Yes an easy one and I was lazy enough NOT to pause the video.. sorry about it. I loved the variation and thought process. Thank you very much for sharing this puzzle and no words to appreciate you for bringing out the best puzzles for learning.
I solved it, except it took me way too long. I looked at the right move at the very beginning of my thought process but I somehow dismissed it, imagining some defense by black which is not really there, as I often do >< It wasn't until several minutes later, after dismissing all the other possibilities, that I came back to it and finally found out >< Nevertheless I reckon it was an easy puzzle. I made it difficult for myself by dreaming up nonexistent defense mechanisms >
This is the sort of chess problem I hate. Loads of possible moves, each one a plausible key, and it's a boring chore to try each of them to find out which one is the key. And after all that, the solution line is a mere 3 plies. And there isn't even any nice tactical theme.
Woo-hoo!! I finally NAILED IT!! First time I finally got one of these 2-movers. I ruled out the close-but-not-quite alternatives just as described. Yay!
Easy one but, imho to fully appreciate and enjoy the composer idea one must watch how black change defenses to white tries (Rd8, Rc8 as pointed in the video) and how they fail after the white key.
Win is guaranteed. You can easily sacrifice the knight for one pawn while keep the bishop on the long diagonal that controls b1 and then win with the rook.
@prestonotes I never played chess with a clock. You don't watch real chess if there is a clock. You need time. Some players take more than an hour for one move. And one player took a day to play the next move.
I thought, knight to the corner (A1) was unstoppable; if he takes it, then the rook swoops down and it's a checkmate. I was sure that was the correct move.
@16_rafi44 Yes, I solved this one was what I was trying to say without littering the comments with spoilers. I failed miserably on the new lasker one though. Missed the pawn for two. That one was easier too. Chess is hard.
Not difficult, but I was amused that none of the five available sacrifices lead anywhere. :)
It must have been easy as I solved it.
Apparently I'm blind because I didn't realize we had a rook in the top left.
Me too and I'm not considered a chess genius. But it was nice😊
Ditto. First one I’ve ever solved. Must be v basic
I found this one almost instantly! I love that you mix easier ones in with the hard ones.
I believe this is the first time I solved one in well under a minute. For at least one day I can feel like a Grand Master.
Glad to finally get an easy one. Thank you!

Nice and easy one!
I've been following your channel for a few months and I've actually learned a lot. I can now easily do simple two-movers like this.
Whew! The pressure was on after you called it easy, but I got it pretty quickly. Thanks for throwing us learners a bone.
Your Pazzle is always very interesting. Thank you.

Rook A2. White promotes to knight to guard D2. Bishop C2 mate. If instead white promotes to a queen, its rook D2 mate.

I thought I had it, but I didn't see the underpromotion to a knight.

Of course. But you must find a way to mate in only two moves. Imagine your clock have only 2 seconds left...

i'm happy that i am able to solve this 😊
cool puzzle!
Yes, I found the right pattern for mate and verified it was working😊
I find it but it was so ez dat I must check the video twice to be sure😂😂

Got when I realised the pawn could under promote to a knight. 😊
It has a small flaw after black promotes to a rook there are two ways to mate him
After 1 Ra2 Black can promote the pawn into Rook giving Whie both checkmate options.
Good puzzle even though I could not find the solution. :-)
Ra2. Must’ve been an easy one since I never find a mate in 2 😅
Yes
I am sure most of us find it easy. Ra2 solves it in 2 minutes 🙏
What's the problem with Re8 then Re1 ?
the pawn on d2 would simply take the rook
Of course, and now I feel really stupid...
@@gawen6489 no, why!? In search for a clever solution, we sometimes lose sight of the obvious. That happens to all of us.
R to a2
R to r2
Got it!
Rook E8..., Rook E1
It looks good es well, isn't it?
No. pawn dxe1 and it is not mate.
Good🎉❤
ouf. i found it, easily.
Yep, easy one.
🥳🎉🎆💫
East
What is wrong about B D3 and no matter what black promotes too b to e2 is checkmate
Then c2 isn't covered, king can escape.
@@Khaim.m I think I had a blind spot and don't know how I missed it. Thank you.
@@michaelmalarkey2943 No worries, I make silly mistakes all the time.
Knight A1
the king can escape to c1
Black ignores the knight and goes b1. You're still winning but there's no checkmate in 2.
Black promotes to knight. Thats what I see.
Bishop can checkmate the king

Maybe "new" is the wrong word though.
😂
Its lasker after all.
Easy - sorry
