Can this product be applied without the chips? I want an all white clean garage floor. Since it's white will I see yellowing over time?

Thanks for the comment!! Poly Armour can be applied as a solid color without any chips. But there are a few downsides to doing it that way, and the chips just make things a lot easier. Some of this would depend on what kind of shape the current floor is in. If it's older and in rough shape, the chips tend to hide most of the imperfections, and you can make it look new again without much effort. If the floor is newer or still in good shape, this wouldn't be as big of a deal. The chips also make the installation easier because the texture they leave behind hides roller marks and inconsistencies. The smoother the floor is, the header it'll be to hide flaws from the installation as well as scratches and wear & tear from use. All that being said, there is certainly nothing wrong with solid color floors, and they are a popular option. We just like to make sure everyone understands the downsides before they make the investment. As far as the yellowing is concerned, Poly Armour is UV stable, so you won't need to worry about that. The white color, on the other hand can be a challenge to keep looking pristine, especially for a garage floor. This would somewhat depend on how you plan to use the floor. Sorry for the long-winded reply, lol. Thanks for checking out our channel & please let us know if you have any other questions about your project.

@@DecoCreteTV The floor is new construction and is flawless, they did a great job. Sounds like the chips hide poor performing coatings and poor installation.

@sigma9102 Wrong. Most primers are epoxy based. Epoxy yellows over time. There are products out there that might give you what youre looking for. But its a really stupid thing to do. Youll never be able to keep it clean. Professionally, I've done it before. Only to have customers call back within a year to change the color. The chip system helps bind the epoxy primer to the topcoat. It creates a very durable coating. A solid color with no chip won't be as durable.

What square footage this kit covers?

The color base kit that we chipped into covers around 200 sq/ft per gal (400 sq/ft per kit). The chips cover 200-250 sq/ft per 40lb box. The clear topcoat covers 150-175 sq/ft per gal (300-350 sq/ft per kit) Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV!!!!
