You are the first person I've seen on UA-cam who did a product review on Klorane line of products. I am in love, love, luv...I obviously use their products and my hair is always soft and tangle-free. The hair mask is THE BEST! I have not been able to find any hair conditioners that can match the effectiveness. I highly recommend it as well.
I use Wen cleansing conditioner to cleanse my hair. I've been using this for years. Love it so,so very much! I'll never go back to shampoo again. The smell is wonderful and the way it's helped improve the health of my hair is better than anything else I've ever used.
Melissa Maker :-) Thank you for responding. It's very, very good and so worth it. If you decide to try it, get the set from wen.com to get your starter set. And in the future a tip is to buy it from QVC. They always have great sets and prices. Chaz Dean ( The maker of Wen) has videos here on youtube that explain how to use it. Also, he teaches very well when he's on qvc. I hope that you decide to try it and that you love it as much as my family and I do. I even got my 21 year old nephew hooked on it :-) His hair is super long and looks great. Best of luck :)
Can you do an update to this video where you experiment/let us know how it works after you've worked out? I'm wondering if I can shampoo, workout and still get that 5-7 days in between just using the dry shampoo. Your videos are wonderful and you're my favorite blogger! Between these videos and your cleaning videos, I'm a lot more confident in life. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing the results of your research, Melissa! I have issues with my hair so I am always searching for good info and this video is great! I appreciate the how to and I wonder if you have ever tried Living Proof. After trying numerous brands I have found them and they are just awesome : ) no animal testing, free shipping from their website anytime, amazing science behind the brand and their products WORK! I love your cleaning channel as well, girl please never stop posting on both channels! Cheers!
You are welcome. No I haven't, but I have been told about so many cool websites and companies which make shampoos. I am going to have to investigate! Thanks for sharing, and for your kind words!
Wow....you have such long hair and only needed such a LITTLE amount of shampoo....very impressed. I have coloured hair (gotta cover the grey) and use shampoo and conditioner and BioSilk from the hairdresser. A little goes a long ways for me as well...I usually let it air dry and that has helped my hair a lot....used to always blow dry when I was working....now after it's dry I just go around the bottom with the curling iron and I'm done. I can get away with a weekly shampoo....when you're an old lady it doesn't get so greasy anymore....LOL Good Video Melissa!!!
Great tips, thanks Melissa. I also shampoo my hair twice, use a leave in conditioner and use dry shampoo between washes. I've tried what seems like a zillion dry shampoos and still haven't found one that I like (doesn't leave a white residue and has a pleasant smell). I'm definitely going to check out klorane because you recommend it!
Just found your channel. I l9be clean my space already 😊 I always wondered how your hair looked so amazing. Found most of your reccomendations at well.ca can't wait to try them. I have a hard time finding something for my dry thick hair. Thanks for sharing 😊
I always put my shampoo in water (like a half glass). It s more gentle for the hair, I mean the product. And it s covering more hairs and more faster and easer.
Hey Melissa! I wash my hair twice too! I use lush neptun. As a dry shampoo i always use my own DIY powder: cocao, baking soda, starch. It`s grate for dark hair, and smells good to!) Thanks for your video!
Good review! I will buy some next time I am at Shopper's Drug Mart. Excited to try this! I also use coconut oil and almond oil for my hair and it has helped big time. Thanks for the video.
great ! i had once a Klorane shampoo too, but i didn't know I should put it twice ! good to know that you can use one bottle for so long ! now i know which brand i will buy next time ;) thank you melissa
My favorite brand of shampoo/conditioner is the Giovanni line, especially the 2Chic products which have Argan oil, Moroccan oil and phyto-keratin for ultra sleek hair. It is paraben and sulfate free, animal and Eco-friendly, available at Loblaws/Superstore and always has a $2 off coupon which means they cost $7.99 each instead of $9.99. And they smell soooo good!!! I also love the Exotic Nectar leave-in conditioner by Live Clean, smells good and leaves my hair silky soft. Their shampoo/conditioners are pretty good too.
I will look those up! Yes, I used to use Live Clean. I found that my hair had to be washed more frequently with it...do you find that? I love the smells though :)
In my hair care routine I use different shampoos, but the one I'm using right now is the Garnier Strength and Shine 2 in 1 and my mascara is Tresemme Color. I also intend to use a Pantene mascara soon :)
Melissa Maker yeah. Right now onw of the shampoos I love is the Pantene with anti-aging sérum. I absolutely LOVE it, it gives my hair so much body and volume! You should definitely check that one out :)
New subscriber! I totally agree about the dry shampoo. I love that stuff! My hair is curly so I may need a little different plan but I will try the shampoo and conditioner. Thanks sharing.
Your hair looks like you just came out of the salon, I'm not even kidding! I use pretty natural products myself like you, I don't use shampoo or conditioner with SLS. I also use a hair mask once a week. But every few weeks I will use a clarifying shampoo to clean my hair of any products or extra build up. You should definitely do more hair videos :)
Wow that sounds amazing. I wash my hair every day with Redken All Soft shampoo & conditioner. It doesn't build up in my hair so I never need a clarifying treatment. I also have a perm so once I hop out of the shower I do my makeup then pic my hair then run Aveda style prep then Be Curly (they work together) through my hair. I get too much oil build up in my scalp not to shampoo daily. Maybe I need to try the dry shampoo you've got! But I also don't get split ends, have dry hair or get product built up. I've just got an oily scalp.
Curly hair needs a completely different treatment than straight hair. A friend of mine has extremely curly hair and she has her product mix that she swears by. When you know you know! It might be worth a try - the dry shampoo!
I love using silk on my hair. It could be a bit pricey but a little goes a long way! If my hair is ever, dry, frizzy, or tangly, it fixes it right away! Totally recommend silk. Probably not best for people with really oily hair though. Hope that helped someone! :D
You got me form 5 to 7 days clean hair ! I wash my hair EVERYDAY ... what it helped me for greasy hair too is scrub the skull with lemon juice let it on for 30 min then take a shower ,Amazing ! with a shampoo like this I think it's a A+ experiment !
Yeah - I had to wean my hair off frequent shampooing, and once I did that I was able to go for longer stretches without washing. It was worth the effort!
Do you think this will work for me? I have black fine hair and its oily on the roots and dry and damaged on the ends . I want something that I can shower every 2nd to 3rd day (because I exercise every other day)
Do you put coconut oil on wet or dry hair? I love using it as a hair mask but I want to try using it as a leave-in shiner upper if you will. In the past I used argan oil on dry styled hair but it's a bit pricey and sometimes leaves my hair greasy. Would greatly appreciate your feedback! Thanks for the video!
I put CO in dry hair, just at the tips. I have tried it as a mask overnight. It works, you just have to shampoo really well! I found argan oil left my hair super greasy which is why I moved to coconut.
Once a month/6 weeks I will take half sea salt and half shampoo and wash my here with that once, rinse it out of my hair en dry my hair by air. Then I take a little bit of hair oil and put that in. The salt cleans all of the styling and care residues out and my hair feels very clean. Gonna see if your brand is available here in Europe.
Yeah - me too! I've never had a shampoo that can get me there. And my hair isn't gross either toward wash time, trust me I wouldn't do it if that were the case!
I also tried a no poo shampoo. not the baking soda mix stuff. Deva curls and I can't remember what the straight hair one is called. no silicones, parabens, etc. It wasn't too bad actually. It's worth a try.
Love it! I never thought much about what I use on my hair, but I love dry shampoos...they give my fine hair am incredible boost! Was Chad filming you in the shower? LMAO! :-D
Finally someone who understands why I air dry my hair and don't use a blowdrier:) Why don't you brush your hair while wet? I used to wait for them to dry, but it was harder to brush and I felt like I'm doing more damage. When I brushed them while wet it feels easier. What's the story behind it?
I usually let my hair air dry as well...only blow my bangs dry. I use a wide tooth comb to smooth out my hair while wet and then brush it when it is dry. My hair dresser says that I have healthy hair because of that. I also rarely use a flat iron on my hair....that helps too. Oh...and I only wash my hair on average every 3 days.
Thanks girls, I'll see for a couple months if it makes any difference. I'll use a wide tooth comb too. The double shampooing works, even though I use my normal shampoo, from 2-3 days period now I have 3-4, and I just wash them cos they don't feel fresh, but still look clean.
Alicja Adamska I was told that your hair is more susceptible to damage when wet, so it's best to wait until dry. However, you can use a wide tooth comb when your hair is wet so long as you are gentle!
Whats do you do to style your hair in the mornings between washes? I find that my hair gets kinked and awkward from sleeping, and that's why I usually wash and blow dry my hair every day. thanks!
U 👀look 😑serious in this 🎥vid mel!!!😕 I have somewhat moderate oily hair and I have to wash it every other day, but if for some reason I skip 2 days in a row what I usually do is sprinkle some baking soda all around my scalp and that actually helps to reduce the oiliness in my hair and scalp... I know it sounds crazy but it really does work!!! By the way, ur hair looks so healthy, shiny & super smooth!!!! 💗 ur 🎥vids!!!😉
@melissa maker I washed my hair today . And I forgot about brushing it after it dries . I am scared is impossible to untangle once is dry. I will let you know in 2 days after I washed to see how to goes doing it your way . Thank you for replying :)
I like Klorine's dry shampoo. It's great but more expensive than others. Bastile isn't that bad either. the mark anthony you showed is terrible. I might try the rest of the line.
I agree, it is more expensive. I look for it when it goes on sale, or sometimes I'll see a coupon for it and actually clip it out and keep it in my wallet. It is worth the money though. Yeah, that MA product was really awful. I haven't tried Bastile because I think the scents are too overpowering, but a lot of people really love the product.
Melissa Maker While it may be expensive, if you are only washing your hair every 5-7 days, I think it is likely cheaper because it will last you longer.
I know, if you see some other videos she just makes her way in. She loves being on camera, when we film we've just given up trying to get her out of the room. I think she's a reincarnated celebrity!
You are breaking your hair rubbing it between your hands to apply the product or just to wash, just apply it gently like if you would brush your hair with your hands, moreover, it makes the products penetrate better ! Take care! By the way, your videos are very useful and interesting! Love from France :D
Klorane sounds expensive, but if it's worth it, I will try it. But, not to be mean, but you sound like you never heard of shampooing 2x before. I mean it's right on every bottle and I thought everyone knows, "Lather. Rinse. Repeat." Maybe you just didn't take it seriously?
It's not too expensive, I mean it's not as cheap as Herbal Essence, but it's not a fortune either. Yes, I know it says to do it twice on the bottle. I was never taught to do it and never bothered to try doing it twice. I just wanted to share with people that yes, it actually does make a big difference if you do it. No one I know does it (when I asked my girlfriends)...and now that I know how well it works I talk about it as a very important step.
u have to introduce ur cat, so cute! They always say that the master looks like his animal and it goes for you, you look like a nice cat:)(its a compliment, yeah)lol
I've started to suspect she is a reincarnated celebrity. She cannot stay off camera.. We have given up trying at this point and are just rolling with it!
You are the first person I've seen on UA-cam who did a product review on Klorane line of products. I am in love, love, luv...I obviously use their products and my hair is always soft and tangle-free. Yeah - I hadn't seen any other out there and it's so good! It's really great stuff!
Many have asked for an UPDATED HAIR CARE ROUTINE - so, here it is!!
Thanks for watching!
great

I use Wen cleansing conditioner to cleanse my hair. I've been using this for years. Love it so,so very much! I'll never go back to shampoo again. The smell is wonderful and the way it's helped improve the health of my hair is better than anything else I've ever used.

Klorane is a very famous brand here in France ! 🇫🇷
The dry shampoo is their bestseller !
Great products and great vidéo !
Thanks so much - I am not surprised how famous it is, I hope it gains notoriety here in North America too!

At some point I think I might do that, yes!
New subscriber! I totally agree about the dry shampoo. I love that stuff! My hair is curly so I may need a little different plan but I will try the shampoo and conditioner. Thanks sharing.
Oh I am all over the dry shampoo!

Shampoo bars work best on short hair. I use Nioxin 3 since I'm older and my hair is thinning. I would like to try the dry shampoo!
Yeah, I can see why. It was pretty challenging to use in my hair, that's for sure.
Your hair is very nice :) Please do a couple makeup tutorials as well as health & fitness videos!
Thanks - I am going to think about that for sure!
Do you put coconut oil on wet or dry hair? I love using it as a hair mask but I want to try using it as a leave-in shiner upper if you will. Gonna see if your brand is available here in Europe.
Yes that's a great way to clarify your hair - I bet your hair feels awesome once you're done!
How often do you use the coconut oil? I've actually never tried it. Thanks for the tips! I'm definitely noticing some damage in mine from coloring.
Oops, never mind, I just now found the Coconut oil video. :)
You should also try the aveda hair products. Absolutely amazing!
I know - they are expensive but the smells!! WOW!
hey Melissa, i use Wen hair products...they are awesome too....try it, and let us know if u like 'em....
I've heard about them and have seen another commenter mention the brand. I will investigate!
If you ever get a chance, try the Ovation cell therapy. I swear by it but its a lil pricey to keep it in rotation. Love the video, as always!
Interesting, I will look that up!
All your video are so informative, love these videos and clean my space video
Thanks so much, Rachel Taylor !
very informative! 5 to 7 days of not washing is really long! but hey it works for you, I'm impressed with those products haha.
Interesting, I have to say I'm a bit turned off by the whole thing but I am always willing to keep an open mind.
Have you done a video on keeping pet hair around the house and on clothes under control?
Love it! I never thought much about what I use on my hair, but I love dry shampoos...they give my fine hair am incredible boost! Was Chad filming you in the shower? LMAO! :-D
Hahaha, well, yes he was...there was no other way to get the shot! It wasn't a selfie situation if you know what I mean ;)!
Thanks for doing the research on all this and sharing it with us - very informative :)
You are most welcome!

Thank you Melissa Maker for your answer, it feels so nice to get a response straight from you :) I love your hair!
Whats do you do to style your hair in the mornings between washes? I find that my hair gets kinked and awkward from sleeping, and that's why I usually wash and blow dry my hair every day. thanks!
I re-touch it with a blow dryer or flat iron depending on my hairstyle. It never looks nice when I get up!
U 👀look 😑serious in this 🎥vid mel!!!😕

LOL - I guess I did look serious! Baking soda helps? Wow, yet another use for it :)
What kind of heat protectant products do you use, if any?
I don't use one....
Melissa Maker Ah. I've tried several and I haven't found one that doesn't leave a heavy residue in my hair.
Do you wear a shower cap when you shower (when not shampooing hair) or do you have it up, or let it get wet on days that you don't shampoo?
Yes I do wear a shower cap, nothing, and I mean NOTHING, looks hotter.
So you brush your hair after it dries? :O OMG, is it better? I never heard that before. Thanks for the tips :)
Let me know how it goes for you. My hair is still tangly, but it is less damaging (that's what I've been told).
@melissa maker I washed my hair today . And I forgot about brushing it after it dries . I am scared is impossible to untangle once is dry. I will let you know in 2 days after I washed to see how to goes doing it your way . Thank you for replying :)
on average, how often do you go in between washes? I know you said it could last 5-7, is that how long you normally go? thanks :)
Yes, that is how long I normally go!
Try the Wet Brush, they are amazing! Total game changer. :-)
I'm going to investigate, I think my hairdresser has one!
I have thin but oily hair...Is it possible for me to use dry shampoo?
Yes I think so for sure!
shampoo bar recipe
10 oz palm oil
10 oz coconut oil
8 oz olive oil
8 oz castor oil
12 oz distilled water
5 oz lye
.25 to .5 essential oils at trace
Wow - that's amazing that you make your own!
That's funny how your cat got on your lap while you were talking. It's a very cute cat too! I got a kick out of that. :)
I know, if you see some other videos she just makes her way in. She loves being on camera, when we film we've just given up trying to get her out of the room. I think she's a reincarnated celebrity!
Yes, I saw more with her in it, and it is sweet how she just loves the camera that way.
I didn't know they create shampoo bars!
Interesting products, I haven't had much success with them but feel free to investigate!
It's now February?
A little late in uploading this video ;)
Thanks for watching fern pallister !
Haha! I really like this video! Worth the wait!
Great video
Oh I thought you were saying CHLORIINE (the chemical)
lol, me too! i thought at first, wow thats a new thing, lol
I know - I thought that too when I was learning about the brand - sounds like chlorine!
Melissa Maker i go swimming a lot so i thought you said that too :)
Klorane is a great brand.
You are breaking your hair rubbing it between your hands to apply the product or just to wash, just apply it gently like if you would brush your hair with your hands, moreover, it makes the products penetrate better ! Take care! By the way, your videos are very useful and interesting! Love from France :D
awesome video's
Klorane sounds expensive, but if it's worth it, I will try it. But, not to be mean, but you sound like you never heard of shampooing 2x before. I mean it's right on every bottle and I thought everyone knows, "Lather. Rinse. Repeat." Maybe you just didn't take it seriously?
It's not too expensive, I mean it's not as cheap as Herbal Essence, but it's not a fortune either. Yes, I know it says to do it twice on the bottle. No one I know does it (when I asked my girlfriends)...and now that I know how well it works I talk about it as a very important step.
shampooing twice is honestly stupid AF that's how you get dry damaged hair
shampooing twice is honestly stupid AF that's how you get dry damaged hair
u have to introduce ur cat, so cute! They always say that the master looks like his animal and it goes for you, you look like a nice cat:)(its a compliment, yeah)lol
Aw, thanks! She is adorable (and she knows it)!
Love the cat!
