Nice playing, what can you say about CuNiFe overall in comparison to stock pickups? I have a '72 MIM thinline tele and plan to upgrade to CuNiFe as well
Thanks you! I would say the biggest change has been the brightness, not a shrill brightness, but more hi-fi and more present harmonics. This is what I love about the original Thinlines I have played. I know that changing the pots helped this as 1meg pots let threw more hi frequencies then 500ks. If your a fan of single coil sound, but like the output of humbuckers, you would be very happy with a set of these.
Have you tried telenator tips for a better tone with the cunife hb’s. Its a lot of difference once you get a properly set up in height and screwpoles adjust
I’ve followed this setup and really changed Everything, do it slow, and hearing all the changes in tone… I can send a pic of how it measures now, and how the Poles look After my setup
weak demo. first off - its WIDE RANGE, not Field. Second, you completely overlooked the middle pickup selection, which is like THE most musical of them both. couldn't listen past that. also, the CUNIFE magnet part is the most important. anyone can make humbuckers this size, but humbuckers don't use magnetized pole pieces, they have a bar magnet that touches both sets of screws. True wide range pickups use magnetized pole pieces.
Thanks for doing this for the thinline crowd, this helps a lot!
1:28 Original Japan pickup 8:34 Fender Wide Range
Thanks Phil!
I think your guitar sounds good with either pick ups. How much does uour guitar weight?
Thanks. I'm surprised the widerange set fit in the same cavity given the pickups are bigger.
The new pickups sound killer
Definite difference
Not sure if you mentioned in the video but are the recreation pickups the same size as traditional humbuckers or were they larger?

Howdy,
What is your go to hight for these pickups
Does anyone know if fender Cunife Wide Range pickups will fit into a standard PAF size route and pickguard?
No they won't. They're a bit bigger.
Why are you afraid to use the middle position of the pickup selector switch? It does have 3.
