The HRE path is a nice roleplay thing, but when you have conquered everything you need to form the HRE you are already strong enough to defeat everyone without needing the new cores.
@UnOrigin as far as I remember, to take "reinstate titles" decision you *need* to do An Alliance With the Shade
That way is the only way to get Victoria

I can just imagine this guy, who doesn't actually seem that bad at the game, just wanting to have a fun German Monarchy game when, by some miracle of Non-Historical, France and Italy go communist and all his neighbours join the comintern. Judging from the game start, btw, he did manage to conquer Czechoslovakia against the odds.
France almost always goes communist when you take the imperial germany path due to the expatriate the communists focus, it gives france a national spirit that gives them communist influence for over 1000 days. No idea how italy went commie though as their focus tree doesnt allow it afaik. Must have lost a war against france when they pressed claims on yugo
@horriblepancake i was doing a run a few weeks ago on non-historical where I, as the Ottomans, reformed the Central Powers. Poland went Fascist, and everyone else either went Communist, or joined the European Pact. Not fun.
Honestly, those games I play where I try to fight a simple war and the whole world joins the allies instantly. Italy gets ganked by the allies early somehow and is flipped to democracy, Japan civil wars to democracy, Russia is too stupid to be a nation to fight the allies or even Poland, and I’m sitting there as some nation like Greece or Bulgaria crying because the world hates me

In hindsight, I realise he chose Alliance with the Shade to get Victoria/a shot at the HRE...My bad! It's not as stupid as i believed. It has been many moons since I played German Empire!

Savefile-sender here! Yes, alliance with the shade for the HRE, and consequent mild "build-up" of subs as the result.
I managed to save the campaign myself by saving roughly a month's worth of fuel for the tanks and pushing through the belgium and luxembourg (the wars were being justified at the beginning of the save), and knock the french out and open western alpine front with the italians. Not inviting the austrians allowed me to hold half of the soviet armada with a single army and 400 planes over Czechia, and after that, and stabilizing fuel and manpower the game was back on track. Overall, focused first on the west, and only then diverted attention to the east.
Why didn't you eat the Austrians?
@@sld1776 without them, eastern and southern front was basically 2 tiles, so its easy defensive position
Frankly, this isn't really a disaster save. Your equipment isn't in terrible shape, you have strong division templates, you have decent industry, your borders are secure, I don't see how this is a disaster.
Europe is arrayed against you, manpower is critical at the start, the southern front is about to break wide open with Hungary.
But mostly, it was just an interesting game

You have to since if you don't you will get Wilhelm III instead as you can see he had completed that branch of the focus. However I assume he get kicked out of the Allies for generating too much world tension.

They went down that part of the tree because you need it to form HRE
This seems like a disaster that wasn’t really a disaster, but more of a “oh, I’m at war with EVERYONE. Sound the alarms!”

I found a way to "fix" the fallback line not registering a tile: Have as much fallback line inside that tile as possible before moving the fallback line to another tile. Like in your example, make the fallback line in Hungary follow the river as closely as possible before going to another tile.
It's kinda hard to explain, so sorry if my explanation is not that good, i'll try to rephrase it in the comments if you want me to.

it works in most cases, but i encountered a few of them that cant be fixed like that. in that case i just split them

I feel like a challenge for BitterSteel to score some big Hoi4 achievement while playing with Russian settings is like a walk in the park compared to this one or any other superhard Disaster Save that he had previously. I don't know, it's just me.
I so love Victoria plays... Don't know what it is... capable woman in uniform with a Totenkopf hat/helmet... Just love every last bit of it :D.

if you draw the line around the very edges of each individual province, it works much better. watching you draw the same line each time drove me insane.

for fallbacks I find it's helpful for annoying tiles to draw it slightly into the next provence so it stays there.
I have a small suggestion. Select a country you want to play, and choose a path for it to play as. I think it will be a great addition to the already great content of yours

Im not sure if you know this, but at times when you are attacked constantly, you can "counterattack" by not clicking on the province you are being attacked from but one that is one tile "behind it" (as if "driving through" the province you want to attack).... im not sure how it works, as it doesnt always... but like 95% of the time the attack starts with some divisions (they get multiple combat malus of course) but the defense may bug at times... due to my english I can't explain it better, try it out :P
You can use fallback lines the way you want, you just have to trace almost the edge of the province on the side of your frontline
I dont know if you'll see this or not, but if the ai is constantly cycle charging a tile, get your units and give them a move order behind the attackers, it should move them through the attacking tile and begin an offensive. Atleast, it works for me.

Not a criticism, because I know there's a reason. I never see you make use of special forces. I realize in most situations they don't make a difference, but in the situation above, you have 500 army xp, and deleted the Austrian mountaineers. I make parallel templates for mountaineer and marines and max their number so I can tailor my armies' advantage to the situation. Crossing rivers and half the army will be Marines. Crossing mountains, and at least 6 divs are mountaineer. Makes a difference to me. Love the content! Cheers!

After edit: I'm not talking about a disaster save (there is one about Belgium) but one where Belgium not only survives the second world war, but actually thrives and becomes a serious power.

yeah for line also you need to go with your line behind the blue ball that you have on provinces
plus you can attack at same time of being attack you have to right click on a empty province behind the province you want to attack

That would probably be DLC, No step back for tanks and Man the guns for ships. By blood alone for airplanes

you only get best waifu when you trade it with the devil, aka britain. so an alliance with the shade is an acceptable trade-off.

Considering you hit a game breaking big related to raising your war support, you are justified to game other broken mechanics to get that war support. Assign a pride of fleet that never leaves port. Break out your fighters to 1 plane units, spam aces and move them off to a single unused unit so they don’t get killed. This is pure cheese but hey, if you could do it correctly you would.
A pride of the fleet that you wont allow ti see combat? Sounds pretty much like IJN Nagato or IJN Yamato IRL
Did the UK kick you from the faction? Not sure why you (or the savefile sender) would leave the allies when you really needed all the help you could get

Why do people say he went that path to get the Kaiserin? Iirc there is the event with the hindenburg. Preventet -> dont get the king from the Netherlands -> get a good relation with the brittish -> Decision to reinstate.
Why the focus tree? Or did things change over the years I havent played?
You only get the decision to reinstate the titles if you do the alliance with the shade focus, otherwise they straight up won't be there and iirc it is actually nearly impossible to get 100 relations without the faction member modifier boost
