Donna you’re such an amazing teacher and very generous with your information. I’m so appreciative of you and for guidance along this journey to health restoration. I have a small bone to pick with you about how to make the initial batch of kefir soda. You no longer mention that we can make it with whey of kefir milk. You only promote using kefir powder as a starter. I bought my kefir grains from you and use the whey like you use to teach us to use prior to your making of the powder starter.

I still have the option to use kefir whey and the amounts to use in all my kefir soda recipes. This is still a good option. However it is less consistent than our kefir soda starter and the bacteria will be more similar to milk kefir vs our kefir soda starter which has bifidobacteria ( a very powerful and important bacteria that most people need more of) and S. boulardi a powerful and probiotic good yeast. So you will get more diversity and benefits by consuming milk kefir and kefir soda made with our super food starter vs milk kefir and kefir soda made with kefir whey. Hope this helps!

This video popped up just in time! It's going to start warming up here and I've given up buying soda and love sweet tea but don't want the sugar. I already make and give the dogs kefir nearly everyday but I like it fizzy. Can't wait to start! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I always listen to your podcasts when I'm under my red lights. 😊

Many thanks for this clarification Donna. I was wondering about the difference. I consume both. 1 cup of kefir soda in the morning and 1 cup Kombucha in the fyernoon.

I'm so addicted to the bubbly sour Kefir. Lovely frozen and used in a fruit smoothies too! Mmm.
I feed our Kombucha brew, green tea and raw honey. And then do a second ferment when (bottling it up) with Pineapple juice or Mulberry juice. So yum!
Thanks for the name of the healthy yeasts! Important all round information .. 🙏🏽
That makes sense about the body joints. Healthy bacteria resides on every sheath and sinew in our body. It's not just our mouth to butt system that needs healthy bacteria colonies..
Did not know that about the calcium build up thanks 🗝
Lactobacillus and bifidobacterium are two very important ones. Interestingly, this is one that we receive as infants, through vaginal birth..
Candida overgrowth attacked my oesophagus (unbeknown for God knows how long) and that's what got me onto milk Kefir!
The Overgrowth was upsetting my thyroid. Once I got rid of the Overgrowth, my thyroid came good by itself. The conversation I had with the ear nose throat specialists surrounding, candida overgrowth being the primary cause of secondary thyroid problems, too interesting not to share

Can you share more regarding candida affect on the thyroid. Thanks.

@@m.walter2178 Underactive thyroid can indicate candida overgrowth. PubMed has heaps of studies on the subject, I later found out.. Some titles are
*Is candida linked to hyperthyroidism .gov
      * candida and thyroid disease .gov
Mayo Clinic is generally really good at writing these studies up into Layman terms.. How I found out I had an Overgrowth, the ear nose throat specialist gave me a throat swab.. 🙏🏽🗝

How would you deal with Kefir if there was a grid down situation with no refrigeration ?
