- My search for a great air hose ended rather quickly. The Prevost "Airca" and "Stoflex" hoses are really good. I take you through the subtle difference between the two options.

The anti-static feature is most useful for blowing off electronics where the static could damage electronics as well as in body shops where blowing static on a car panel can turn it into a literal dust magnet. Keep up the great work, love the channel!
Good point.
FYI, I got certified in ESD by the ESD Association. I was taught by the sitting president and former sitting president. According to the ESD Association, ESD risk via air is a non issue. Buying an ESD safe hose won't make your air any more safe.
I’ve had a hose reel on the ceiling of my garage probably 12 years now and am only on the 2nd rubber hose in that time, with intermittent use. First one started to get dry rot cracks near the end where I would handle the hose with greasy gloves on. I kept cutting off the end section every so often and putting the barbed hose end back in, until it just got too short and I replaced it probably 3-4 years ago. I haven’t cut my current hose at all yet.
I was building out my setup and your channel and store was the ONLY place I could find what I was looking for. I'm thankful for that. 🙏
Thanks Logan. That's the plan.
Matt, I know you are just passing on information furnished to you by the manufacturer (as you should I suppose) but for what it's worth I have 3 brands of red rubber air hose (a total of at least 300 feet in use) that is about as old as you are (I am not kidding)! The brands I have are Parker, Speedaire and Goodyear. The Parker version is so old it has actually turned brown, but that said, NONE of the brands leak, NONE cracked and NONE have failed in any way. I use my air lines every single day (including Sundays) and they do get oil and solvents on them frequently. When I purchased my air hose 40 years ago the type you have in the green color dod not exist and so I just bought what was commercially available and at the time was the industry standard. If they have come up with a better "mouse trap" then great! Again, not going against what you said on the video, but it did make me chuckle a bit since my air hoses are still going strong 40 years later........ :) The only failures I've had are most of the quick disconnect couplers have leaked over the years and even though they are rebuildable, I choose to just change them out with new ones when that happens and chuck the old ones, cheap enough. If the green hose lasts longer than the traditional red rubber type than it should out last all of us! :)
NOTE ADDED: I DO wipe off oils and fluids after using at the end of the day - just to be honest however I was unaware that oil is supposed to make them expand and pop.
Bobby W how do you rebuild the couplers? Is it just replacing an o-ring inside? I have some that are leaking now that I need to either replace or rebuild.
Patrick94GSR
They use to sell a rebuild kit which was more than likely just an O-ring or Bushing but to be honest I've never bothered to rebuild them so I can't tell you for sure. All I do is replace the old worn ones with new ones as they are cheap enough. I use the Steel versions NOT the Brass and the Brands I have are Foster, Milton and Tomco (which I find the best of all 3). I don't remember what they cost me (I usually buy in bulk) because they do last me a long time - but something like $5 - $6 bucks each. I also prefer the style that is quick connect and the collar does NOT have to be pulled rearwards to connect, just for disconnecting which means tools can be changed with one hand easily. If memory serves I believe I got them from either Zoro Tools or Granger.
Im digging through footage looking for an answer... What Air system did you go with for the new shop? I saw the transparent hoses in the Adam LZ Exhaust video but figured those are for water.
It's all Prevost. I'm working on building it out in my store. www.obsessedgarage.com/collections/compressed-air
Matt DO NOT take any notice of negative comments. You are giving your opinion & make it very clear it is just that, your view. I love watching you and never fail to take good things from each and every one. Keep following your dream, Im right there with you.
Thanks for sharing Matt. good vibes bud.
Great video, how do these compare to their Flexair hose?
How do these air hoses compare to a flexzilla air hose though? Flexzilla hoses are very flexibile.
Flexzilla is much lighter and cheaper. Those are consumer grade, these are industrial
Matt have you considered having a separate channel for the product videos for the store?
Dan or they could just be unlisted. I personally like seeing the products here, because otherwise I might not know about the new stuff added to the store.
Unlisted doesn't work as well. I've tried that with some. I want to have all of the products here in one spot. The plan is to have an encyclopedia of content in one place. I've thought about creating a separate channel, but I don't think it's the best way to do it.
Obsessed Garage Matt I understand what your saying. How about this....run it like you are but in the title put in a sign ...a bad example but say ..(P.R) and when video comes in notifications...we know it's a product review vid for the channel ...people can then watch it or know straight away that's it's for info on the products for sale...they can then make up their mind if the want to watch or not. Make a simple video explaining the titles and well all know what's up. Good luck and just trying to help.
The title and thumbnail already make it seem pretty obvious what the video is, at least to me anyway. If there's a product photo in the thumbnail it's going to be a product video.
Using a hose as a whip? :) I misunderstood that for a moment ;)
"you are just selling stuff" - Well yea i mean you gotta eat, you are selling parts for solutions, you are sharing your experience. If they don't like it, don't watch it. Don't apologise Matt as they trying to mak their problem your problem.
I get what they are saying. I don't want to do that, but some of it is necessary to create this destination I'm chasing. I know people will appreciate it when it's done, but I'll have to manage ramming it down everyone's throat.
Still waiting on the M3 to come...sigh
Avaition & Cars he said shipping could take up to a month.
goodyear hoses are the way forward...just saying ..prevost couplers break.just saying.
isuavingalaff you just said 😂
Everything can break.
