I heard this song for the first time when things were pretty crappy in my life, I was depressed and decided to adopt a cat, he helped me to distract from the bad thoughts I was having. I remember listening to this song while my cat slept in my lap and for the first time I felt like I was responsible for taking care of someone. Kinda dumb but made me want to still alive.
Try the drop in The Bird Hunters by Turnpike Troubadours. Even if you aren't a fan of that style of music, the imagery, feeling, and beauty of the song is amazing.
Wind in the air. A nostalgic song, no one knows why. It’s just that kind of song. It built from memories, thrown away and forgotten, but radical face brought them back, a masterpiece of broken dreams. That’s why we can all feel it. The tug in your heart, to explore, live life, and be happy. It’s sad but joyful. We all in some way know why… welcome home 🫡
I used to listen to this song every day with my best friend, before she committed suicide. Since then, I come back every year to feel the sensation of her presence and love one more time. Goodbye, Nicole. I still love u.
My girlfriend committed suicide almost 7 years ago. The first time I heard this song was in a video tribute type thing a friend put together; now it's what I associate it with and it never fails to make me cry. Hope you're doing alright ♥️
This song released on the same year i left my country to travel the world and make a better future..it's almost 15 years, now this years i finally getting a chance get back to my country and hometown.. happy to sing (welcome home)..
I heard this song back in 2010 on the radio, heard the home part and it instantly became my favorite song. I never heard it again after that and I was young so I didn’t have a phone and could never look it up. I recently found it again last week and I’m so flooded with emotions.
even me brother i saw and heard it for the first time on youtube....the date was 15th april 2010 i still even remmeber it and i was only 5 years old and from them on i completely forgot about and today when i was scrolling through instagram i found this song and when i heard this again on youtube after 11 years again i literally cried bro ❤️❤️😭😭 memories are memories 😃
Same thing!! 2000 decade was an era! An era of heart touching music! We heard songs on FM and that was the only source, waiting for your kind of music to be played! It was beautiful. No phones. A lot of surprises! Life was never complex! Purity, realness and innocence existed in people. These songs just tear your heart upon making you feel too nostalgic! 🥺
Over 20yrs ago lost my best friend to brain cancer… this was one of the songs, along with: New Slang by the Shins, and Fader by the Temper Trap that we always had on the radio. Now he lives on forever through joyful memories. 💭
Sleep don't visit, so I choke on sun And the days blur into one And the backs of my eyes hum with things I've never done Sheets are swaying from an old clothesline Like a row of captured ghosts over old dead grass Was never much but we made the most Welcome home (ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome...) Ships are launching from my chest Some have names but most do not If you find one, please let me know what piece I've lost Heal the scars from off my back I don't need them anymore You can throw them out or keep them in your mason jars I've come home (ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome...) All my nightmares escaped my head Bar the door, please don't let them in You were never supposed to leave Now my head's splitting at the seams And I don't know if I can Here, beneath my lungs, I feel your thumbs press into my skin again
This song feels like a roadtrip with your friends ,wind blowing on your face, speaker booming playing this song, laughter from your mates, sun on your face ,the sound of the ocean tides and nostalgia😅
I lost my doggo today due to parvo virus. I'm writing this at 1 o'clock when my dog used to bark along with some street dogs and right now I am really missing him. He was fighting very hard till his last breath but sadly he could not win. RIP Sane missing you a lot
Listening to this song while battling life and trying to heal my wounds. This song brings me peace and for anyone going through a tough time, I’m living proof that you’ll make it through. Just stay true to who you are.
Sometimes I wonder will I ever get to meet such people in real life too (like you). You know there's something with some songs not only they are brilliant but the comment section is also equally good and the comments are so relatable and touching that we wonder where are these kind of people, they are just like me, thinks like me, going through same things like me and may be wants the same thing from life (peace)❤️
I remember when I was getting ready for my first trip to Canada and stumbled upon this incredible song. Every time I hear it, it brings back such wonderful memories, and I can’t help but wish I could relive those moments again.
It seems to me that all the people who listen to this wonderful song, are so sad of loosing that careless time of their lifes...but like, guys! You are still alive! Why not create a ‘back’ to that? You are just so caught up in a life that’s been made up and if you just close your eyes, life itself is vibrating inside of you. And if you want to run barefoot in the rain, WHY NOT DO IT? Childhood is gone, but that doesn’t stop you from being child and having the happiest moments of your life! It’s on us to make it different... Have a great day! :D
I've been sober for over 4 months now. I imagine my sobriety telling me welcome home and out of that mess when I listen to this song, and it makes me happier and content with where I am.
Michael Massengale I’m still going! 11 months! Good luck dude. It always gets easier. Focus on the mental health. Meditation. Exercise. Journal out them negative feelings. You got this.
The best description I've seen regarding this song is that it makes you feel all the feelings. For me that was many years ago when I left my family and friends to move to a small town in the mountains for student teaching. As I drove through the mountains east of Santa Fe I knew I was home.
Yes I know that place! My dad was born around there and I was born somewhere way way further and we’ve moved out of the country but the mountains and ocean and forests will forever be home and I hope to return soon 🥲
People say this song reminds them of a place they don't even know exists. I'd say this song remembers me of a good time that has long passed than a placed I don't know.
I remember reading a father's poem about the lost of his son here. I can't find it anymore. Luckily I was so impressed and choked by the weight of the words in this poem that I thought : "It should thrive beyond the ages" so I copied it on my computer. Now that I can't find it anymore, I decided to paste it here again so the memories of this Dad, I remember his nickname was Wade, and his son can be set in stone. So here it is : The young man sat alone, dozing in his chair Until a little voice piped up, “Daddy, are you there?” He gazed upon his son while waking from his nap Then reached down with a sweeping move and placed him in his lap The child was carrying a book that he wanted him to see He held it up and asked, “Daddy, will you read to me?” The father cleaned his glasses then opened up the book And suddenly the two of them a wonderous journey took They ventured into lands far away, sailed seas not sailed before Met knights and kings and wizards on every distant shore Together they fought dragons, saved damsels in distress Freeing lands of nasty monsters and the treasures they possess When they finally closed the cover to end their magic ride He told his son, “We're much like books, what's important is inside.” But then one day the old man woke from napping in his chair And to his disappointment, his son was suddenly not there He ran to find his wife for surely she would know Why the house was empty and where did his only son go She sat him down and asked him if he remembered in each book The adventures and the journeys that he and his son had took All the hopes and dreams that only you can find The memories that are yours to see if you open up your mind He still walks beside you in the stories you have read You're not left to go alone, he’s simply gone on ahead The old man went and chose a book and sat back in his chair And opening up the cover whispered, “Son, are you there?”
You really start to remember how life was like 10 years ago, when you had fun. Nowadays things have turned out differently. The song that will take you back to the good old times will never be forgotten.
the present, will become your past, cherish every moment, life never gets better, we get stronger, the more we know the sadder we're. Knowledge is both boon & curse.
After 6 years, I finally found this song.. I thought it was a Canon advertisement.. I keep on searching for “canon advertisement soundtrack” at yt and nothing came up.. the Nikon ad always appear in cinema but I keep on confused about Nikon and Canon.. TOOK ME LEGIT 6 YEARS TO FIND THIS SONG AND FINALLY I DISCOVERED THIS SONG DURING THE 2ND WEEK OF QUARANTINE!!!!!
The first time i heard this song was when I was in Germany. I had gone to Germany on a scholarship and it was a dream come true. All the efforts I had put in finally made it possible for me. I met so many people there who became my family for the time I was there. This song not only reminds me of those people but the air I breathed and the ground I stood on. I cry when I hear this song because it takes me back to those memories and I really can't get enough of it.
I am a Venezuelan in Lima, Peru, and I miss my family, my mother, the streets of my city, my living room, the corridors of my house, the sunsets, the evenings of calm, the weather, many other things. This song reminds me of everything that was taken from me and taken away from our youth in my country, it also reminds me of the day when I arrive at my house after so many years and my parents say "Welcome Home". Thanks Radical Face! I love you Venezuela from a distance.
Como peruano solo puedo decirte que espero que tu país se libere de esa dictadura y que seas libre de poder volver a tu hogar. No me gustaría que algo así le pasara a mi país, ni tampoco que le suceda a otros países. Espero que te estén tratando bien aquí.
The way this song makes me feel is nearly indescribable. It reminds me of my childhood, of days spent running through the woods barefoot, of campfires at night and roasting marshmallows and catching lightning bugs, of the dog days of summer and window fans, of the first warm days of spring playing with my friends outside. It's simultaneously happy and sad, reminds you of happier, more carefree times until you are brought back to crushing reality. Edit: holy fucking shit I did not realize I got so many likes. Thanks guys!
You.. You really brought that into perspective and made me weep in the corner of my room for about half an hour. Childhood, man. We all miss it, and we all love it. :(
I used to listen and play this song in parks while drinking wine with my friends back in 2012 when I was 18 ...I came back after all this years and I feel nostalgic...9 years have gone so fast and almost none of those friends still around here. This song is art
Or the friends I never truly wanted but was forced to be with thru grade/high school with, they where not nice to me. I have/had great friends now! That after 4 deaths 2 very difficult to wrap my head around want me back and I push them away. I want them back and they open there hearts with soo much love! Thanks true friends, today was an 😭😭😭 day for me that I didn't know how to handle! I like this song but hopefully will never listen to again!
This song makes me want to cry, but in the best way. It sounds like nostalgia and homesickness and coming home but not to a physical building home but to a person or a place that made you feel safe as a kid. It sounds like growing up in the summers where you could play forever and you never got old got sick got hurt you just kept playing under the stars and there’s so much potential for the future that you can’t wait to get started but you also can’t wait to get back to playing like there’s no tomorrow. It sounds like the slight warp in the photo albums spanning decades to mirror the softened and rose-tinted warp in your memories of those times.
Wow, you described it perfectly. I'm living in other country, I'm far away from my loved ones, far away from my safe place 😢 But every time I listen to this beautiful song, it becomes more bearable to be so far away from what I love the most.
One day I will return home. For too many years I have lived in foreign lands. The longer I live abroad the more I realize who I am and where I come from and where my home is. No money or job is worth it, as the craziness and longing for adventure is long past I will contemplate returning to my roots and enjoy the rest of my life.
This is the song I'm gonna play when I'm about to die and remember my complete life...thinking of the adventures, my family, friends and opportunities I got in my life.
This song embodies the feeling of letting go of my pain and shame after 10 years of sleepwalking through life in a crippling heroin addiction. To feel everything completely once again.
@@amandalynnblaze9799 thank you so much! It feels beyond ecstatic to be fully engaged with life again. It’s a miracle I survived and in savoring every moment.
Man this song makes me choke up and think about Times when things were more simple. Or atleast they seemed to be. Where does all the time go? Why do we have to age so fast? Why does life have to be so short.. and why do most of us take the moments of life for granted. Life’s just one big ass trip that I won’t ever understand. And that’s the beauty of it. This song ... Pure Nostalgia. One of the songs that can make a Big guy like myself cry.
Where are men like you not where I live?? Lol. Seriously, though, it's so important to be connected to one's feelings. Writing this demonstrates that you're strong. Thank you, and I hope you can continue to be an awesome example for other men!
I, like many other people, found this beauty via the Nikon ad. But not only did I fall in love with this song. I fell in love with the band. Please take the time to listen to one of their albums if you like it. EDIT: Learnt it's a one man band!
I know. I'm also sure that he has people collaborate with him for some songs, and a band for live performances because live he can't play all those instruments.
I heard this song for the first time this year (2024) when I stayed 2 months at Crete in Greece. 🇬🇷 I will always remember the fantastic vibe and the coolness of this island, it was incredible: Beach, Sun, Mountains, sea, waves, palm trees, good food, absolutely beautiful cities, swimming pools and so much more. Thank you, Radical Face.😥❤🙏
I used to have this song on repeat constantly when I was in secondary school. 7 years later my music taste has totally changed (I discovered death metal), and only a week ago I remembered the title. What a nostalgic song, I'm weeping 😭
the fact that things song is 11 years old and i found it in 2020 makes me feel weird.. and this song brings me some flashbacks...ive never had wow tysm for that many likes, ive never got even 20 before lmao
I think about where I was as a person when I first heard this song (at 16), and now 14 years later. It's amazing how the world - or atleast your perception of it - changes.
The US Navy has a tradition that no submarine is ever considered lost at sea. Subs that don't return are considered "still on patrol." Every year, sailors manning communications hubs send holiday greetings to those listed as still on patrol.
One of the verses sums up the vibe of this song nicely: "Heal the scars from off my back, I don't need them anymore. You can throw them out or keep them in your jars. I've come home" Despite all the troubles the world may rest on our weary souls, there will come a time where we can look back at our journey, and through our wisdom, follow the path back to where it all began, where peace and harmony still roam, within the walls where we lived our golden days. It's a very healing song. I think that's why most find it nostalgic and emotional. I cherish this masterpiece.
I always thought they said, “peel the scars from off my back. You can throw them out or keep them in your mason jars.” This thought always thoroughly disgusted me
I was taking a walk in the woods full of cicadas when this came on rotation. When the chorus started, the cicada screams faded into the melody, harmonizing beautifully. This is indeed home.
I literally don't know if I should cry or be happy when I hear this song.. Probably both... I don't know I just get so emotional every time I hear this song. It's so magical somehow. It's probably the best song which was ever produced. ever.
i feel so incredibly homesick.. this song- i’m literally in tears right now. this song makes me think of a man returning back to his old home after some sort of disaster had taken place, and all of the memories of the home just hit him.. and he regrets ever leaving in the first place. this is what i’m getting from the song; at least what it means to me. i feel like actually crying omfg-

I remember listening to this song while my cat slept in my lap and for the first time I felt like I was responsible for taking care of someone. Kinda dumb but made me want to still alive.
❤️
🥺❤️
Thank you for the story Lola
IT's not dumb... it's a really pretty story...I felt it while I listened to the song...
That's beautiful Lola
The drop in this song gives me goose bumps and teary eyes, love it.
I don't know why i get tears when i hear the music and it feels so nostalgic.
Burst into tears when I finally found and listened to it in full about 18 months ago.
Try the drop in The Bird Hunters by Turnpike Troubadours. Even if you aren't a fan of that style of music, the imagery, feeling, and beauty of the song is amazing.
Me too 😢❤
I’m a Fuji man but this always reminds me of Nikon so it did it’s job lol
Wind in the air. A nostalgic song, no one knows why. It’s just that kind of song. It built from memories, thrown away and forgotten, but radical face brought them back, a masterpiece of broken dreams. That’s why we can all feel it. The tug in your heart, to explore, live life, and be happy. It’s sad but joyful. We all in some way know why… welcome home 🫡
Amen
I used to listen to this song every day with my best friend, before she committed suicide. Since then, I come back every year to feel the sensation of her presence and love one more time.

I heard this song back in 2010 on the radio, heard the home part and it instantly became my favorite song. I never heard it again after that and I was young so I didn’t have a phone and could never look it up. I recently found it again last week and I’m so flooded with emotions.
Congratulations bro I feel you same happened with me

Same thing!! 2000 decade was an era! An era of heart touching music! We heard songs on FM and that was the only source, waiting for your kind of music to be played! It was beautiful. No phones. A lot of surprises! Life was never complex! Purity, realness and innocence existed in people. These songs just tear your heart upon making you feel too nostalgic! 🥺
Had the same problem with looking up songs
First time listening was from an ads during cinema , from Nikon i think
Everyone talking about Harry potter
But the real legends are here because of the Nikon commercials.
“I am more than just a camera, I am a Nikon.” What a perfect piece of advertising that was.

Over 20yrs ago lost my best friend to brain cancer… this was one of the songs, along with: New Slang by the Shins, and Fader by the Temper Trap that we always had on the radio. Now he lives on forever through joyful memories. 💭
Im so sorry… this is the type of songs that can remind us of people that have been important to us
This proves what your friendship was like. If you still remember those moments, good luck to you, friend.
Sorry for your loss, its nice to know your friend lives on through these songs in a way.
It wasn't a very good childhood, but this song makes me remember all the good things I lived.
Right. It was literally fucking terrible. Why do I miss it so much? *cries*
Sleep don't visit, so I choke on sun
And the days blur into one
And the backs of my eyes hum with things I've never done
Sheets are swaying from an old clothesline
Like a row of captured ghosts over old dead grass
Was never much but we made the most
Welcome home (ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome...)
Ships are launching from my chest
Some have names but most do not
If you find one, please let me know what piece I've lost
Heal the scars from off my back
I don't need them anymore
You can throw them out or keep them in your mason jars
I've come home (ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome, ho-o-ome...)
All my nightmares escaped my head
Bar the door, please don't let them in
You were never supposed to leave
Now my head's splitting at the seams
And I don't know if I can
Here, beneath my lungs, I feel your thumbs press into my skin again

Sometimes I wonder will I ever get to meet such people in real life too (like you).

The best description I've seen regarding this song is that it makes you feel all the feelings. For me that was many years ago when I left my family and friends to move to a small town in the mountains for student teaching. As I drove through the mountains east of Santa Fe I knew I was home.

People say this song reminds them of a place they don't even know exists. I'd say this song remembers me of a good time that has long passed than a placed I don't know.
I wanted to be with old friends having old fun today, then this song came on, and made it worse.
It reminds me of a place that I didn’t get back then and that is mentally killing me now
Its called "hiraeth"
and my dying dad too
I think it's called Hiraeth: feeling nostalgia for a place you can't go back to
I remember reading a father's poem about the lost of his son here. So here it is :
The young man sat alone, dozing in his chair
Until a little voice piped up, “Daddy, are you there?”
He gazed upon his son while waking from his nap
Then reached down with a sweeping move and placed him in his lap
The child was carrying a book that he wanted him to see
He held it up and asked, “Daddy, will you read to me?”
The father cleaned his glasses then opened up the book
And suddenly the two of them a wonderous journey took
They ventured into lands far away, sailed seas not sailed before
Met knights and kings and wizards on every distant shore
Together they fought dragons, saved damsels in distress
Freeing lands of nasty monsters and the treasures they possess
When they finally closed the cover to end their magic ride
He told his son, “We're much like books, what's important is inside.”
But then one day the old man woke from napping in his chair
And to his disappointment, his son was suddenly not there
He ran to find his wife for surely she would know
Why the house was empty and where did his only son go
She sat him down and asked him if he remembered in each book
The adventures and the journeys that he and his son had took
All the hopes and dreams that only you can find
The memories that are yours to see if you open up your mind
He still walks beside you in the stories you have read
You're not left to go alone, he’s simply gone on ahead
The old man went and chose a book and sat back in his chair
And opening up the cover whispered, “Son, are you there?”
Gulp. Thank you.
the sound of nostalgia...no matter the culture you're in...you're gonna feel deep nostalgia

I love this song. It always reminds me of returning home from my studies to my hometown.

I'm living in other country, I'm far away from my loved ones, far away from my safe place 😢
But every time I listen to this beautiful song, it becomes more bearable to be so far away from what I love the most.
This song instantly gives me a nostalgic bad feeling but at the same time gives me happiness and hope for the future I can't understand lol
Enfim, a vibe
One day I will return home. For too many years I have lived in foreign lands. The longer I live abroad the more I realize who I am and where I come from and where my home is. No money or job is worth it, as the craziness and longing for adventure is long past I will contemplate returning to my roots and enjoy the rest of my life.
This is the song I'm gonna play when I'm about to die and remember my complete life...thinking of the adventures, my family, friends and opportunities I got in my life.

One of the verses sums up the vibe of this song nicely:
"Heal the scars from off my back,
I don't need them anymore.
You can throw them out or keep them in your jars.
I've come home"
Despite all the troubles the world may rest on our weary souls, there will come a time where we can look back at our journey, and through our wisdom, follow the path back to where it all began, where peace and harmony still roam, within the walls where we lived our golden days.
It's a very healing song. I think that's why most find it nostalgic and emotional. I cherish this masterpiece.
