You're underselling how insane the powerscaling is for the power armor as depicted in the show. Weird as the welding thing is for a variety of reasons, the suit's durability and strength are actually pretty crazy and above average to literally the highest feats we've ever seen for power armor. Literally the only things that we see consistently damage it are giant irradiated mutant bears and a very specific weakness exploited by an aimbot Ghoul so good he can land shots in the dark using a very powerful gun we literally see tear holes through people in a way standard issue service rifles do not. The thing is also strong enough to squash people's bones like grapefruit, toss a forty pound rock miles to the sea, and kick another rock hard enough to break and collapse a stone wall in a single go. Literally the only negatives about it in the physical department is that you're slightly slower than a normal human and less agile in a tactical sense, but the strengths of the armor are so profound especially in a setting where you're not fighting a proper military like the Chinese I'd take the suit as portrayed in the show in a heartbeat in the games.
I always found the Ghoul's gun to be abnormally weird as a fallout fan. It's kinda like "That Gun", a fat 5.56mm ammo (i think) gun that acts as a sort of powerful revolver. Except int he show, his gun sounds like a grenade launcher. Simply insane.
@@Jetzer2232 It is a VERY weird gun, yes, but because of that, very non-standard and non-standardly powerful and thus it shouldn't be representative of the overall experience wearing said power armor would deliver in most situations, because again, in most situations, you're not fighting Jeffrey Donovan/Walton Goggins as a crazy aimbot ghoul, especially not in the Wasteland.
I agree on most things except that Power Armor should make you feel like a god. It's mid to late-game armor, so it should be better than the other armors you can find, but it shouldn't make you invincible.
@ToddHorrigan I can just wear it. I'm tall enough to wear the pieces themselves like the t45 it's 193cm in height. I'm 191cm in height, but I would be carrying 41 kilos on me if i wore the t45 power armor is heavy, but if you're tall and strong enough, you can wear it without needing a frame that means no fusion core but it would be heavy. Fusion cores with the frame just make it easier to move around.

Most badass looking armors are the bulky ones, but the most realistic are the slim ones from 3 and NV. Look at cosplays for example. I have one gripe with the tier list, the gun that the ghoul uses is like a bolter [a Warhammer 40k gun] it shoots a explosive round that penetrates the target then explodes once inside, and the Chinese would likely have used such weapons in anchorage because they are more stealth focused and don't have such heavy armor [unless you count the fallout 76 Chinese power armor] and the T-45 was most likely rushed into production aswell for the war effort, and when the Chinese found this weakness the abused it, and we know that the T-60 is based of the T-45, its just a better version overall, and its entirely likely that that weak spot would still be there even though its a better model, it is more or less the same as T-45 in some designs, and it is possible that they fixed that with the T-51 series, because it is in lore the best pre war power armor [if you don't count the X-01 as prewar because that's a bit foggy there] anyways this is my little essay on that

I agree on Fallout 4's power armor durability; that game has really frustrating balancing at times (the famed legendary gunner vs alpha deathclaw HP). For example, in the new Creation Club Enclave update, they nerfed the Hellfire armor into oblivion and made it significantly worse than the X-01. Its supposed to be the most durable power armor in the setting, or at least superior to anything pre-war based.

Nobody is calling FO4 PA noncanon. The fusion core system and some other stuff are retcons, but it doesn't make them non canon. If anything, it decanonizes stuff in older games. T60 contradicts the statement that t51 was the best prewar PA (a statement made by Bethesda in their OWN GAME), so t51 being the best prewar PA may be the only "non canon" PA related thing in FO4 because it was retconned in the same game it was stated in.
