  • Hi all,
    All product links are further down 😊 ⬇️.
    Here is a video of me trying the Let's Resin Interference powders for a gemstone effect, I also tried a matte finish by sanding the resin after demolding for an un-polished look. I think these ones turned out incredible! And yes, Interference powder work great! Not as many colors to choose from compared to the nail powders I have recently shown but they are a good option and good amounts for the price!

    I used to make "sea glass" by pouring the resin like normal before sanding it with my hand held drill by using the sanding head. Though these days my focus has shifted to birthstone "druzy" type jewelry, which has been an interesting challenge so far 😅. These turned out absolutely beautiful, as always. I really like this technique. It is elegant. It reminds me a little bit of a LunaSoft cabochon that you see in beading magazines. That effect does not even try for a natural stone appearance, rather it has an “otherworldly” feel to it. The luminance is amazing. Your technique has some of the same essence while introducing the tiny little inclusions you might see in a natural gemstone. Very nice look and I love that you show how you would use these pieces. Great ideas!

    I like both finishes and my favorite colors are the blue and green. 😍
    Have you tried mixing the interference powders? 🤔 If you mix the blue and the green you might be able to get lovely shades of blue-green depending on the ratio of each color. Like, for example, take three different little empty containers and mix equal amounts of each color in one, do a second with two parts blue and one part green and the third with two parts green and one part blue. Use a tiny measuring scoop to get precise amounts so you can replicate colors if wanted/needed and make sure to mix well so the color is even. If you have/get more empty containers you can play with mixing the other colors too. Might be fun to mix one part gold, three parts blue and one part green or something like that. Even more fun to mix 2 parts purple and one part blue to maybe get a more royal purple shade or different amounts of pink and blue with or without the purple to get different shades of purple completely. Don't know if it will work since you might just get sparks of each color instead of one solid color but in theory it should given the way the eye sees colors and either way the effect could be cool. Experiments are fun! 😁👍

    Sadly, the prices on Etsy are higher than others because Etsy takes a huge cut from the sell. I sold something for 30 dollars (US), and got to keep 20 after all their fees! And that was after the buyer paid for the shipping....

      So true, exactly the reason why I quit my Etsy!

    I'm not really keen on the matte effect, but I think that's just me. Maybe I do have a little bit of the magpie in me after all lol I prefer the shiny, for this.

    I love your videos, I've learned a lot playing around. Made some really cool stuff. My daughter keeps stealing from my stash of pendants. Your work is beautiful! My mother and aunts used to pick up all kinds of moon stones from the beach in LA a long time ago.. Now they cost a fortune?

    They sell a product called Mattify.. comes with a green scrubbie & an abrasive gel. Also I wonder if we could spray the shiny molds with a matte clear spray paint a little bit before adding the resin 🤔
    Thanks for sharing 🌹💯💯

    I'm curious if you've seen any videos from a channel called: Louise Singleton Creations. She does some really cool stuff with UV resin in water and iron powder and magnets. If you have heard of her, you should check her out. Even if it's not your thing, it's pretty cool.

    What if you brush some clear matte nail gel polish or matte nail top coat? Would that work?

    Hi Daniel, Hey, Can a UV lamp have TOO much wattage?

    • @daniel..cooper
      @daniel..cooper  Рік тому

      Kind of, it can cure the resin too fast which will cause very uneven surfaces and can get too hot. A way around this would be to place the lamp further away.

    Sort of looks like a moonstone but real moonstones are so inexpensive it wouldn’t be worth making fakes.
