I loved this passenger. He gets what his car is built for, and it's not hot-lapping the ring. It's a fast (normal) street car 99.9% of the time. That it is so good on the ring is a testament to how good the 987 and newer boxster/caymans are.
@@MegaNardman true but the old cars550, 914, & 911 were just as good in their era. The reason porsche makes great cars is because they are all race cars, even their cayenne won races.
One of the most enjoyable laps I’ve watched. Sub 400hp (light ish) cars are where it’s at, far more enjoyable for us mere mortals, and in the hands of some like Misha they dance along the track 🕺
I got a 987.2 Boxster S and have zero regrets. I can't tell you how many times I've surprised people at track days with how quick it is with a bit of suspension, and just a tune. It's a fantastic platform.
As a fellow 987 driver this one warmed my heart. And I was surprised that Misha hasn't driven dozens of Caymans already - they seem so ubiquitous on the ring.
I have a white 987.2 Boxster S with the 997GT3 brake master cylinder, race fluid and pads. The pedal is firm, the car stops on a dime and it's not difficult to engage ABS. Hoping to drive it on the Nordschleife soon!
I'm actually glad the speedometer go pro fell down to see that nice angle from behind , I don't know about others but I felt like I was in the back seat , crazy !
I have the 987.2 cayman S black edition (32/500) with pdk and sport chrono. I go back to this video every now and then, what a great lap! 😁Hope to see more cayman content in the future
Have had my cayman 987.2 for 10 years now and the first mod I did was the brakes! Giro discs, pagid pads, steel hoses, pfc fluid, gt3 brake master cylinder, gt2 brake ducts, titanium insulating plates and now it stops really well!
This model porsche looks great in white. A nice lap you did there, the car seemed a little less stable than your other porsche runs, but that must be because its not track-built and a daily driver. Thank you for sharing this lap, i enjoyed watching this one!
I do like it when you’re driving cars like this at a very quick pace and then an even faster car comes past you! 🤯 It goes to show it doesn’t matter how quick you think you or your car are, there’s always someone quicker. 👍🏼
Hey Misha, earlier this year you drove drivetribe's manual M5 E61. I was wondering when will your video be released 🤔 Спасибо за контент, сам в ближайшем будущем вряд-ли смогу приехать на ринг, поэтому твои видео как бальзам на душу :)
I do have the almost exact same car for the NS, but pre-facelift. So 295hp, but also KW Clubsport 2-way, using 19" 997S wheels with Cup 2 also. I love it, it´s reliable, comparatively cheap to maintain and not slow at all. I could fix the brake issues by 90% after I tested a couple different pads and found that the good old Pagid RSL-29 work well with the OEM or ATE rotors that I use. Squeal but work 😉 I´m only fighting with a bit of high speed oversteer because there are almost no street legal wings for this car in Germany. Did some small aero mods by now, more to come. Goal for 2023? Sub-8 BTG if I get a clean lap one day 😁 The car can do it, I know that 🤣
Ah, another one of my dream car :) Love me some Ultraleggeras too - they're mostly among the lightest wheels you can get for a certain size, that's why I chose them too - apart from them looking great. Bitch to clean tho 😅
Perhaps a strap with velcro ends put over the GoPro base and wrapped around the column would help the camera stay attached? A small hole in the middle of the strap could be made to pass through the swiveling end of the GoPro attachment to sandwich the strap between the camera and the self-adhesive base. I think it would be pretty easy to add-in to your workflow when setting up the cameras and not be bulky to carry.
That’s why I am not selling my CS and will not look further on any other models. It is a perfect adrenaline machine. I have put so much sweat and time in modifying its suspension, cooling and oil system. It’s a one adrenaline pump besides my 4c.
Keep this pov it works so well and is better to see cause the outside view up top is easy to watch and still view driver prospective & the passenger view helps. Love the vids fam👊🏽💛💯
The Cayman is built on a revised 986 platform that was never intended to race or be tracked. That is works on track too supports the brilliance of the original platform.
boy.. if that left cam was juuuuuust a little bit higher up.... We could see the steering inputs and how the car reacts! Time to try different methods for speedo cams it seems .. they keep on letting loose
I love your driving style so much ❣️👌🏼 It reminds me of the style from Walter Röhrl 😅 Merry Christmas and all good things for 2023 Micha ❕ Love from Berlin, Ramsi 😘🙋🏻♂️
scary when something falls out of sight and it can end up behind the break pedal! Misha should have told the passenger, hold the steering wheel while I find it... as J/C would say, some poo has shot out.... lol
misha always so relaxed while driving fast, and just any old random dudes car without any problem, left foot right foot... like he's done years in the car.
Faster. A lot of ppl have had manuals over a decade. Just gets tiring with traffic and people doing 24 in a 30. If in the country side why not. After 2 hrs you start to get aches around the shin and ankles. Manuals were made for short country blasts. With auto i can drive longer with less rest and get out fresh
Looks like you can’t go wrong with a Porsche. I really liked this session (and the camera angles) . Congrats to the owner for spec’ing and modding his Porsche to his needs.
I drive a 987mk2 base model 2.9. Totally love it. Is the oil cooling system performance enough for a track? 987mk2 doesn't have oil temp gauge so I'm worried when tracking it
I would (I did) add the third Radiator. The owner of the car did it aswell. The temperature is otherwise quite high. Last summer without the radiator I was at 109c for water. Roughly speaking the oil are 20 degree above water.
This is one of few times I can recall actually hearing the brakes grinding when you hit them, Misha. Sort of makes me cringe when I hear them, like something's in need of attention there? Otherwise, a very enjoyable lap to watch, thanks to your usual expertise. - Ed on the Ridge
The owner of the car is shitting his pants but having the time of his life at the same time... hahaha when he able to smile he is smiling from ear to ear
Nice vid :) thanks guys I got the exact same car, the gt3 brake cylinder will be installed this week ^^ What about the recaros, could you get them declared for TÜV? (assuming the owner is monitoring this chat :)
The steering wheel shot is really good, almost like augmented reality, we get a better idea of what you are doing in the corners
“Well, YOU need more powerful brakes” haha on point
"I don't go 9/10ths at the ring good sir!"
It was a super reply. You don’t rely how fast great drivers go til you are in the car with one
Depends, novice drivers tend to brake way too much, and overheat the brakes quicker than a more experienced driver would.

The 987 was so underrated when it came out. This car is a gem! To this day one of the best bang for buck with the 997 turbo and the R35 GT-R.

How much extra power did the tune add?
@@grad0n about 30 hp. Gonna do intake manifold and full exhaust over the winter see where it is then and decide if I wanna do a final drive.

No back seat in a 987. That shot is where the engine is! 😛 About 8 inches from your back!
I have the 987.2 cayman S black edition (32/500) with pdk and sport chrono. I go back to this video every now and then, what a great lap! 😁Hope to see more cayman content in the future
Just shows how the Cayman/Boxster platform is so enjoyable. Arguably more "fun" than higher HP, more "capable" P-Cars.
I love these camera angles... you can sense more speed even without seeing the speedo...
I agree 1000%
Loved it, new camera angles look fire as well
Love the car. Suspension and buckets in a 987 really transform the car (I've got the same seats).

That is a beautiful car in white with the gold wheels! I really like it! And the performance seems to be quite good, too!
I could really feel the grip the car makes from this video, makes me want this car even more
Love the Cayman content!
I like the over the shoulder angle. I hope it makes a come back.
this one was awesome! Loved the car, the lap and the owner seems like a standup guy!
I do like it when you’re driving cars like this at a very quick pace and then an even faster car comes past you! 🤯

What country? In Nigeria?
Yes

Great film. Micha thank you for sharing the last year here on UA-cam. Have a fantastic Xmas and I hope 2023 brings everything you wish for 👏👍😀🍾
There's something about Cayman's that I feel like I adore 'em even more than GT3's and the 2008 GT2 or GT2RS which is my favorite porsche 🥰

This was a amazing easy lap...its looks easier to do it!!! Damnnn what a magnificent car...love it!!
Top lap Misha
Yes. Very nice lap. And a comeback of the year. No you need better brakes. 😂😂 Excellent video

Not great for road driving. Worst thing about the cayman, sadly.
Man I wanted to build a 987 just like that! It's clearly everything I hoped for it!

I'm on the fence of a 789.1S or the non S. I'm just a pleb but that bigger flat 6 is really enticing
this is a great video for me because I have been looking buying a 2012-2016 cayman S/GTS or a 718 cayman S/GTS 2.5
