It’s confirmed Majima’s Thug style is based on Hapkido with dirty techniques. But let’s be real… martial arts for self-defense or combat are always dirty.
Yeh, fighting with proper technique only works in a martial arts competition. If you get in a scrape on the street, not playing dirty will get you killed
@@TheSaxAppeal Well martial arts techniques are made for fighting dirty. You’re thinking about sports competitions versus martial arts which are made specifically for real life fighting. Proper techniques can work in a real fight regardless if it’s on the streets or if it’s in a war zone. Because it’s worked for centuries and in different cultures. Japanese JuJutsu was made for warfare. The techniques and execution was always properly done in battle. They even do reenactments with realistic combat simulation to show what it actually looked like in real battle.
Ikr it must’ve been nostalgic for Majima, to see his sworn brother wear a jacket so similar to Wen Hai Lee. Someone so tied to the darkest days of his life.
I think the best part about Majima is how human he is. He has to be that way to hold true to his morals(with the help of Kiwami). He knowingly and intentionally gets his ass kicked and almost killed because he knew Kiryu was always doing the right thing by "sacrificing" his humanity. How many times did he get wrecked and then laughed about it and told him good job? My guess is Shimano was barking orders at Majima and he intentionally fucked up.
Everything from your sense of humor to the tattoo symbolism cutaways to your cute little intro is fantastic. Here's a sub. Can't wait for part 3. No rush, though.
Thank you for both your kind words and the sub! We seriously appreciate them both, and don't worry: we're too obsessed with with sending internal Majima gifs to each other to leave this one alone for too long!
He's absolutely not going in depth. Nothing really relevant or profoundly human in this "analysis". There's so much to say about the nature of this character, his feelings, his awareness of himself and his surroundings. But those videos are just flat retracing of the events of the game.
youtube recommends has sent quite a few of these majima charater studies my way and i have to say yours and himinotebook are the only ones that actually have a clue about the character, its clear a lot of research went into your videos and i really appreciate that and enjoyed them :D
If I remember correctly, the cult in majima’s side story is an actual cult. Furthermore, they have also committed an act of terrorism in Japan. I forgot the names of the cult and the attack, but the attack did involve putting some sort of harmful gas in a subway systems air ventilation.
Love to see the appreciation to finer details in the character and what surrounds him. If any character from this series needs it, it's Majima; and everyone loves to see some great Majima content, right? Nice job with these videos man, keep it up.
Glad to hear you liked our stuff, thank you for watching it! And I'll be sure to relay your kind words to our VO guy, who also wrote this video series as well!
Still wish there was an alternate cutscene for finishing the first Nishitani fight with the Legend Style. (Because, I mean, with that, it makes them BOTH knife-wielding maniacs, right?)
Ugh, there's so many Yakuza characters that need their own games. Our producer wont shut up about a Kazama post ww2 origin story, and giving Majima a solo game
@@TheGenezi7 Awesome! Hallo from the US and we're glad that you like our stuff enough to look forward to more! That really means a lot to us, so thank you again!

And that’s how we know you know nothing about martial arts
I love how lee looks earily similar to saejima. Both played a big part for majimas development

Me watching this a year later: 😶🌫️
So far this series is an amazing in depth character analysis! This needs to blow up it’s so good !!! I can’t wait for more
Happy to hear you like it, and thanks so much for your kind words!

"A Truck wearing human skin"
More like a God amongst men
Eh, tomato tomato hahaha.

Thanks for your kind words! Glad you liked the video, and we'll have to take a look at himinotebook and see how they do it for comparison, haha.
4:44 Margima i can't believe it's not butter.
Can't wait to see the next part. You cover Majima so well
Thank you for the kind words, we're glad you enjoy our Majicontent! Contentjima...? Something like that.

Yea
They also hanged and decapitated the leader.
In Modern Japan.
Jesus christ the government was savage for that

Only the best for Majima at all times, that's our motto! Thank you so much for your kind words, really glad you like our stuff!
Just gonna say, bravo to the artists with the tattoo designs. Lee’s tattoos might be my favourite.
Agreed, the tattoos are awesome looking!
I fought Nishitani in the Mad Dog style it was so much fun it was like we had the same moves it was like fighting Majima
Omg! This is sooo great. Like the way you speak, nice voice and investigation about tattoos and stuff, want yo see more!

4:22 HOLY SHIT WAIT this mirrors a massive scene in the later games
i love the implication that Majima actually killed Nishiki's sister because of the bubble popping and Nishiki losing all his money
They shoulda made an Yakuza game with Sera as a playable protagonist as well.
Ugh, there's so many Yakuza characters that need their own games. Our producer wont shut up about a Kazama post ww2 origin story, and giving Majima a solo game
@@ExpUp Yes. I would pay for that.
@@ExpUp i'd love to see a Kazama spinoff where he maybe uses some techniques that inspired Kiryu's self taught brawler style
6:22 *chokes on coffee* The Obatarian?!?!?!
Ha, don't choke before checking her stats. She is no joke, at least in that part.
@@ExpUp Lol yeah, I can imagine. Her persuasion skills are unreal.
Very nice, I like!
Banger content
Thanks you!!
That's rad. Have a sub
Thanks! We attempted to reply with a Yakuza gif, but...turns out we we cant. Picture Kiryu giving a thumbs up, if you would be so kind.

9:22 wair why do they have the same jacket
I don't know if I should count this as a spoiler but if you're playing kuwami 2 don't forget about makuto
i wonder if nishitani played some part in influencing majima to put on his whole crazy and loony facade he puts on
Eyo Kiryu Chan
This evoked a want for you to Cover Dynasty Warriors characters!!!
Haha, we'll see what we can do!
cool, but it's becoming less of an analysis and more of a story summary
Dope
Thanks! Glad you like it!
mazoosh
What happened to the mad dog style explanation???
Isn’t Majima taller than Kiryu?
Yup he is
