I’m subscribed now bud. Thank you so much for this. I’ve done trim for years but never crown. I’m measuring and calling a right outside cut a right outside corner (silly me eh) and I couldn’t figure this jig out! Now that I know to call my right outside corner cut a left outside corner I’m good to go lol I appreciate this man!🙏
Well, you stated how important it is to measure the actual angles because they might not be 90 degrees. Then you just went with all 90 degree angles and didn’t actually show yourself measuring the wall angles. I really wanted to know how you measure the outside angles. Obviously when measuring the outside angle you have to use the spring angle side of the measuring device because of the device’s shape. 1) the legs of the device are so long that you cannot measure your outside angle because the length is so short. 2) if you are able to measure and come to, say, 88 degrees, do you still divide that (spring angle) by 2? I believe the answer may be to use the wall angle which is on the opposite side of the dial and would be 92. So the cut angle would be 46 degrees. Thanks for your video.
I know this sounds stupid, but thank you so much because you are the only one who explains what are right side and left side cuts.
That annoyed me too when I was first trying to figure out how this tool worked! Glad you liked the video
Great video. Just purchased the jig and your video brought clarity to the written instructions.
Excellent! I'm glad it helped! Best of luck with your project.. Crown Moulding is one of those "labor of love" things that can take a bit of patience
