Radical Face - Always Gold [Official Video]

- For this video, I wrote a treatment that followed the song's story. It follows a couple of brothers, and is from the point of view of the one who's always around to clean up the other's messes and get him out of trouble. My friend, Brian, was kind enough to both play my brother in the video and let us use his house (taking it apart in the process). We made the whole thing for under 50 bucks since we already owned most of the necessary props. We also learned the dangers of sketchy moonshine.
Footage by: Michael Walter and Mark Hubbard
Actors (?): Ben Cooper and Brian Guiry
Production and Set Design: Emeral Cooper and Brittany Cooper

I consider myself pretty lucky to be one of Ben's friends, and am consistently blown away by the quality of work he and some of our other friends put out. And for the record, yes he really is as nice of a person in real life as he appears to be. Also, it's weird to think that over three thousand people have watched me vomit moonshine into a fire.
It's over 1 million soon. You have stopped the moonshine with that vomit
I am shocked he is not more popular than he is. He is one of my favorite artists and I tell people to listen to him all the time. I wish he would come to Wyoming and perform I would love to see him in person. He is extremely talented with the unique things he does with the music the lyrics are moving and his voice is great. I just love him!
@Shannon O'Dea oh my I grew up in Lander. Wish I had had a band like this growing up. Glad I found them years later tho
That’s good that you know Ben fam
I really hate people who bragged in the internet about knowing talented, kind, wonderful, extraordinary and out of the ordinary singer. Humph!! I wish I was his friend too 🥴
"But you can blame me when there's no one left to blame, I don't mind."
This is strong
This sentence Hits hard.
My brother is dead.
Its us 4 girls now with a farm my dad will give us, like his father did.
Many people say how bad it is for my father to only have girls and i absolutely hate it to say that i just have 3 sisters.
And i hurts.
I cant blame my brother. I'd just hope he knows that i'd pick every pain over not knowing that i have a brother.
I'd never blame you.
I love you. I miss you. Forever
I can't listen to this song without crying, seriously, it portrays the relationship between siblings overall in such a simple, yet powerful way.
Same. I lost my best hs friend to suicide a few years after I left for college. I've worked on processing and Maki g peace with it for years. This song brought it all directly back to my heart, Luke too was one that no one else seemed to see value in. We learned to play guitar together and generally did everything together those last years in school. God rest your soul bud. Thank you for sharing you talent and amazing songs Ben.
I had to put my 15 year old to sleep a couple days ago. I was so calm and cool about it, of course I was, right? After all he was just a dog. Then I heard this song. I didn't realize he was like my brother for all those years. My wife and neighbors hated him. When the line, "you would never have no worth, but you were always gold to me" hit me, I just lost it. I just broke down. It's too much
Sorry for your LOSS - because that's what it truly is when you lose a pet. I know from experience, it takes a piece of your soul. That's where music exceeds all other art...it truly means something different to everyone, and it has literally saved my life during the hardest parts of it.
Sorry for your loss. You know that we, humans, don't deserve dogs... I mean, they give it all to us, they are always gold. No matter what.
I understand completely. My dog died yesterday and I feel lost without him.
Never “just a dog”.
Who the hell would hate a dog
I just listened to this song fifty seven times
eirelister9 67 me :)
same bro
Me too
Ikr, just never fades😍😍😍
Being the brother that always makes the mess. This song helps me to clean up myself. You have saved a life Ben. Thank you, honestly.
"And they said you were the crooked kind
That you would never have no worth
But you were always gold to me"
I almost cry every time I hear these lines. This is true love.
This song speaks perfectly to so many of the best brotherly relationships presented in fiction. It's Thor, waiting for Loki to see sense and come back to his family. It's Dean waiting for Sam to give up his dreams of university and rejoin his family. It's Sam waiting for Dean to realise he wants a normal life too and come join him. It's 'a wonderful song of peace and acceptance, and of unconditional love even in troubled relationships. This song will always be gold to me :)
Gray Wing and Clear Sky
Ben Cooper will always be gold to me.
One of my close childhood freinds just overdosed from fentynal. Came back to this song it reminds me of me and him. He was always a little trouble maker, a rebellious guy with nothing but love. A lot of people would put him down behind his back for it, nothing ever could change my mind on him as a person i loved him like my own flesh and blood. Thank you for this masterpiece of a song.
Unlike most of my loves, I can explain this one. This mad love I have for this band. They have excelled everything in my opinion. At least with me, they have struck every chord. Their songs' lyrics don't ask you to shake it off or love harder, but through every song, they tell you a story. A peek into another life full of emotions. And, so help me god, their music is amazing. On the top of that, they make such beautiful videos.
I don't know what more I could possibly ask for. I am thankful to Blacklist for leading me here. :)
+Aditya Jhalani This isn't a band. Ben Cooper (Aka Radical face) is one person.
+Excalibur Gaming Oh, Radical Face is one of Ben Cooper's projects, right? I assumed it was a band.
Radical Face is Ben Cooper's solo project, but sometimes people from other projects play instruments or whatnot. I know Alex Kane, who is half of Ben's other project Electric President, has played on multiple songs other the years.
Aditya Jhalani that’s how I feel about linking Park, how I felt about Chester Bennington 😔💔
Linkin Park *
We were tight-knit boys
Brothers in more than name
You would kill for me
And knew that I'd do the same
And it cut me sharp hearing you'd gone away
But everything goes away
Yeah, everything goes away
But I'm gonna be here til I'm nothin
But bones in the ground
And I was there when you grew restless
And left in the dead of night
And I was there when three months later
You were standing in the door
All beaten and tired
And I stepped aside
Everything goes away
Yeah, everything goes away
But I am gonna be here til I'm nothing
But bones in the ground
So quiet down
We were opposites at birth
I was steady as a hammer
No one worried cause they knew just where I'd be
And they said you were the crooked kind
That you would never have no worth
But you were always gold to me
Back when we were kids
We swore we knew the future
And our words would take us halfway round the world
But I never left this town
And you never saw new york
And we ain't never crossed the sea
But I am fine with where I am now
This home is home and all that I need
But for you this place is shame
But you can blame me when there's no one left to blame
No, I don't mind
Well, all my life
I've never known where you've been
There are holes in you
The kind that I could not mend
And I heard you say
Right when you left that day
Does everything go away?
Yeah, everything goes away
But I am gonna be here til forever
So just call when you're around
Mount1974 Excellent
Ty
Thank you sir.
This is really an underrated song, it's beautiful, the melody is perfect, and just a pleasure to experience. One of my all time favorites.
This deserves more views
Right? I'm a new fan thanks to my son. His music and his lyrics always hug the soul.
Yes it does.
The Blacklist loves Radical. They've used them three times now I think.
it's one guy named Ben Cooper. that info should save you from butthurting über radical Face fans.
Matthew Setlak Nice save, man.
No show brought me here! Just the love for Radical Face and Ben's lyrics!
Does everything go away?
Yeah, everything goes away.
akshay sethi hows quarantine going for you? Hi!
@@kellydamen8094 „but I’m going to be there till forever“
As a person who lost her sibling, those are the best lines
I’m going back and reading comments of this song. It’s pretty amazing how music brings together people and helps in some way! This song is still amazing!!
this is s song for my friends. they all left me in the town. we had a future planed out. move to new York and live together. we made nicknames and hung out alot. now there all gone. And I'm left alone. I love you all and hope to see you again one day
+Just Cause I Can until then, we got your back. Take care my friend.
I can relate bruh I miss my old friends from chatthoochee high school my old school every single day I can relate mate
Same happened to me, i lost my two bestfriends since they're joining another group without inviting me. They left me alone since a year ago, and tbh i feel angry to them to this day. But deep down in my heart i still love both of them.
Last time i met my true friends was when i'm on highschool. We never wanted to think those moments will eventually over, and now they're all only the memories i'll keep to death.
Hope things are going ok for you
I hope you're okay.
thought im past the crying stage after listening to this song for so many times. then I found this video and cried a river
This song made me realize that my father was more my brother than my father. I knew him better than anyone. I knew his pain and suffering and why he self medicated with alcohol. While the rest of the family vilified him, he was my best friend and I was his. RIP Dad.
Every single one of your songs has me on the verge of breakdown every time. Honestly, thank you.
Makes me wanna cry every fucking time i listen to it
this track speaks to my soul.
Shazam helps me find this song while I was wathing "Aloha" movie, that brought me here.
i am so happy that there are people in the world who still make beautiful music like this. being a teen this speaks to me way more then lady gaga or nkki minaj ever would. i hope to hear more music in the future!!!
Truly
Just discovered this gem today through a playlist.
This is actually much better than most modern music today.
this video always make me tear......so touching
This song speaks to me on one of the deepest levels of my soul. Stay awesome Ben Cooper :)
This is amazing! Telltales The Walking Dead Kenny & Lee video brought me here!
still to this day one of the saddest and at the same time happiest songs I've heard.
"There was holes in you, the kind i could not mend"
Maaaan.... I wish I could hang out with this dude. His songs hit home for me. Lost my 18 year old brother a few years ago. Feel like this illustrates not only his and my relationship. It then turns around and fits my older brother and my relationship perfectly as well. The lines about holes that he can't mend in his brother and how differently the view the home they grew up in. It almost bring me to tears everytime, but then everything goes away.
Great Song about brotherhood, friendship and that one is always connected to the ppl he/she loves in one or another way.
known this song for years and still makes me shiver
My brother couldn't have been more different but we would do anything for each other. He is the one that stayed, and he is now bones in the ground, died 25 years ago. I left many years before and made a great life but miss him still.
From one Ben to another. Thank you for this. I lost a brother a few years back due to some of his very questionable choices and this hit me right in the feels. Thank you for this. I have another brother that recently came out to a very conservative Christian family and listening to your stories and giving a small glimpse into the struggles you went through has reminded me to put love above all else. You have a real talent, thank you for sharing it!
This song almost made me cry because I was thinking about what the potential future could hold for my brother, and myself.
I will forever wonder how an artist can be so underrated. Ben is one of the greatest songwriters or my era!!!

I can't believe I found this after so many years.
I have listened it after 4 years.
This song came up on Pandora and I instantly fell in love.
I'm a grown-ass man and this song brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. Nothing else I've listened to evokes the kind of emotion and connection I feel when I listen to this very piece. I can't wait to see you again Christian, Miss you man.
This song always gets me emotional thinking about my best friend. I haven't known a day without him and this song hits that thought so hard

I would have thought that for such a profound affect this highly captivating and ingenious music has on me, I would be even more fired up by its intricacy and grandness... But it also leaves me smiling warmly, with my mind peacefully blown away and a feeling of melancholic yet delightfull serenity!
Thank you Ben!

I must thank you for making this video. It captures the essence of this song and then some. I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face.
