technology spending. Should be interesting!
Gandhi starting multiple wars in game 1 set the tone for a season full of surprises. Thank you for another great season , Will be there for the next one whenever it is !

This was a fairly anti-climactic championship game. I am wondering if maybe you should consider turning off barbarians for the championship game. Or at least barbarian cities. The symmetrical map seems to result in massive swings, based on exactly where the Barb cities appear.
Either that or embrace the randomness and just run a normal map, although I don't know how much work it is to find a map that's reasonably balanced for all entrants.
Yeah, barb cities defeat the purpose of a equal mirrored map by adding random roadblocks that inhibit some civs more than others

Louis, the perfectly weird champion for a perfectly weird season.
Would be cool to see unrestricted leaders or random personalities being implemented into these AI survivors. I'd love to see different results than having the same leaders reach last round with a small chance at an underpowered/not good leader getting to it. It would also be good if different types of maps are used for these. Feels a bit repetitive though 😔This year was interesting but got a bit too stale at the end, I loved S7 opening round G1 and G2
I think it’s fine as is: there are enough upsets as is and it’s cool to root for certain AIs cause of their personalities- I root for warmongers like Temujin and Shaka cause they make the game absolutely hilarious as well as underdogs like Sitting Bull and Frederick to see if they call pull off upsets.
I mean, look at how many upsets there were this year, look at the championship leaders:
Louis- had no wins before this season
Saladin- had only one win before this season
Churchill- had only one win before this season
Ramesses- had no wins and only one runner up before this season
Mehmed- the only leader in the field to have playoff success but outside of his season 5 win he’s been mediocre
Darius- had only one win before this season
@@TampaBayGator20 Ik this season was an exception, however, all I'm saying is I'd like to see something different as outcome and I'd like to see various different settings being used rather than using the same ones over and over. That's how it felt very repetitive for me sadly. As you mentioned, Shaka makes the game more entertaining. I don't think I've seen a game as hilarious as that one or as hilarious as one of the AI only game I ran just for fun (the one I ran for fun had Darius, Shaka, Joao, Hannibal, Sury, Saladin and Julius Caesar. And it had a total of 28 dows 😅😂). Maybe it's just me, but I like seeing more variations of AI survivor
@@djray8 Yeah, for me the AIs having set personalities is better because it’s fun to see opposing personalities clash, like when Shaka declares a billion wars while everyone else is trying to just tech, I feel like him and others being given random personalities would make it less interesting.
Also, more importantly, a lot of AI survivor fun is the picking contest and fantasy contest, and having random unpredictable personalities would make them impossible to hold because you can’t exactly make guesses if everything is random
@@TampaBayGator20 But then it would be a bit boring to watch to if no setting variety. I'd love to see leaders who can't win a game at all advance. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same leaders over and over on playoffs and last rounds if this runs under the same setting for the following years. This is one of the reasons why I wouldn't submit predictions because of relatively predictable stuffs right from the start. It's a fun thing to run, but same settings makes them not as fun to watch😔
I note that wars when early tend to make losers of both sides....or is that wrong?
Unless one side has clear advantage, that is correct. Catapults make the difference. After that AI can actually get something done.
It seems indeed the 2 barb cities unfairly slowed down Darius. Perhaps no barb cities next season?
Louis' win is appropriate for this season. Disappointing final.
