What you are saying (19:45) about the driving being intuitive is so SPOT ON. I've been saying exactly the same thing about RF2 (with certain DLC cars). I am not a gamer, I've driven and raced on many tracks in real life in different cars and race cars, nowadays I'm an oldtimer... 😊, so I mainly use the sim in order to "brush the rust". As you said, LMU (and RF2) is where I just drive as I would drive a Porsche, a formula Renault or a Caterham on track, and I don't need always to think "how does the game want me to drive", this is why LMU/RF2 is the closest thing to a sim and the rest are more like games.
Thank you! 🙏🏾 I might have pinned your comment 🤓. For years I’ve argued ‘you don’t need to have driven the IRL car to know what feels right. Physics is physics’. But the arguments of “you’re a gamer not an IRL racer is so strong”. It’s so helpful to hear the genuine options of people, like yourself, who can say - ‘I’ve raced IRL, my impressions are…’ These are the voices we need to get airtime.
I totally get the "it just feels natural" comment. You can just drive the cars, very close to the limit, and not get yeeted into the barriers. Sounds fantastic, drives amazingly well, and they've done an amazing job with these. And they deserve all the praise for doing so. Lets hope they can keep it up.
It’s that right, it encourages you to find your limits - because the limit is predictable. Just compounds the satisfaction and fun. Fingers crossed their financial situation gets resolved and they get the funding to give us a full complement of 2024/25 cars.
Great video just found it. Spot on I purchased the dlc today and hopped into the Ferrari GT3. They nailed it! After a few laps I parked up and started grinning. I was so happy it felt great. Ive been playing ACC for a long time now and started exploring Automobalista and le Mans I couldn't decide. Well its a wrap! Le Mans all the way.
Thank you. I really appreciate the comments. Glad you're loving the LMGT3's too. I really hope they attract a few more disenchanted ACC vets - so we start to build a groundswell in popularity.
Sometimes the new DLC sets a new benchmark, each sim having to do better. Which is good for us sim-racers. Sometimes, it’s entirely confirmation bias or hype. I try to recognise my CB, but sometimes fail.
I have been unable to load the session yet having to do with a video issue from the upgrade. I found some fixes but was unable to do them last night so the plan is fix them tonight. So looking forward to trying it out,
Sorry to hear you’ve had trouble getting in. I think this update has brought back some instability issues. CTD is back for me, slow load times, and hanging when exiting a season. So the problem might not be entirely on your end.
Sorry, I completely missed your comment. I'm not sure what those complaints are, I haven't seen them (yet). What I will say is, I've never really aligned with the eSports drivers and what they like or don't like. For far too many years, on iRacing I'd dislike the way the cars felt on hot tracks, love the way they felt on cold tracks - and yet, most of the eSports drivers I'd watch or talk to hated the cars feeling 'grippy' and seemed to revell in those hot slippery as hell scenarios. It's one of the reasons I cancelled my iRacing sub (just one of them). I figured the game was being developed around those preferences (assumed they'd have eSports racers as Alpha and Beta testers).
Try to use the the steering wheel for everything instead of reaching for the mouse. I can move the mouse pointer with the wheel but not the clicking. The settings have that listed but doesn't work. I didn't know if you used it like that.
Sorry no. I've got one stick set to navigate through the MFD - but I'm only using directions, not a click to select option. Have you tried experimenting to see if your gear paddle works as the click. Just to see if it's a case that the game doesn't like button you've tried.
I’m still debating that at the moment. I’m not sure if I have the spare time to commit to one. But I’ll definitely do the official in-game championship. Are you planning on jointing any?
Im having trouble with the ui mouse click mapping. I can map it to the steering wheel button but is will not work in game. Are you having that also? I uave to use my mouse for all clicks.
Somehow i get no joy from these GTE (macca), when rounding low speed corners at Portimao, it just doesn't want to turn. (wheel rotation setting maybe?) When I compare it to something like the Ginetta G40 mod in AC, that is not too easy, and despite being much slower, somehow much racier and on edge
I’m guessing they’ve made the fixed setups very safe, I haven’t tried tweaking them in open set sessions yet. Have you tried? You are right though, but I found the 296 turned the most (off throttle), then the Vette, then the 720s (no trail braking), then the BMW (that refused to commit) 😂
@MAWvR3ALITY thanks man for the answer, then i may need to do some set up tweaking or just buy the DLC. Did you change wheel rotation settings by the way or kept it at default (920 deg I think)? Lmu seems to be the only sim where somehow i need to turn the wheel (simagic Neo) more than I like or is comfortable to do
I also found that the mclaren and the ferrari are the best to drive, my personal favorite is the mclaren because it strikes a perfect balance between stability and oversteer, the ferrari is a bit more oversteery than the mclaren so if i want to have a safe race, I'd go with the mclaren.
I thought it was just me, I didn’t even shift into 6th at Spa. I was wondering if it had Le Mans ratios or something, but am not sure if ratios are locked in LMGT3 - I’ll have to check.

With every new DLC or update of every sim I hear: this is the best sim.....😵💫
Sometimes the new DLC sets a new benchmark, each sim having to do better. Which is good for us sim-racers.

Thats part of an evolving sim….
@@MM-mx8sr and part of big business....😊
Amazing video. It had everything! Great explanations.
Thank you 🙏🏾. Have you raced any of the LMGT3 yet?

Best sim at the moment. If they fix all issues there are no better feelings for gt3 cars as well
I agree with you on all counts 💯
so what are these complaints about not being able to feel thee ffb from the tire from the middle that the esports guys are talking about?

Excellent review and explanation! Can you please tell us your computer specs? Do use the Meta Quest 3 for VR?

Will you be competing in any of the new LMU leagues?
I’m still debating that at the moment. I’m not sure if I have the spare time to commit to one.
But I’ll definitely do the official in-game championship.

Hi, what is it you're trying to do? I'm using the mouse when in any of the menus - but I don't use teh mouse for anything when in the car.
In the menus and some in car
@ in the menus sometimes have issues with it not responding. I’ve just assumed it’s some buggy behaviour post the update.

@@massivebass2088 I haven’t changed the wheel rotation settings yet, I’ve just let the sim do its thing (I have the CSL DD).

That’s my reasoning too. I just kept imagining all of the corners I could lose the 296 in, if I had a lapse in concentration.
For some reason, the m4 has way too high gears, the 6th gear is mostly useless.
I thought it was just me, I didn’t even shift into 6th at Spa.
I was wondering if it had Le Mans ratios or something, but am not sure if ratios are locked in LMGT3 - I’ll have to check.
@MAWvR3ALITY there is a le mans special but it must only be used for le mans; not all the other tracks.
@ thanks - maybe they’ve accidentally put that ratio on the car at all tracks.
