Several times I saw that both of you had missed some critical exposition while you were commenting about things in the movie. Don't get me wrong many reactors like to comment while watching a movie but not everybody can comment and not miss important dialogue while reacting to a movie. I thought several times if they would just have patience either the character will explain, or some event will explain what 's happening. But to be fair you did say that both of you don't like sitting through long movies, so I get it. Blade is a Marvel Character who first appeared in the comics in 1973, but he wasn't an MCU character until recently (The Eternals 2021 voice only cameo) Blade is considered to be a Dhampir or a human/vampire hybrid just like you said. Blade's mother once she became a vampire her natural maternal instincts all but disappeared only the thirst for blood mattered to her. There have been 3 Blade movies The Sequel Blade 2 appeared in 2002, and the final movie Blade Trinity was released in 2004 ( if you watch that movie you'll see a familiar face ) Wesley Snipes has been practicing marital arts for nearly 40 years and has at least two different black belts in Shotokan and Hapkido Karate and he has experience in kung fu, kick boxing and capoeira ( Brazilian martial art and weapons training with a sword in fact Snipes handled the fight choreography for this movie ).

But, as someone creating something, you also cannot become a ‘people pleaser’ creator or you’ll always fall short since you can’t please everyone. best to work on your craft and take every comment into consideration. Make adjustments here and there, and move on.
