      No, I haven't, not even before with my natural nails...since I've been doing the acrylic enhancements I don't really have to do anything special , I have a nail tech do my new sets and fills but I do make sure to use a little cuticle oil everyday.

    Very helpful tips and tricks, thank you for sharing. Instead of using OPI bond aid, Can we use layer of strengthening gel for better top coat adhesion?

      You can, I just don't like the added bulk, the dehydrator has worked flawlessly, for me at least :D.

      Teresa Brinkman I was thinking the same because I have the ph bond from gelish, so I went to check the ingredients, and I guess the difference are the ingredients the bond id has ethyl acetate, water and ammonium hydroxide, and the ph bond from gelish has Isopropyl alcohol, ethyl acetate Isobutyl acetate, So Im assuming that the one from gelish wont work because it has alcohol on it, so Im running to the store to get it since my powder should be shipping any time soon!! 😃

    Hi I'm sorry I write in this one... I just see that you use a lot of Moyra products which gave me a list of products I wanna buy. I'm a bit surprised to find out that all products are UV Only cured and I own lots of LED lamps that are supposed to be dual uv and LED. I wanted to ask how you do it because uv lamps are almost extinguished... Thank you very much you are always so helpful.

    Love your videos. I do have a question.. Do you remove the sticky layer before you apply pigment?

    • @BajaRosie
      @BajaRosie 7 років тому +1

      In all kim's pigment videos you see her using the no wipe top coat from akentz and In this video at 2:29 and multiply times thru out the video she says that she uses a no wipe top coat specifically the one from akentz which gives her consistent full proof results. with a no wipe top coat there is no sticky layer to remove!

    • @ceb2737
      @ceb2737 7 років тому

      Baja Rosie I understand the top coat is no wipe but my question is the color that she uses before the pigment. Such as the purple.

    • @BajaRosie
      @BajaRosie 7 років тому

      the color is applied onto the no wipe top coat so whether you remove the sticky layer or not doesn't matter, you do your gel manicure as normal, so once you apply the color gel you apply your top coat and then pigment, So NO you do not remove the sticky layer.

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 років тому +2

      Hi Carrie, glad you like the videos! With this particular purple, I did not remove the sticky before applying the no-wipe...I do have to remove the sticky on my Gelaze gels because the sticky causes the Akzentz to separate for some reason, but removing it has never affected the wear.

    have you tried this with IBD intense seal? i notice you use ibd gel polish but haven't seen u use the intense seal, i find i get absolutely no chipping or pulling away with IBD intense seal, perhaps im assuming it isn't shiny enough for you? great video thanks for sharing!!

    • @tenlittlecanvases

      I just recently picked up the Intense Seal but have not tried with the chromes yet. When I do I'll pass on my experience with it 😀.

  • @bbysenii
    @bbysenii 7 років тому

    Are you using just a gel colored nail polish before applying pigment then using no wipe? Or use the no wipe top coat then the nail color and apply the chrome and another no wipe coat

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 років тому

      I do the gel polish color, cure, no-wipe top coat, cure, apply pigment, no-wipe top coat, cure and apply a 2nd coat of top.

    Hi Kim, How are you? I need one guidance with Mirror chrome pigment application. I
    am using BPS silver mirror chrome pigment. With Dance legend no wipe to
    coat. when i rub the pigment over cured gel top coat, it gives very
    smooth and nice mirror finish. But when i apply gel top coat over pigment layer, the effect changes a bit and starts to look either
    glittery or grainy. Can you advice what mistake i did?
    Any tips to apply top coat over mirror pigment so that the mirror finish does not ruin?

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 років тому +1

      I don't have the BP chrome or the dance legend topcoat so I can't attest to what the best application would be for those products. You might try floating the top coat (barely touching the brush to the nail) and curing each nail separately may help, leaving any top coat sitting on the nail too long before curing can cause the pigment to detach from the surface and float up into the topcoat making it look sparkly.

    @salliannedorrill408 7 років тому

    Hi have purchased this product and all the extra you use,but when I put the OPI bonder on it took the pigment off.Why has this happened do you think?Thank you xx💅🏻

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 років тому

      Are you using Luminaura and Akzentz? Are you using a silicone tool to burnish the pigment? Does your OPI Bond Aid have Water as one of the ingredients? Are you applying the Bond Aid with feather light stokes? I've never had the pigment lift so not sure what the problem could be.

    What is that other pigment pot (opal pigment) you compared it to? Do you have a link to that product? I'm curious how this finer powder pigment compares to the Luminaura!

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  6 років тому

      Here is the demo video for the Opal pigments: ua-cam.com/video/fdrs71f4oWw/v-deo.html . Link to product is in the info section of that video. Luminaura is a metallic crystal AB effect and Opal is a pearl/nacre glassy finish...both are equally awesome finishes but they are different. Luminaura Angel is the finer micron version of Luminaura Aurora.

    what did u use to get the pigment to adhere to the nail

  • @heatherwelberry1
    @heatherwelberry1 7 років тому +2

    my question is... if akzentz is the best no wipe top coat out there to use.. how can the rest of us get our hands oon some. There distribution is very limited and only to licensed pros even if there was someone in my area selling it.. which there isn't in central Indiana. Is there something out there comparable that us lay folks can actually get our hands on that works as well or are we stuck never being able to achieve perfection because we can't own the thing that's most important to have ??

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 років тому +1

      I'm not saying Akzentz is the best no-wipe, in relation to ALL no-wipe's....I'm just passing on my personal experiences with the Akzentz and pigments and in my experience over the past couple of years, the Akzentz has given the most constistant, trouble -free results with any pigment I have used. Of course there are other no-wipes, I have used only 2 others, Luxa and Crystal Nails and while both are nice but I still prefer Akzentz. Other people have their own preferred no-wipes and thats fine...the point is, if you are not getting the same results I am because you are using a different brand, then try the Akzentz. Pigments can be tricky and there are a lot of variables that can make a difference.
      As for the availability, the link I provide will sell to non-pros, such as myself....you will need to create an account to purchase. Another seller is Gellipop...they have a pop-up that says that all their products are intended for professional use but you can still buy it, they do not require a license.

      Ten Little Canvases thank you so much for the help ! I wasn't getting anywhere trying to buy that top coat so this will help. I have not gotten the exact same smooth results you have so I would like to try that top coat so this will help. I've tried several and the results are varied and broad but I'll try the akzentz you recommend and see if that helps. Thank you again !

    • @NailsbyLizBuckland
      @NailsbyLizBuckland 7 років тому

      Heather Welberry have you been able to get a hold of akzentz then or no? because even though it may or may not be the best, but, if it's one of the best experiences ten little has then it's what we would surely like for sure hence the question remains.

    Can u use the pigment over acrylic colors???

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 років тому

      The pigment requires a smooth no-wipe topcoat, so as long as you top the acrylic with a no-wipe it will work.

      So I actually tried this myself last night and it did not work. I checked the ingredients and PH bond has alcohol in it where it appears that bond aid does not. both work great for their original purpose, of dehydrating the natural nail though haha :P
