Friendly advice to fellow dispatchers, DO NOT BOOK LOADS WITH TQL a day in advance, they will 99% cancel the load on the day that your driver is supposed to pick it up, leaving you stranded and in need to look for a a new one. "Their customer canceled the load", but in reality they just found someone who would take it for less, hence they will earn more. Worst brokers ever.
As someone who used to work for TQL, that is 100000000% not true. That is incredibly bad for business between a broker and a customer. If we can keep a carrier on a load, we will
I stumbled across your videos studying to get my CDLP. I usually don't comment but seeing how much effort and information you put into each one kept me coming back to learn more. It wasn't until I saw that you invoiced Phillip J. Fry, from Futurama,, that I decided to subscribe. Thank you for all that you do and all the info you provide. Your nerdiness and clear and detailed nature of talking and explaining things are greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot for this invoice info, besides you put great info for owner operator that are starting dispatching themselves you have a great charisma and attitude. Thanks again.God bless you
As a professional dispatch company we use Total Dispatcher / Turbo Dispatcher TMS for our entire business. Hard working from spreadsheets when you have 50+ carriers
Thank you so much for this video. This was one of the best videos. Very easy to follow and understand. Clear steps , great follow on being able to follow along. Helping my son start his owner operator trucking company in which I will be doing dispatching. So this was very very helpful. Thank you
Your dispatching is quite different to mine. I work for a firm which deals primarily with national distribution, our cargo is quite mixed (pallets and packets) of multiple clients to multiple consignees. Our contracts are primarily express delivery (within 24 hours), but we dont do same day delivery. We deliver to businesses for the most part. We work with like 8 contractors, use 5-6 trucks and 7-9 delivery vans every day. Each day I dispatch from data we get from all our clients and partners, which consists of like 350-650 shipments to various locations in my country.
Your videos have been so helpful! Thank you so much! I have been driving for 24 years and now of all times decided to get my own authority and truck. I will be pulling a flat bed. A little nervous with todays markets though.
You've got this! The market will go up and down always. Just make sure you have a safety cushion because when just starting, your expenses will outweigh your income in the very beginning.
Thank you for all this information im very very New to this, but i really want to and need to learn! My brothers and i have wanted to start this trucking business. My brother does drive and have their own truck. They want me to drive as well, but honestly i rather be their dispatcher! I’m more of a computer tech savvi! So im doing my best to learn and get started!
Hello Young lady, sorry I missed your name in your video, I really appreciate this very much. I must have missed it, but which video do you discuss how to find Drivers for loads you want to book? Thanks again 🙂
Good video, im just a driver but, What about dividing miles by 50 mph for the fringing driver so he has time to make on time delivery. I was expected to drive 600ish miles after I already was 4 hrs into my 14hr clock. I'm a driver and I don't know alot about dispatching.
@EVERYONE DISPATCH 101? 😂( things you NEED to know prior to all she mentioned in this video)....if you are wanting to be a dispatcher and making it your own business, theres a few more steps you need to do. BEFORE jumping onto any load boards. You have to have a registered business and a company like ink file to assist you with your process for one year. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT go into this without doing the above important steps first. Also for those who have and are ready, theres an app to check brokers credibility....bad grades on brokers can affect your pay. I recommend working with a third party company first so you can get the contracts documents and some type of rapport with these brokers. This business can be hectic or it can be less hectic if tou know what your getting into before hand. I commend the person who did this video but some information is highly recommended.
I just started (2 weeks almost) my dispatch company with a few friends. Since it's just the start, it becomes so annoying sometimes when calling carriers to ask them to work with us. I tried finding some best paying loads around $3/m and more but they didn't take it. Some drivers/carriers talk so rudely that it breaks my heart. Like hey bro, if you don't wanna work, at least be polite when refusing rather than abusing profanities. Can you please guide me what am i doing wrong when reaching them (carrier) out? I've tried most of the psychological techniques used to acquire a hot lead.
Good morning sir I'm a freight dispatcher having experience of dispatching for more than 2 years looking for dedicated carriers to whom I can work with to enhance the growth . Fully experienced with refer, dryvan, flatbad, loads, billing, invoices, mail management, updating services etc.
Hey thank you for all the work you do! Very helpful information all on your page. I have a question about the carrier package. If I’m looking to just start a dispatching service business, will I need to fill out separate packets for each driver using their MC and DOT # for every owner/operator I dispatch for? Thank you again for your help
Do you have to invoice brokers in order to get paid? What info do you send the doctoring company? Invoicing would be for loads not going to any factoring right?
Looks like you are good you know how to take care of your drivers I don't have a dispatch I do my loads myself idea came out maybe we start work couple of weeks together what do you think ?Arthur
I am wondering what are the working hours for a truck dispatcher. I suppose truck dispatchers have to make themselves available 24/7 in case there are emergencies like truck mechanical problems, various kinds of issues in the process of loading or unloading a truck, etc. I would appreciate if someone with experience could comment on that. Thanks for a very positive attitude throughout the video!
You set your own schedule and you take on only what you can handle. I recommend trying no more than 3 to start until your comfortable to handle the loads and load boards. I was blessed, I happen to have found some drivers that were looking for a dispatcher and I only dealt with those two, until I was comfortable enough to handle it. I also found that late night, early morning on Thursday I was able to get my driver's set up for the week ahead. Yes there's ups n downs to this business you have to find what works for you and build from there.

How do I find contact info to haul for your family business ! I have 28 years experience - I pull loads for TQL for a long time and there practice has not change to cancal your load just before you pick load , spend your time and fuel to pick up load tql don’t care ! You will not get paid for your lost time or fuel!!!
My wife is looking to get into freight dispatching, would you be able to recommend schooling to become certified? If that’s a thing? Just looking up info so I can help her get started
Most of the time you'll be filling info for your carrier. They'll give you power of attorney to fill in on their behalf. Carrier would either be the owner operator or name of the company of the driver you're going to work with.
You can join an existing brokerage by being hired by that broker or by buying an MC that is no longer used by a broker. In terms of the DAT, I am not sure.
Good day I'm a owner operator out of Ga I pay $350 every week until it's paid off I want to know could I make that truck my business while I'm still making truck payment plz help thank you

very clear and simple. appreciate your time and effort. great info in simple and orderly fashion.
Lol dispatching dispatching dispatching that’s funny but you’re right sometimes you can’t understand why some people don’t get it
BTW, that 'factor' check mark is only if the broker is factoring through OTR, NOT factoring in general.
