That is a dog getting too excited for a walk? You should see my dog! As soon as she sees me getting dressed to go on a walk, she will start barking so loud that she starts hurting everyones ears around her. Even our other dog will start howling cuz she's making him nervous. I think twice about taking her early in the morning, because she will wake up the whole household. And yes, this energy continues throughout the walk. I am going to try this training. Wish me luck.
Thank you for uploading this. My little dog, bless his heart, just gets way too excited to go places and it makes the process a nightmare. Disassociating that excitement seems like it should help if I can get the rest of the household on board.
My late husband used to walk our pitbull and he was ok. But now, I wanna continue to walk him, but whenever I put the leash out, he got so excited. And, I cannot bring him to walk his gonna drag me out of the door because he know we are going out. I cannot control him and im worried because he is heavy (85lbs). One day I tried to put his leash on and pulled him, he suddenly ran towards the door and I thought I lost my arm and at the same time I lost my mind. My arm was sore after that ordeal. Ill try this and see if it works for both of us. Thank you for sharing this video.
(my english is a little rusty) I have two dogs, Mel and Suzy , when I pick up the leash, Mel immediately comes calmily an can put the leash in her, Susy seems to be afraid of the situation, it is hard to put the leash on her because she tryes to scape, I dont know why, but when I finally put the leash on Susy, both just went crazy! When I go out from the street door, I cant even lock the house cus both is barking, pulling and jumping is a chaos, there is a way to work with both at the same time? to stop it?
Nigel Reed has an awesome video on walking 2 chocolate Labs. Yes, you start with one first then the second one, then put them together. The one scene says 32 pulls later... when you put in the work up front, gets so much easier. McCann and instructor Carol have a video of a field Spaniel named Cheerio with an empty dish across the room. They keep doing about turns until they can get to the dish without pulling. The dish represents anything the dog wants. After an empty dish, add a few pieces of kibble, then up the ante to a higher level treat. Add distractions, etc, but ping pong it so that you're not always making it more difficult. Sometimes you go back to an empty dish. I have 3 dogs and I like to give them each their own walk. Gets them some one on one time with you and away from their other canine buddy. I realize that is not always possible though. Susan Garrett has a free mini series doggyflix this weekend, too. Hope that helps.
@@dssng metal leash or some dogs like to occupy their mouths so a soft toy they can carry with them. Sometimes 2 leashes - one for the dog to carry while you have the real one. Competitive people use the leash tug as a reward, so they give permission for when it's time to do that. Check out Susan Garrett's the power of permission. Hope that helps.
Man. I'd pay actual cash if my dogs would act like that! That is tame and calm compred to my horde! But then again I have 11 and they feed off of each other. Lol

Did it actually work 😩🙏🏼??
So...any updates on how it went, it's been a year now
How do you train two Labs at the same time? ha They are jumping all over the place and playing on each others excitement.

Mi dog is all chill until I let her through the door. Then is absolute chaos
Well done! Wow! Max learns very fast!!!
for me, it's when I walk one at a time, the other goes BONKERS and sounds like he's being attacked.
Awesome I'm gonna try on my yorkshire. Thank you for the video, awesome channel. Subscribed 👍
Seems to be a Yorky thing I see my sisters is the same way actually pulls the leash
This helped me so much, thank you
“Preparation...H” 😂😂😂
Great advice!
what do you do if the dog does sit on his own by the door but he's still crying? do you still walk away and do it again?

Does that leader rule apply when walking your dog too, or just when preparing for a walk? Should our dog walk next to us instead of in front of us?
He’s supposed to be beside you yes.

Hi, I have the problem when we heading home. He gets so exited. Do you have any suggestion for that?

Yes but it will be way more difficult. I recommend watching Cesar Millan on how to calm down over excited dogs.

What if you have 2 dogs? That are not behaved , you do this separately or together
works well :)
My dog SCREAMS bc she’s so excited but she’s also a dachshund so idk how much I can fix it lol
i'm here because of my dog max too! lol
Omg that was so calm compared to my dog. My dog gets 1,000 times more excited.
Dog is mild compared to my dogs… and i got 3 😂
My dog barks at me to go for a walk if he gets impatient so if i sat down he would deffo have a tantrum
facing the same issue here!
My dog also tends to go ham and bite on the leash once its attached. Any advice?
@@dssng have you tried a chain lead? They won’t bite it then

I don't understand why we are dragging what should be a 2 minute video into a 10 minute video
