your summary at the end nailed it, and is the reason we bought ours. Mind you, we are done at 2 kids so the space also makes the most sense for us. As you said, once you're in the family suv segment at the full size market w/all the fixings your almost at the same price as the X7, then you factor in MPG and driving character the X7 becomes an easy decision. Still can't believe we own one!
I think the official mpg ratings might be too low. I have a 2023, and I am routinely getting almost 23 mpg in around-town driving alone. The fuel gauge moves down so slowly that I was worried it might be broken, but my dealer checked it, and it’s working fine. I love this machine!
I like the new headlight design, but the grills ( upper and lower ) need to go back to the way they were in my 2000 740IL - it had actual "kidney shaped" grills and didn't have the large front bumper. I liked the wheels on my 740 IL much better than the black wheels that they are putting on everything now.
At this price point, ventilated 2nd row and heated 3rd row should be standard. And there should be an available exec package, like the 7 series with reclining and massaging 2nd row with multimedia screen(s)
@@TMRI1970 Big whoop. No one cares about 3rd row heat. Most people don’t use 3rd row anyway. For 100k second row should at least have heat and ventilation…and ideally massage. A 50k Hyundai Palisade…a Jeep Grand Cherokee…a Mazda Cx-90 can give you ventilated seats for half the price. BMW needs to step up its game.
Great review! I did spec order at $105k with a 5k discount. it’s everything you say. Don’t need the V8; as the inline 6 has huge power and less maintenance. Go drive one. I am a happy camper with this purchase.
Good review but you didn’t operate second row seats correctly to get into 3rd row. You need to press button on the side of seat not top. Top to fold down but side button is to completely move seat out of the way to climb into 3rd row.
Yep - I own one. This is the best handling 3 row SUV's by far. For me it was a no brainer between the GLS, Range Rover Sport, and the X7. The X7 is just such a wonderful SUV to drive. The 6 Cylinder is very good. The V8 is a rocket. Its unfortunate that our auto industry manufactures SUV versions of a pickup trucks. Absurd that we buy them.

Normally I would agree with you about BMW reliability and repair costs but the X7 is a different animal all together amd surprisingly reliable. We just ordered a 2025 to replace our 2019, mainly because of the upgraded driving enhancements. I'm spoiled in my Denali with the Super Cruise so this is BMW's first year adding automatic lane chamge capability in it's self-driving mode. It’s interesting how much CHEAPER the european cars are in the U.S. Fir example, the price of the exact same BMW X7 in Switzerland is CHF 150K, which is USD 170K, TWICE as much vs the US prices. Even in Germany (the manufacturing origin of the car!) the price is EURO 120K, which is USD 140K, still much higher vs USA . Wierd 🤷🏻♂️

It's funny how the Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy does a far better job especially with It's luxury interior, interior amenities, and plentiful space even for the 3rd row passengers offering USB ports, reclining chairs, air vents, heated seats, and quilted Napa stitched leather, and large dual sun roofs, Not to mention, you get more technology too and you do not need to spend $25k more to get it. It's only heated 2nd and 3rd row if you get the Climate comfort package. I wish they had cooled 2nd row seats at least.

How much is the insurance for this beauty
Depends on many factors as you should know
Also anyone buying this car can afford the insurance no matter what so pretty silly
