In the first case, the mom was so wrong; the man took responsibility until he found out he was just a possible father and that there were other men. He was present at birth and signed the birth certificate so I believe him. The mom lied and only started talking after the child was older and her relationship ended with the man

My ex-husband was a horrible husband to me but I never bad-mouthed him to my kids. He and I got along for the sake of our boys even though we were divorced.
Although my parents didn't divorce (my dad died), to this day my mother bad mouths my father even when he is long dead.

It shamed me, and I immediately stopped and held my tongue. I just listened when they expressed disappointment in him over the years. I vented with my friends or my mom…I didn’t say bad things in front of them.
Kids eventually grow up and see the truth for themselves. If as their mom you hold yourself in a classy way, they will respect you even more.

But can I encourage you? Learn from this for sure…but you CAN better your life and his whether he steps up or not! It will always be easier if they do…but after my divorce I went back to work as a CNA, took a short course and became a phlebotomist, kept working. He didn’t ever give me more than $100/month for three kids! I went back to nursing school and became a nurse. Each time getting more money. You CAN make it without the dads stepping up ladies! It’s just harder….but SO worth it! I was a good role model for my girls and now have 3 daughters serving the Lord with their husbands and 9 beautiful grandkids! Happily married to a godly and loving husband of 11 years❤️ God is so good!
Admit your mistakes, ask for God’s help, and trust and obey Him. You can turn your life around! 🙏🏼
