Jason, re. The darksworn boards (I don't have crimson seas, so can't speak of that one), you can gently push the folds slightly beyond fully open (180 degree angle), then the boards will lie flat. It's easy and it works so well!
Do both of the expansions you combined add card that take more resources? Would you reccoomend one over the other? Looking to maybe get just one expansion and would be fine with just more stuff but higher cost thjngs would be nice to have bigger goals.

I would recommend darksworn and at least one smaller xpac.
