The poaching idea in the strainer, that’s very smart, but then I wouldn’t expect anything less from this wonderful gentleman!

    • @edwilderness
      @edwilderness 3 місяці тому

You can also start with the egg in the strainer before putting it into the water.
This way the runny part of the egg white is removed and the water is less messy.

Hi , Well I didn't know that , Not even after working for eight years with one of the most sought after chefs in the country who catered for the local Aristocracy in a gorgeous Manor House in the Wylie Valley.
His Corvette de Mer and Salmon En Croute were unbeatable. I always peel off the first and sometimes second layer of my onions cos they are so tough. Thanks for your comment xx

They're not always tough, it depends on the onion and indeed on how you're cooking it. Generally speaking you'd discard the first layer. I've cooked for royalty. One of the most memorable times was in San Francisco. Doesn't say much for the UK monarch but it was a good time,

No more going through a container looking for matching pairs or earring backs! Keep singletons in their own cubicle. It saves lots of time searching in vain for nonexistent pairs or the right back.

The only thing to be cautious of with the sharpener is that it is visibly 45°. Not all knives should be sharpened at that angle. This is 22.5° on each side. Many knives are better sharpened to 20° or even 15°. Still a great, inexpensive hack!

@@Royalty12345 Hi Jennifer, it worked a treat, only problem was I usually have two poached eggs and only have one seive in the draw, so breakfast took a bit longer than usual. Best thing was there was no water residue to mush my toast and I could place the egg on the toast straight from the pot. Eggs are so damn expensive here now, just over $1.00 for a size 7 egg, so one is probably the financially viable option for the future. Best wishes from across the Tasman.

I use to freeze the tomato paste too been doing it for years, but I use zip lock bags and flatten them
But I make my own tomato paste which doesn’t rot.
I defrost the chicken in plain hot water they don’t take long and if I know what I’m going to prepare for the next day I just keep it out the freezer for the next day.
I just peel the onions under the water I’m very quick in peeling
I put a 3 charcoal in the fridge
And for the microwave I just put water in the cup for 1 minute in the microwave then swipe clean with a kitchen towel
I use the bottom of a coffee cup to sharpen my knife
Because I buy in bulk and use different cheese I freeze my cheese, my cold meats in portions, and I also freeze my butter and home made broth you can also freeze garlic it might look a little unpleasant after a while being in the freezer for a while but it still white inside and might look dry but the taste is there for cooking and if you make garlic paste or dip it looks and taste the same as fresh.
Just another tip on garlic if you’re sick of peeling garlic soak them in very hot water for half hour or more and the peel just glides off and you’ll find most of the peels in the garlic come off, they won’t go green when you cook or making a paste they remain white.
    Really enjoy your videos
Thanks for the time and effort you put out there

It's great to hear that you have your own methods for freezing tomato paste, defrosting chicken, peeling onions, and using coals in the refrigerator.❤

Add a small amount of alcohol, such as vodka, or a decent quality whiskey, two of the Nutella and cream mix, and maybe a touch of sweetener of your choice, and it will enable you to enjoy a treat with a better consistency, a bit creamier like actual ice cream.
