X-Men: Children of the Atom - Wolverine Playthrough

Wolverine has the grand honor of being the longest-running playable character in the entirety of Capcom's Marvel fighters. As he first appeared in this game and managed to stay in ALL the way up to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the most recent game.
It comes with the publicity of being THE most popular X-Man, and one of the most famous Marvel superheroes of all time.
Since I'm more veteranized with Wolverine's Marvel Super Heroes version, it's weird for me to use him here. His special moves here are just his Drill Claw and Tornado Claw, while his Berserker Barrage is his Super/X-Combo instead of another special.
I've noticed while fighting Juggernaut that Wolverine can air dash after hitting in midair. This is a good way for him to back off from his opponent should the opponent block his attack. I don't know why Juggernaut would just leave himself open and taunt.
In his ending, Wolverine wants Magneto to escape with him and the other X-Men from the collapsing Avalon. Magneto wants him to stay with him and his Brotherhood.
Obviously, Wolverine just escapes with the other X-Men instead, realizing how stubborn Magneto is.
Back on earth, in the Danger Room, Logan(Wolverine) and Scott(Cyclops) meet back up with Jean Grey. It was a bit of a reunion between her and Cyclops because of him going into space and all.
There were also some gifts and flowers for them, which Wolverine quickly destroyed, getting tired of the romance around him. He decides to take a vacation.
Said vacation involves finding and quickly defeating Silver Samurai. Logan's next trip is to Madripoor! - Ігри

That last round against Magneto was hilarious. Magneto outright _refusing_ to get the fuck back down from his flying mode with Wolverine jumping up at him like a dog trying to get a cat up in a tree, and then finally getting comboed so hard by the pissed off Wolverine he got dizzy. This game had some priceless moments at times.
X-Men always start great games off. X-Men Children of the Atom help create X-men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and the famous Marvel vs. Capcom series.
@Kazuma Yoshikaze bruh, what does that have to do with the comment? He never said that this game was published by Marvel, and of course Street Fighter and Dark Stalkers were an inspiration for this, but is thanks to this game that the crossovers came

Magneto isn't wearing a helmet while sitting in his chair, his helmet appears suddenly when he gets up and disappears again as he floats until the ground.
Magneto does appear another helmet in his hand, when reaches the end his boss entrance.

This game has serious history. OG's played this and recognized the art style as soon as MSH
94 was an impressive year for fighters. I remember this game, King of Fighters 94, and Killer Instinct.

Capcom Soundtracks on the 90's were great (Megaman X , Demoncrest, and all the marvel crossovers)

X-Men in this were straight up 'For Humanity' in the face of...well, Magneto. Because people don't deserve the total war he wanted.

Always liked the pacing of this game as opposed to the frenetic pace of Marvel vs Capcom series
I'd like to say that Magneto was taken out like a bitch in X Men 3 but this player has some balls. Close encounter my friend, good playing. I suck at fighting games.

I remember a guy selling this at a flea market for sega saturn but my mom didn't buy it for me. This would have been too epic to me at that time as a kid being a huge xmen fan. Later I end up getting mk2 on sega saturn which was a shitty port of the arcade smh.

If we play this in manual mode, we can make wolverine heal himself during battles - and that's is one of his special powerup skills. Also, omega red who can drain opponent's hp. If you are good psylocke user, you can easily counter any opponent's grab - with a damaging kick.

I never played this before, but I definitely need to. My first game Marvel Capcom game was Marvel Super Heroes, I had no idea at the time that there was another Capcom Marvel fighting game before it.
The Doom I was 11 when this came out and I fell in love with it instantly. Magneto was and is one of my favourite Marvel characters and this is his most powerful playable incarnation in any video game. His stage Avalon is a multi-layered masterpiece of design.
I remember when this game first came out. I would spend a lot quarters playing it after school.

Pretty cool, though as far as I know, Wolverine can't fight Magneto, because Magneto can just rip him to shreds with his own bones. I haven't read many of the comics though.
Wolverine could fight if Magneto used him as a puppet fighting Magneto. In fact, Magneto could use wolverine as a puppet to fight the other X Men.
There was a time when Magneto ripped out all the adamantium in Wolverine's body.

Edward Gaines You're talking about the comic book Fatal Attractions this game is based on right? I'm not sure why they decided not to add that during his ending. Maybe they thought it was too dark or they didn't want to make the ending seem too long.

Is there a decent port of this game that can be emulated? Or can the arcade game itself be emulated well? Also curious, those who have played this game a lot(I've never played it) do you think it has the depth, nuance and balanced mechanics etc worthy of professional competition? Just curious, not interested in playing it professionally or anything XD Haven't even played it. Just trying to gauge its worth because it seems like it may be pretty awesome from watching some videos.
The arcade version is emulated very well on MAME.

I got a real arcade pro v 4 for Dustforce on the PC but lately I've been using it for GGXXX. I'm better with the stick than I expected to be.

I totally agree Marvel vs Capcom Origins is kind of lack luster and should include this game, X-men vs Street Fighter, and Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, that would be the ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom Collection
stupaod This game was released on both the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn back in 1996. From what I understand, the Saturn port is more or less identical to the original arcade, right down to Magneto being break-the-controller hard. If you're a retro gamer, I recommend getting a Saturn and this game. If not, the emulated arcade version on MAME is really good and free to play. Google "ROM-World."
