      There were more wide-angled breathing camera shots back then broadcasting to 19-in TVs than today's avg of 55 in. You would think that would be the opposite.

    Just imagine how many more races he could have won.

    • @01Zipang
      @01Zipang 4 роки тому +10

      Probably not many more. Kulwicki never was going to win a ton of races per season. Alan relied more on consistent finishes and avoiding any terrible races. But if he needed to he would push.

      @@01Zipang LMAO you have bumped your head. Like you know this, your opinion is nothing more than pure speculation.! You talk as if Alan's whole game plan was simply to get consistent finnish'es. Well no shit Sherlock that's everyone's game plan, along with more WINS.!! He would have definitely started winning more. Duh huh after anyone's first win more sponcer ship money starts coming in, Ahhh that relates to more wins. You do realize Alan was a independent right? More wins more sponcer stickers on the car more $$. How old are you? Millennial I'm guessing.

      @@lskiller1903 Alan himself didn't see himself winning a whole bunch of races for the aforementioned reasons. He also said, when Benny Parsons brought up multiple championships stating Richard Petty's seven, that he wouldn't win that many of those either, because, "I won't make it that long." Sadly, he was right. Who knows how many races Alan, Davey, and countless others could have won if things had gone differently for them...

    • @01Zipang
      @01Zipang 4 роки тому +4

      @@lskiller1903 so you never listened to interviews or heard Alan talk about his strategies? That's how he played it. As a driver/owner he wasn't going to push it every weekend.

    • @JSchaffer214
      @JSchaffer214 4 роки тому +6

      @@lskiller1903 He was an owner/driver. We've seen how increasingly difficult that's become in the cup series. I'm not sure how old you are but for those of us who actually remember the time period, Alan never was a "win every week" type of driver. Sure, he WANTED to win but he was a realist and knew when he didn't have the car to win and was smart enough not to push it to the point of no return. Instead he got the best finish he could and ultimately won the championship in that way. Alan was a great driver but his strength was his intelligence.

    Good thing PIR got rid of that terrible road course when they did the renovations. The road course was useless anyway. I think all speedways should get rid of their infield/outfield road courses. They don’t serve any purpose anyway. Just put more infield camping in its place. It’s a “win-win” for everyone.

    And just like that, NASCAR gets rid of the classic, historic Daytona clash race, changing it into something totally irrelevant by making it into the roval. Thanks a lot, won't be watching.

      @rosschastainfan1851 4 роки тому +4

      R.eese.2D2 To be fair the Clash has basically been dead since 2014. Basically, it turned into a test session for the Daytona 500 since NASCAR banned pre season thunder in 2015. Making it a Road Course will hopefully put some new light into a race that has become a complete joke. “Don’t knock it till you tried it.”

      @@rosschastainfan1851 I agree 100%, I was really thrilled when they announced it because I knew the Daytona road course deserved a cup race, and what better race to do that than the Clash which hasn't been good since 2012.

      @@evannuh-koo-la4054 it always has been. It's a non points race, a shortened version of the 500 with a smaller number of drivers. This change is welcome. I guess he whines because there won't be anymore spectacular superspeedway level crashes like this year's?
