    You are the first person I've seen on UA-cam who did a product review on Klorane line of products. I am in love, love, luv...I obviously use their products and my hair is always soft and tangle-free. The hair mask is THE BEST! I have not been able to find any hair conditioners that can match the effectiveness. I highly recommend it as well.

    I use Wen cleansing conditioner to cleanse my hair. I've been using this for years. Love it so,so very much! I'll never go back to shampoo again. The smell is wonderful and the way it's helped improve the health of my hair is better than anything else I've ever used.

      Melissa Maker :-) Thank you for responding. It's very, very good and so worth it. If you decide to try it, get the set from wen.com to get your starter set. And in the future a tip is to buy it from QVC. They always have great sets and prices. Chaz Dean ( The maker of Wen) has videos here on youtube that explain how to use it. Also, he teaches very well when he's on qvc. I hope that you decide to try it and that you love it as much as my family and I do. I even got my 21 year old nephew hooked on it :-) His hair is super long and looks great. Best of luck :)

    Can you do an update to this video where you experiment/let us know how it works after you've worked out? I'm wondering if I can shampoo, workout and still get that 5-7 days in between just using the dry shampoo. Your videos are wonderful and you're my favorite blogger! Between these videos and your cleaning videos, I'm a lot more confident in life. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for sharing the results of your research, Melissa! I have issues with my hair so I am always searching for good info and this video is great! I appreciate the how to and I wonder if you have ever tried Living Proof. After trying numerous brands I have found them and they are just awesome : ) no animal testing, free shipping from their website anytime, amazing science behind the brand and their products WORK!
    I love your cleaning channel as well, girl please never stop posting on both channels!
    Cheers!

    Wow....you have such long hair and only needed such a LITTLE amount of shampoo....very impressed. I have coloured hair (gotta cover the grey) and use shampoo and conditioner and BioSilk from the hairdresser. A little goes a long ways for me as well...I usually let it air dry and that has helped my hair a lot....used to always blow dry when I was working....now after it's dry I just go around the bottom with the curling iron and I'm done. I can get away with a weekly shampoo....when you're an old lady it doesn't get so greasy anymore....LOL Good Video Melissa!!!

    Great tips, thanks Melissa. I also shampoo my hair twice, use a leave in conditioner and use dry shampoo between washes. I've tried what seems like a zillion dry shampoos and still haven't found one that I like (doesn't leave a white residue and has a pleasant smell). I'm definitely going to check out klorane because you recommend it!

    My favorite brand of shampoo/conditioner is the Giovanni line, especially the 2Chic products which have Argan oil, Moroccan oil and phyto-keratin for ultra sleek hair. It is paraben and sulfate free, animal and Eco-friendly, available at Loblaws/Superstore and always has a $2 off coupon which means they cost $7.99 each instead of $9.99. And they smell soooo good!!! I also love the Exotic Nectar leave-in conditioner by Live Clean, smells good and leaves my hair silky soft. Their shampoo/conditioners are pretty good too.

    • @melissamaker
      @melissamaker  10 років тому

    Your hair looks like you just came out of the salon, I'm not even kidding! I use pretty natural products myself like you, I don't use shampoo or conditioner with SLS. I also use a hair mask once a week. But every few weeks I will use a clarifying shampoo to clean my hair of any products or extra build up. You should definitely do more hair videos :)

      Yeah, I can see why. It was pretty challenging to use in my hair, that's for sure.

  • @bellonjm07
    @bellonjm07 10 років тому

    Wow that sounds amazing. I wash my hair every day with Redken All Soft shampoo & conditioner. It doesn't build up in my hair so I never need a clarifying treatment. I also have a perm so once I hop out of the shower I do my makeup then pic my hair then run Aveda style prep then Be Curly (they work together) through my hair. I get too much oil build up in my scalp not to shampoo daily. Maybe I need to try the dry shampoo you've got! But I also don't get split ends, have dry hair or get product built up. I've just got an oily scalp.

    • @melissamaker
      @melissamaker  10 років тому

      Curly hair needs a completely different treatment than straight hair. A friend of mine has extremely curly hair and she has her product mix that she swears by. When you know you know!
      It might be worth a try - the dry shampoo!

    I love using silk on my hair. It could be a bit pricey but a little goes a long way! If my hair is ever, dry, frizzy, or tangly, it fixes it right away! Totally recommend silk. Probably not best for people with really oily hair though. Hope that helped someone! :D

    You got me form 5 to 7 days clean hair ! I wash my hair EVERYDAY ... what it helped me for greasy hair too is scrub the skull with lemon juice let it on for 30 min then take a shower ,Amazing ! with a shampoo like this I think it's a A+ experiment !

    Do you put coconut oil on wet or dry hair? I love using it as a hair mask but I want to try using it as a leave-in shiner upper if you will. In the past I used argan oil on dry styled hair but it's a bit pricey and sometimes leaves my hair greasy. Would greatly appreciate your feedback! Thanks for the video!

    • @melissamaker
      @melissamaker  10 років тому

      I put CO in dry hair, just at the tips. I have tried it as a mask overnight. It works, you just have to shampoo really well! I found argan oil left my hair super greasy which is why I moved to coconut.

    Once a month/6 weeks I will take half sea salt and half shampoo and wash my here with that once, rinse it out of my hair en dry my hair by air. Then I take a little bit of hair oil and put that in. The salt cleans all of the styling and care residues out and my hair feels very clean.
    Gonna see if your brand is available here in Europe.

    Finally someone who understands why I air dry my hair and don't use a blowdrier:) Why don't you brush your hair while wet? I used to wait for them to dry, but it was harder to brush and I felt like I'm doing more damage. When I brushed them while wet it feels easier. What's the story behind it?

    • @boatwidow2002
      @boatwidow2002 10 років тому

      I usually let my hair air dry as well...only blow my bangs dry. I use a wide tooth comb to smooth out my hair while wet and then brush it when it is dry. My hair dresser says that I have healthy hair because of that. I also rarely use a flat iron on my hair....that helps too. Oh...and I only wash my hair on average every 3 days.

    • @alicjaclark1964
      @alicjaclark1964 10 років тому +1

      Thanks girls, I'll see for a couple months if it makes any difference. I'll use a wide tooth comb too. The double shampooing works, even though I use my normal shampoo, from 2-3 days period now I have 3-4, and I just wash them cos they don't feel fresh, but still look clean.

    • @melissamaker
      @melissamaker  10 років тому +1

      Alicja Adamska I was told that your hair is more susceptible to damage when wet, so it's best to wait until dry. However, you can use a wide tooth comb when your hair is wet so long as you are gentle!

    U 👀look 😑serious in this 🎥vid mel!!!😕
    I have somewhat moderate oily hair and I have to wash it every other day, but if for some reason I skip 2 days in a row what I usually do is sprinkle some baking soda all around my scalp and that actually helps to reduce the oiliness in my hair and scalp... I agree, it is more expensive. I look for it when it goes on sale, or sometimes I'll see a coupon for it and actually clip it out and keep it in my wallet. It is worth the money though. Yeah, that MA product was really awful. I haven't tried Bastile because I think the scents are too overpowering, but a lot of people really love the product.

    You are breaking your hair rubbing it between your hands to apply the product or just to wash, just apply it gently like if you would brush your hair with your hands, moreover, it makes the products penetrate better ! Take care! By the way, your videos are very useful and interesting! Love from France :D

    Klorane sounds expensive, but if it's worth it, I will try it. But, not to be mean, but you sound like you never heard of shampooing 2x before. I mean it's right on every bottle and I thought everyone knows, "Lather. Rinse. Repeat." Maybe you just didn't take it seriously?

      It's not too expensive, I mean it's not as cheap as Herbal Essence, but it's not a fortune either. Yes, I know it says to do it twice on the bottle. I was never taught to do it and never bothered to try doing it twice. I just wanted to share with people that yes, it actually does make a big difference if you do it. No one I know does it (when I asked my girlfriends)...and now that I know how well it works I talk about it as a very important step.

      I've started to suspect she is a reincarnated celebrity. She cannot stay off camera.. We have given up trying at this point and are just rolling with it!
