One minor thing is that he always has the same personality. He always plays this overconfident, stuck-up, annoying guy, who at the end doesn’t get a gym for some reason. I would really like a change in character.

Today happens to be Sword and Shield’s 3 year anniversary. Can’t believe it’s been 3 years. This game had a lot of faults but it was very fun!

Pokémon has honestly done a good job at not making all its Fairy types cute and cuddly little balls of love. The fae could often be _really_ fucked up creatures in the past.

I can now only imagine the Hoenn Grass Mikey as this entirely too chill couch-surfer, the Kalos Dark Mikey as a way-too stressed, insomniac evil man and the Galar Electric Mikey as just sitting there, with a monocle, sipping tea, in a box on the street, still without a gym, occasionally shouting "SHOCK ON!!!".
And Alola Ice Mikey turning the thermostat all the way down
Then "Evil" Team Sky Mikey challenges them all and demands they worship Ray-Quey-Quey aka Skydios, then alternate universe "Evil" Team Pixie Mikey gets laughed at by everyone.
Finally, Bug-Catcher Mikey comes along and tries to capture more Bugs while ignoring everyone else.

You are just a delight to watch. I love adding the narrative flair, adds a layer that is missing from a lot of Pokemon videos. Can't wait to see what's next, perhaps more Team Sky?
I'd like for him to do a Water Type run.
A good story is in any (which is most) regions that have a Water type leader, the goal isn't to become the first gym leader, but to overthrow the existing gym leader by convincing the leaders, Elite 4, and Champion of your power with Water types.
Water types are my favorite.
This video made me really wish we could see all of the minor league leaders that didn't cut the gym challenge in the games. After Klara and Avery, this concept should have been worked upon more.
Yea, they should have made two completely different set of gym leaders for each game. And made a post game feature where you can check out the minor league leaders and inspect their puzzle design and battle prowess as the champion.
I am reasonably certain we do meet the minor league leaders in the form of those random type specialists in the league rematch and star tournament they just don’t have any unique designs.

On the one hand, it would be so cool to see the minor league galar gym leaders, but on the other hand I think the galar gym leaders we've seen are so strong bc we get the time to fully characterize them, and idk if that would still be true if there was one of every type to focus on.

Story of my life
Something I've always enjoyed about these character playthroughs is they do feel like individual characters, even if they're all just Michael having fun.
Makes it way more fun than somebody doing a boring old mono type run. This way is far more entertaining

Can I just say I'm surprised you didn't go for "Shock and awe" as a catchphrase for both shocking attacks, awe inspiring battles, and just in general playing pretty aggressively which is the definition of shock and awe fighting
Ironically, Milo uses that catchphrase at 3:29, and he uses Grass-types.

I'm impressed he's doing a monotype run of this! I have two playthroughs that I've called Duo-type runs. Both of my protagonists for these runs are siblings that aspire to be gym leaders that specialise in multiple types. One called Ashleigh who specialises in Flying types and Steel types and the other called Ricky who uses Electric types and Ground types!
Oh that's actually pretty cool! What are their aces? The girl's has gotta be Corviknight or Skarmory, yeah?
@@r.j.penfold For sure! Her Ace is Corviknight! Instead of using one of the three starters, I picked up a rookidee and used that as her starter. Likewise for Ricky and his Yamper.
@@Captain_Bottles oh Yamper is a great choice. I always go for female Yamper so I can name them after one of my dogs (similar anatomical build with longer legs)

I love how it's known that Mikey hates Nuzlocks, but technically these playthrough do count. They aren't traditional nuzlocks, but restricting yourself to certain pokemon types does kinda count.

My first playthrough of sword and shield I ended up playing as a poison type "gym leader". Definitely kept G-Max Toxtricity on my team as well. Super fun and nostalgic to watch this playthrough and see Toxticity tearing it up for you too!
When I do this, I play as the Dark-type Gym Leader as a duo with Marnie as well as the Champion of Galar as well as basically Marnie's boyfriend lol 🤣🤣🤣

As if Mikey hasn't already used like half a dozen of the same obscure nicknames I use for my Pokémon, this is the exact same head canon I have for my own Galar journey.
I’m hoping that Team Sky will make an appearance in Galar someday. Not only does it have a plot right out of Nightsky’s book (The Darkest Day, which he’d be happy to make permanent), but I can see Mikey using a Gigantamax Corviknight and telling Hop (who also uses one) the immortal line from Agent J. “You know what the difference is between you and me? I make this look good.”
Hey Mikey, I really enjoyed your vids on the topics like "what's the best trade in each region" "what's the rarest Pokémon" etc. & one I'd like to see is, What's the hardest type to use in each region. Taking into account what options you have available, what major battles there are, are move coverage, to figure out which type would be hardest so solo a game with
