Mimi, I'm absolutely sobbing about your passing. Knowing you've been battling cancer for so long, rest in peace. You've been an amazing inspiration for my own singing.
Too bad my first introduction to them is finding out she has passed away, and this is the first song I hear of theirs. May she rest in peace. My condolences to the family of Low.
I remember the first time I heard Low, I was in college in the early 90s and I had just smoked a big bowl, and Words came on college radio. I have been listening ever sense. One of the greatest indie rock bands of all time
This band was introduced to me by a guy I was dating. We didn’t end up for anything serious but my love for this band is turning real. This is my most success story of online dating so far. 😅So sad Mimi passed away, I can only see her videos on UA-cam. 😢
This is a truly moving record of the magic that they left the world with. I hope Alan goes on to mount a concert tour one day called "Alan Sparhawk & Friends: The Songs Low" as a tribute (with guest musicians and vocalists from each city doing the Mimi parts and supporting him). I think that would be truly amazing. I would buy multiple tix for that. R.I.P. Mimi. Voice of an angel. :(
Mimi said in an interview on Sound Opinions that they get a new fan base every seven years. Well, after that, count me as a new fan. What a lovely talent.
If you can believe it, when they would play a show in the '90s, people usually knew how slow, mellow, and soothing Low's music was, so they would all just sit on the floor for the entirety of their set, even if it was a rock club (it was the only logical thing to do, since it's impossible to to their music). Years later, they played a festival in Duluth where the audience was actually encouraged to bring sleeping bags to the venue and sleep while the music was being performed.
Have loved low for a few years now, the passing of Mimi affected me more than I would have expected. Best wishes to Alan and their family. Anyone know the tuning/tabs for try to sleep? Normal tab websites don't have this version which is unfortunate.
This is both heartbreaking and exactly what I need after hearing of Mimi’s passing. Her beautiful voice will live forever.
So sad... RIP Mimi

Rick Beato's dedication to Mimi brought me to this performance. I'm grateful to learn about this band and their music.
He'll bring more attention to them than 30 years of touring did, already has... probably.
Wow Beato did a thing on her passing? Cool. I gotta cheak it.
Same

It was a lovely dedication.
This band has been breaking my heart and putting it back together for nearly 30 years. I love them so, so much.
Well said. You put it exactly as I would say it for me as well.
Rest in peace, Mimi. And thank you. We love you Alan. Be strong, man. ♥️♥️♥️

It's so amazing to learn over the past few days that such renowned musicians as Robert Plant, Chrissie Hynde, and Rick Beato are all huge Low fans.

Haven’t heard Low before, but I love these harmonies and natural raw sound. Nice writing too. Much enjoyed! :)
