This is another well-known Reddit story that has been posted across multiple platforms that didn’t end well for this family. OP’s more recent comments divulge that his cheating wife ended up unaliving herself. She took the coward’s way out, leaving behind her already devastated betrayed husband and daughters. Her actions have destroyed her entire family. They’ll all need intensive therapy for many years in order to overcome the trauma of that woman’s selfish choices.
Fact that OP updated that wife killed herself confirms to me that Wife was far more terrified of ending up alone than of being stuck in a marriage and family where everyone despised her.
This story is incomplete. OP actually provided an update afterwards. Wife ended up unaliving herself.
You can't just 'apologize' away a four year affair. Hope he's successful in divorcing her and gets custody of the kids!
Every person that says you should reconcile with a cheater should be asked if they'd do the same. Guaranteed they wouldn't. I wish this man and kids well and hope they have better people in their lives.

The only reason she didn't want to talk about her affair is because she knew as soon as she did there would be nothing stopping her husband from making up his mind to divorce her. As long as op was keeping her around to learn the truth she could delay the inevitable. If her affair partner hadn't died she would have never ended it. At the end though, she knew her affair partner was having multiple affairs and she still hesitated when asked who she would have chosen. She sucks.
From what I've heard. If you're bored in the relationship, it means you should definitely tell your spouse FIRST.
That is just evil.
Anyone who even considers leaving their children and running away with an AP because they are "bored" is already long gone.

She was a weak human who couldn't face consequences of her own decisions who literally destroyed life of op and their daughter.Even when life gave her chance to come clean she just cowardly left no sympathy for her.

Most irredeemable cheater I've learned about in recent memory. She full on fell in love with her AP. That's the whole pickle right there. She never would have given her family a second thought and would have left them of her own volition eventually if her AP was still alive. She left her home to go grieve HIS death and then came back to salvage the life she willingly threw away.
"I would have loved you forever." Damn, that got me.
Yeah she's a lost cause. Her actions speak immesurable dishonesty. Always remember that actions speak louder than words. To run away with another man; no amount of sorry or I love you cannot work. The end checks out when she hesitated. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
The fact that she said nothing and essentially acted like the victim in the confrontation. Glad the kids know now she said she would tell them the truth and literally refused this was all deserved.
I'm just fascinated by her hybris, going back home and claiming that she has always loved OP.
All these relationships falling apart due to boredom. Sometimes folks, boredom is a part of life. A married woman trying to raise 3 teenage daughters and she's bored? Hallelujah, most people would kill for a life that chill with a man and family that love and adore them and they throw it all away for some losers that really don't care about them or the life and accomplishments they've spent their whole lives achieving. She was literally going to abandon her husband and daughters so she could have a 'more exciting life'. Now, and rightfully so, she'll have nothing. She destroyed whatever relationships she's had with her family and any future relationship with her daughters. It'll never be the same. She also hesitated when asked if she'd choose the maggot food AP or OP. She clearly doesn't love him, she's a liar and a narcissist. She valued a stranger over her obligations as a mother and a wife. L wife, L SIL, L in-law parents. They all belong to the streets. If you support a cheater, you're condoning their actions. I hope OP and the daughters keep that in mind going forward. With family like that, who needs enemies? If SIL is married, I hope her husband wakes up and takes a good look into his wife's life. Apples don't fall far from the tree.
