In many ways, this game inspired an entire class of fighting games involving comic book heroes and villains such as the Marvel vs Capcom series and the Injustice series. I can see how DC Comics and Marvel Comics video games were inspired by this one!
That goes without saying though. Marvel vs. Capcom wasn’t “inspired” by this game, it was a sequel a couple spots down the line. Many of the exact same assets and voice acting are literally re-used for it. That’s like saying “you can really see how Halo 3 was inspired by Halo 1.”
One of the artists from Capcom has an interesting thread on his Twitter about how he got Capcom to love Marvel characters and get the license which led to those wonderful arcade games. Interesting fact: despite the X-Men animated series airing in Japan, this was not a huge hit in Japan. Capcom would only get recognition in Japan with X-Men v Street Fighter in 1996
"SOMEBODY" has obviously played this game WAYYY TOO MUCH, and always played it as Wolverine. LOL.. I remember back in the "REAL ARCADE" days, dudes used to get on these games and just CAMP on them playing solo. He didn't mind if any fool wanted to come drop a quarter in and join him.. he would DEMOLISH the guy in seconds - making him waste his quarter... then go back to his solo game unbothered. LOL.. You got to recognize these "campers" on sight, and would avoid them at all costs. Let them just play alone lol.. They were MUCH harder than playing solo. You only had 10-15 quarters walking in - those guys were NOT worth a wasted quarter. 😡 LMAooo.. 😂😂😂😂..

Umm, obviously it inspired them, it was the first one of it's kind lmao.
@@dominicblair5029 It's meant to be a compliment and to tell others to appreciate the efforts of generations of video game developers

Marvel hated the design of the Sentinel in this game due to the mecha anime design but Marvel began to use it in the late 2000s
