1. What if the carrier is not paying my money? How to i get my money after getting POD.
2. Is there any agreement document that needs to be defined with the carrier and bring him under agreement with payment terms.
1. Work with factoring company so you can secure the payment
2. Yes, there are some important agreements, and we do provide those to our students, but you can work with small business attorney to draft one for you. Hope this helps!

Thank you for this information. I have been looking into this and Independent Dispatchers are considered 3PL and require all the licenses and insurance certs that a broker would need.

Very informative! What if you're working with an independent trucker or owner operator? Does factoring work in the same way as with the trucking co.? In other words, will you always be invoicing the carrier company or independent trucker?
Most of the factoring companies work with either carriers or owner operators; even independent truck dispatcher services owners. If you are new in this industry, I would recommend working with small carriers or owner operators with their authorities.

Als you talk about what document goes where but you dont mention who has to sign what etc... for example rate confirmation.,.. if the broker sends the dispatcher the rate con..... who signs it? the carrier or the motor carrier? or both? and special process since its not directly from broker to carrier? clarification would be nice. thanks.

2nd Question: Why does the Dispatcher have to get the POD? Shouldn't the carrier send POD directly to the Broker? The Dispatcher would have only coordinated the load for carrier and got paid by credit card authorization by the time of delivery.
The delivery and POD should be a thing between the carrier and broker???

To get things in perspective, think of a dispatcher as an employee for a carrier.
Geo Zero I’m a carrier as well, I have trucks that I’m running. I have an independent dispatcher who helps me run my business and I have no problem with this at all.
Geo Zero The reason why I said you got it is because you are right by saying dispatcher got paid by credit card authorization by the time of delivery.
This all depends on a contract between the carrier and a dispatcher. Meaning, if I need paperwork done and he or she is willing to do that, then there is nothing wrong with it; just pay extra for the extra help! That’s it!

So how about a list to open a legal dispatch company ? I have learned the supplying chain . Thank you and please need item list to open independent dispatch LLC to start business.
I hear that a lot of MCs once they get paid by their factoring, do not want to pay the dispatcher. I understand about having a written contract. But it will take a very long time to collect if at all.
How to prevent this? And is this very common these days?
This is not a common practice among these players but things can happen; never happened to me though.
So, this is how you can prevent. You should have two very important documents in your dispatch-carrier package which are credit authorization form and automatic withdraw form and both of these crucial documents must be signed by your customers.
You did a job, send invoice, receive the money. If for some reason your customer is trying to trick you, terminate the contract, remove them from your customer base and move on. This is business and sometimes things get hard on you.
Dispatch Trucks this is great advice. I had a car dealership for 6 years. I had customers card numbers with signed papers. They just never had any money in accounts 😩
Now I own a trucking company (just one truck). My husband drives it. He says truckers leave dispatchers unpaid left and right. And none of them have any credit cards . That’s why I asked the question

Sonia Vich I see. As I said. Things can happen! I have 4 trucks, my buddies have 25-35 trucks and we never had this issue. See, when a dispatcher helps the company to generate substantial revenue, a carrier never leaves the dispatcher; I know carriers that pay couple thousands more for their dispatchers. Anyways, as I said before, proper set up is very important and yes I do have contracts and forms that come with my in-depth training that is about to go live.!
