- Get ready to meet the coolest giant robot ever to come out of Japan! Already the subject of a brand new, hit animated series, Tetsujin 28 has now been vividly brought to life in the spectacular live-action feature film, TETSUJIN 28 THE MOVIE, soon to be released on DVD by Manga Entertainment.
A colourful, action-packed updating of the legendary post-war Manga character created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama, TETSUJIN 28 THE MOVIE is a comic-book come to life, a heavily-stylised visual blast that is as likely to appeal to cult-savvy adults as it is to its intended youthful audience.
When a giant flying robot known as the Black Ox appears in downtown Tokyo wreaking chaos and destruction, even the combined might of the police force proves to be no match for its awesome power. Responsible for the robot's attack is a deranged terrorist, driven mad by the death of his young son, and intent on avenging his loss by first destroying Tokyo and then all human life, leaving the world to be run by a new race of bio-mechanoids.
Tokyo's only hope of a saviour comes in the unlikely form of a timid 12-year-old boy named Shotaro Kaneda. During one of Black Ox's devastating attacks on the city, young Shotaro receives a mysterious phone call from an elderly man who reveals a long-guarded secret. Before he died, Shotaro's father had developed and perfected the only machine with the strength to defeat Black Ox... another giant robot -- Tetsujin 28. After being left to rust in an underground laboratory for so many years, the time has come for the mighty "mecha" to be restored, upgraded and revived. And only one special boy is capable of controlling it. As the entire city holds its breath, together Shotaro and Tetsujin 28 must go head-to-head against Black Ox in a robotic showdown in which the fate of the entire planet is at stake.
Based on the best-selling post-war Manga series by Mitsuteru Yokoyama, the original Tetsujin 28 was responsible for sparking the "mecha" or "giant robot" craze that eventually spawned the likes of Transformers and Robotech. Now, TETSUJIN 28 THE MOVIE brings the whole "mecha" genre full circle, once again placing the biggest and the best ever battling robot back on top.
It must be fun growing up as a kid in Japan
2:21 - "Gi-gan-tooor...! Gi-gan-tooor...! Gi-gaaaaa-AA-an-tooooor...!"
"Gigantor, the great-big ro-bot! He's at... your command!" ;)
The CGI isn't bad. I'd say it's just okay. At least the movements flow well.
2:40 ROCK EM SOCK EM ROBOTS💪🤖👍🥊🥊
Gigantor, Gigantor, Gi-gaaaantor.
Sailordude2012 🎶🎶 Gigantor is the space age robot is at your command. Gigantor the space age robot the power is in your hands. Gigantor is the space age robot is at your command. Gigantor is the space age robot the power is in your hands.
He's bigger than big (BIG !), taller than tall (TALL !), quicker than quick (QUICK !), stronger than strong (STRONG !). Fighting for the right against wrong
Gigantor the space age ro-bot
Gigantor the space age robot!
He's at..your command
Gigantor the space age robot!
His power is in your hands!
"Gigantor, the great-big ro-bot! He's at... your command!" ;)
At first I thought "Don't worry, it's unarmed."
Then...
Rock'em Sock'em Robots!
Gigantor awesome
"Gi-gan-tooor...! Gi-gan-tooor...! Gi-gaaaaa-AA-an-tooooor...!"
Early VR control interface!
2:44 Did he actually feel that?
The more I watch this the more I realize what a good movie Pacific Rim was.
I don't understand why Japan's cartoons are better than their movies. This is so bad that i wonder if it is on purpose.
sweet, it's Gigantor!
Voltron would kick both their asses at the same time.
Don Borracho Voltron is a megazord lol Tetsujin Has Better Fighting strength XD
I want a soundtrack of this movie.
Not a Bad CGI but still feels like a 90s CGI like Terminator 2 with T-1000.
It's gigantor
"Gi-gan-tooor...! Gi-gan-tooor...! Gi-gaaaaa-AA-an-tooooor...!"
"Gigantor, the great-big ro-bot! He's at... your command!" ;)
Quiero ver esa películaaaaa!!!
Swear the small robot was punching the tall one in the nads.
Oh, I see how Tekken got their Mokujin
I like the animated Tetsujin. But this live action is even cheesier than G Savior

why child get hit if the robot is remote-controlled?
honestly the more you watch the least bothered you become of the cgi....
That's ruin my childhood 😡😠
WTF
yeah unfortunately this movie isn't that good.
ALL BECOME ZERO
Ke cagata
正太郎のゴーグルに鉄人の視界が投影されているようだけど、距離感が掴めないようだから操縦しにくそうだね。f(^_^;
As cheesy as it gets folks
I own the DVD. Movie SUCKS!!!
This is soooo boring. No wonder it didn't do well. Fight scenes are kind of lack-luster. No thrills. Baby punches...really. At least Johnny Sako and his Giant Flying Robot whom this series is based on got down.
