There’s actually a fun reason behind this. Different styles throughout time age with the generation that first used them. People who wore perms back in the 70’s and 80’s just kept wearing that same hairstyle and as they grow older we start to associate that hair style with that age and vice versa. Same thing with clothing styles. Once people find the style that they like they tend to stick with it throughout the rest of their life
After FDU won, you knew coach had to be immaculate at his job. He apparently saw something nobody else did, and knew his team could take advantage.

That Johnny juzang team was my favorite college basketball team of my lifetime as not a huge college basketball guy, I had seen a few of their games that year and followed them through the tourney, Jaime and Johnny are hella likable

I feel like this is the fate for Power 6 teams that make these runs. Nobody talks about 2015/16 Syracuse or 2021/22 Miami either, and I feel the same would've probably been the case with UCLA in 2022 if they didn't have that memorable game vs Gonzaga. I guess these schools have enough of a name brand that makes their runs seem less shocking in hindsight

I was in Indianapolis when Oregon State lost to Houston. When they came back and tied it up, I was genuinely shocked, but as it went Houston pulled away, and I was unable to see the first 12 seed go to the F4, but it was still exhilarating

Duke over Houston potentially. I think it could be a poor matchup for Houston but I’m diving more into the numbers now.
SDSU has a grim chance vs UConn. Arizona easily over Clemson. Although Clemson has surprised me time and time again. Just my initial thoughts that could absolutely change

Believe it or not, Purdue, after losing to FDU, is in the Final Four this year. They have a shot to do what Virginia did and win it all after losing to a 16 seed, but it probably won’t happen cause they’ll have to go through a dominating UConn team that may repeat.

This was a great video. I love March madness. I don’t think a 16 will ever make a sweet sixteen, but I could definitely be wrong. You have to think, technically a 1 seed has the easiest road through the tournament, so if a 16 beats them, it should have easier rounds of 32 and sweet 16. I just don’t see it happening.
It will happen eventually, but I wouldn't bet on it in the next 10 years
I think Fairleigh Dickinson gave some hope that it could happen since they did win from the First Four and then pulled off the opening round shocker. All it takes is the right matchups and it will happen. Heck even both 16-9 matchups we’ve had so far have been close games so that further gives hope that it will happen eventually.
Yeah it’s gonna be decades probably. But eventually, given enough time, I think it will!

I want to fucking kill myself as a Kentucky fan, but as a catholic, rooting for St. Peter’s was fun. On another note, in 2018 my mom had me and my brothers fill out our brackets, and she told us (it was one of my first brackets, I was 9) to pick upsets and it will be fun, so I puck UMBC over Virginia, and my mom told me that a one seed has never lost in the first round, so I shouldn’t pick that, and after a while she convinced me to not pick UMBC, and every year, during march madness this conversation always finds a way to come up.

Now imagine Oakland goes on a run to become the first 14 seed to advance to the Elite Eight. Heck only two of them ever made a Sweet 16 with Cleveland State (1986) and Chattanooga (1997) but this Oakland team could easily be the third with them facing NC State. Assuming Oakland wins they could face Florida, Colorado, Marquette, or Western Kentucky which even if they faced Marquette I’d still give them a good chance to win that game. As a Florida fan I wouldn’t want to face them, that’s for sure.
