With freedom of movement, poor people have all of Europe to earn a living and put bread on the table, instead of this prison island. Didn’t you know ?
More like still fighting despite loosing the biggest amount of seats since the thirties for labour and given a deranged tori government a big majority to wreak havoc on the country.

He betrayed Labour Party policy , and in particular younger Labour members who pushed him to be leader, and he imposed a 3 line whip to support a minority Tory government get Article 50 through parliament. He could have stopped Brexit in its tracks , didn’t even challenge it, but supported it in parliament….where it counts.

He cheered the bombing of Manchester arena He first came to public notice when as Labour leader when he attended a memorial service for those who died during the battle Britain he sat there like a petulant teenager who's not been allowed to where his baseball cap tl a funeral sneering and generally mocking the other people there for singing hymns and the national anthem..he refused to cross the Thames to attend a memorial for Lee Rigby but he had no problem crossing a continent to join celebrations of the 2973 Munich massacre. Flashing gang signs with zHezbola and Al Queda.Flashing gang signs? He's not some 16 year old ghetto kid.Hes a white 74 year old upper middle class millionaire MP

My brother was one of the 6k ppl kidnapped onto IPP by the cameron regime, after spending almost decade in prison over tarriff he was eventually released, when i went to meet him at the train Station who do i bump into?? Only Jeremy Corbyn.. I had to shake his hand, and as i did he asked 'how do you think the campaign is going', i replied 'great, just keep doing what you are doing' , and that was that.
My biggest disappointment in life is that I’ll never see a true socialist government in my country.

(both of my sons were born in the whittington hospital circa late 80s/90s, their mum was actually manager of the maternity/womens health dept at the time) Always knew we had a hard working and conscientious local MP . A real man of integrity and honour , a working class hero. Thanks for the memories , a lovely discussion

I absolutely loved this conversation. What an incredible life Jeremy Corbyn has had. I find his ability to quietly & unwaveringly stick to his truth incredible & inspirational. A beautiful, beautiful human being.
Anyone would have the 'incredible' life he's had, if they could afford to fail due to having wealthy parents picking up the bill.

Such people of the stalwart calibre of Jeremy Corbyn come along but fleetingly in historical terms. A man totally realistic of the flawed human traits of his detractors but willing to stand up and be counted. He is undoubtedly a national treasure. I know he will be counted in historical terms but his messages need to be acted on NOW whilst so many are suffering, be it in poor housing, unhoused, a refugee from countries where there have been wars for profit, or those that have struggled with the debts of tertiary education, or those who have suffered from deliberate running down of our NHS to make the for profit sector more likely to get their way. I am not the only one who recognises wisdom and I can see that this man has much more to give our nation. Blair and Starmer have no hinterlands from which their morality and integrity was formed, they are swayed by the neoliberal bum rash which infects the world currently but which has clearly failed and is burning itself out naturally because it is so unfair to the majority of all populations.
Lovely interview. You can tell that Jeremy had a lot of affection and respect for Tony Benn.
Having dealt a lot with my local council, I can really relate to Jeremy Corbyn talking about elected councillors being overly influenced by the officials around them. I've seen it a lot in my local council, it's almost like they can't do anything without the say so of the council bureaucrats.
It sounds like Corbyn can get more done locally than he could have done as PM, where he would have been constrained by centrists and right wingers in Parliament. He has a record he can be very proud of.
I disagree. I think he has inspired a generation (myself included) and for all that he did, I'm grateful. I never would have known he existed had he not been Labour leader. Now, that would have been a waste of a great life.
Are there any other MPs like him? I've never seen one.....there must be......surely?? What a legend he is and he clearly unsettles them at Westminster because he stands for everything they do not......

Such a social history of a London constituency over these recent decades sounds fascinating and also provides an opportunity to raise funds for the good causes Jeremy champions. Not to mention that it would also help people see how GOOD MPs actually operate and constitute something of a model for anyone who wants to see a world where there are more Corbyns and Benns in politics and fewer Blairs, Johnsons, Camerons, and Starmers.

Great idea but unfortunately not yet. Our intention was to make short documentaries on progressive successes and while working with Jeremy on our Co-Op one he suggested this interview. It was a ton of fun to make and a lot quicker to do than a full doc so we may do more. We will have a think about what works and maybe do a podcast if people want more of these interviews.

Wonderful interview: two great people talking who have unwittingly fortified my political sympathies.
It is accepted in Parliament in order to progress in their careers, MPs must 'trim their views' unlike Jeremy who speaks out. Starmer's Labour need to represent where they come from when they have been given their constituents votes and not have their heads turned by those who take their positions for granted. A very interesting conversation.

80% of the 500,000 Labour members were pro remain and 2/3 Labour constituencies were pro leave. Got blame from both sides so you can understand the attempt to compromise.

To be successful in politics you need to be incredibly brave.
War whips up an hysterical atmosphere. It takes a lot of courage to oppose it.
You can see everywhere now with the super wealthy expensive parts and the slummy poor parts. It's not what my area was like when I grew up where people didn't have masses but everyone was the same or similar. It was much better than having all the expensive shopping centres and designer shops with no decent local shops for the poorer areas. There's now no sense of community. This is why people who are angry when migration happens in their area because they don't understand the whole roots of the problem. They just see others moving in on their 'already underclass' poor areas

What is a woman?
I grew up in the village next to Mr Corbyn which is actually in shropshire. He lived in the local Manor or what we called the "big house" . Now worth a cool two million. He didn't go to our school but was chauffeured to the posh boys school in Shrewsbury. He came from a pretty privileged wealthy background. Not that that's an issue that he should be ashamed of, after all none of us pick our origions but interesting how he plays this down. When he first went into local politics in Telford he would call himself Jezza and would say he was from Telford😅 to play down his wealthy background. He's like all politicians smoke and mirrors laced with half truths.
Then he's a bit more like Tony Benn: men born into relative privilege who both committed their lives to fighting for social justice and equality. Very commendable.

Because he isn't antisemitic and the loss of the elections is down to petit-bourgeois scum hammering the only slim chance we had at sone form of progressive government. Admitted his weakness is also to blame, but that just means a similar leader in the future should learn from this and clear out the Blairite dogs much more ruthlessly and replace with real working class fighters
