Stood the test of time as an amazing slow funk tune
1974's "THRUST" is perhaps one of the greatest 'fusion' albums of all time. "Actual Proof" is still the funkiest piece of music I've ever heard. Herbie's Rhodes solo on the album's original recording of this track- "Butterfly" is one of the most beautifully voiced, magical solos ever.
Dave Edwards I'll second that!
💯 You just took the words out of my mouth. Both BUTTERFLY & ACTUAL PROOF are exactly top favorites on the album
Yeah, I always told people that Butterfly on Thrust is one of the best tracks of that era, or any era. Masterpiece
Man Child though...
R.I.P Paul Jackson
Clarke and Jackson. Should be mandatory study for any aspiring musician. They are the gold standard

Although they didn't play the channe l and cut it short it's still very cosmic and serene!

Lee Rienour did a great version on his Earthrun album.
Music? That’s Magic!
Herbie has made an enormous contribution to the jazz repertoire throughout his life but this era late 60’s early 70’s is by far my favourite JS

Love it! Lovely tones from Bennie Maupin. Incidentally Gretchen Parlato does a fabulous interpretation of it!
Seek and ye shall find AND ye shall be recommended what you never imagined existed.
