Hey Donna, I was reading about how you started giving your daughter a little milk kefir in her bottles I believe at 10 months old? I am due with my second soon and wondered if I can start adding it to her formula bottles asap? Maybe just a teaspoon or so..

I made each batch separately then I took 1 tablespoon of the L Reuteri and 1 tablespoon of the L Gasseri and I made it one yogurt. It is delicious.

    Just subscribed 👍🏻
Just been diagnosed with SIBO and plan on making the L. reuteri yogurt. My question that hasn’t been answered in any research is if I have to follow a low FODMAD diet while trying to correct my gut issues.

No you do not have to follow a low fodmad diet. If any food does bother you you can avoid it at the beginning of starting to eat the L. Reuteri yogurt.

A concern I have is that the vast majority of the healthy bacteria in the Kefir don't make past the stomach. Does anyone have some insight into this?

There are so many people who got better by eating kefir.. i think its such an affordable thing to try urself, that just take up the kefir habit and see urself if it works for you 😇

If you allow the kefir to ferment a little longer on your kitchen counter (maybe 4 hours more) the healthy bacteria will increase to high numbers. This means there will be enough healthy bacteria that make it thru the stomach into the colon. Dr Davis in his book ‘Supergut’ discusses this.

Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria from fermented foods especially in a kefir matrix like an acid environment. They produce lactic acid and thrive in this environment.

I eat oranges instead of having orange juice. I have blueberries and strawberries, but I don’t have any of the powders that you have mentioned. I’m going to try that HMO powder and add it to my Kiefer which I make every day also.Thank you for your knowledge, your very intelligent and I appreciate people like you. You care about others and that is a great quality and you should be very proud.🫶👍.
